FRIEND OR FOE CHAPTER 6

At preventers.......
"Une we just received a call from Alex's kidnappers" Noin said as she burst into Une's office.
"Were you able to trace the call?" Une asked
"Yes, "
"What!!" Une sounded surprised
"I was able to trace the call all we have to do is get someone out to the location"
"Call the pilots at once"Une ordered
"Right"

* * *
"Are you sure we're in the right location Quatre?" Duo whispered as they walked through an abandoned warehouse.
"Yes these are the exact co-ordinates Noin gave me" Quatre responded
"We should split up we can cover more grounds that way"wufei stated
"Right" they said in unison.
Moving steathily through the dark building was not a hard task for the experienced four.
"Nothing" Duo said into his communicator getting a little impatient.
"Keep looking" Quatre told him
"And shut up" Wufei added
Suddenly two shots were heard, then three more
"Don't worry I got ...." before Trowa could finish a whole round of gunshots were heard, coming from all directions.
"It's a trap" Duo screamed.
The four returned fire but they might as well been blind since they could barely see.
Suddenly the room was silent all .
"Do you really think we would have made it this easy," a man said his voice echoing from the loud speakers. "obviously you're not as good as you thought you were, or you would have known better."
"well it doesn't matter now you're loss is my gain or should I say victory"
As soon as he'd come he was gone, the room retured to dead silence. It took a while before the four men regained alertness but when they did they regrouped. Only Trowa was hurt he was hit in his right arm but altogether they were fine. The most damage done was probably their ego's.

As this was going on Heero was conducting an investigation of his own. He was at the scene of the crime. He observed the outside of the house before going in. He had made the house his first target after reading preventer files.It took sometime but he was eventually able to crack the codes but he did nonetheless. Why the preventers didn't search the house was still a mystery for him, but it made his job alot easier. He combed through the whole house spending most of his time in Alex's room seeing as the intruder came up there for him. Looking around it would seem that nothing was wrong but in Heero's eyes clearly there was. Some of the boy's toys were taken, a blanket things that kidnappers don't usually take, unless they wanted to keep the child happy and kidnappers don't do that either, that is unless they know you. He dusted for fingerprints and so on before he left.

In the medical bay of the preventers the four young men were being attended by Sally when Une and Noin came in.
"I take it didn't go well" Une asked but she got no response, the look on their faces told the story.
"Don't be too hard on yourselves it was an honest mistake."
Wufei gave a fake chuckle "Right"
"I know you're upset" une began "but atleast you tried"
"Why shouldn't we be upset we've had about three leads so far and all failed," Duo said sounding a little disappointed
"Not to mention the fact that they always seem to know we were coming."Trowa said. "they always seem to be a step ahead of us"
"Trowa who knows why they know what they know it can't be a mole we checked that out ourselves remember." Noin tried to reassure him
"Right"
"Haven't seen Zechs around for a while." duo said almost to quickly .
"If you're trying to imply that he has something to do with this you're wrong he's just as upset as we were when we heard the, or more."
"Hn Noin's right he was worried" Wufei said to everyone's surprise. Noin was begining to relax when Wufei finished his sentence "Or maybe it was just good acting"
"That's not true!!!" Noin snapped
"Hey this isn't the time to be turning on each other, we have to help each other so we can help Alex. "Quatre who has always beem the peace keeper said. Every one went quiet, giving silent apologies to who deserved. If they were going to do this they had to do it as a team and now was not the time to argue amongst themselves.
