Alright, heres chapter 2 of my fic...and guess what? IVE GOT A BETA READER!!!
So I have to say thank you to Eienvine because otherwise there would be bad grammar and such throughout the entire fic.
She has done a perfect job, I couldnt be any happier so you should all post a comment and mentioning on how well the grammar in this chapter is since its all Eienvine's job.
Anyways, this chapter is shorter...alot shorter than chapter one but I hope that noone mind, the following chapters will be somewhere in between these two first ones so I hope that everyone will be satisfied with that.
Please post rewievs, more and more critiscism is always welcome!

Saturday Afternoon:
Kaname, having spent all of Saturday packing her suitcase and making up fantasies about the upcoming trip, was in her kitchen preparing dinner.
She was making noodles with canned crab, a meal she had gotten hooked on after hearing about how Sousuke's colleague Kurz Weber had once made it. When Sousuke had told her of that episode, she had laughed a lot about Melissa Mao's reaction to the meal.
Sousuke had told her that Melissa, from that day on, always hid her precious canned crab and set up traps around it and Weber had more than once been caught red handed as some trap had gone off.
Still smiling, she set the table, and was just getting ready to eat when the phone rang. Muttering about bad timing for telephone calls, she walked over to the phone and answered.
?Yes, it's Chidori,? she answered.
?Kaname, it's Sousuke.?
?Hi, Sousuke. What do you want? I'm just about to have dinner.?
?I was just wondering if you would like to help me some. I'm having a bit of a situation here.? His voice sounded a bit nervous.
?What is it about, Sousuke? You haven't hurt yourself, I hope?? She didn't think that he had--his ability was unbelivable, and there was no chance that he would cut himself or fire a bullet into his own foot or something like that.
?Negative. I...I need some help...packing.?
?Huh?? She was really taken aback by that. Sousuke most certainly knew how to pack his bags; he could always find a way to pack down some more ammunition somewhere in a bag, and he folded his clothes with with extreme care, never wasting any space.
?I was out at the shopping center earlier today and bought some civilian uniforms, since we won't need our school uniforms all the time, but I don't know what kind of clothing is appropriate to bring along in this kind of environment."
?I see.? She giggled a little. ?Very well, sergeant. I will just finish my dinner and then I'll come over to your apartment and help you.?
?Thank you, Kaname. I must admit that I'm at a total loss this time.?
?No problem, Sousuke. See you in a while, then.?
?Yes, thank you, goodbye.?
"Goodbye."
He was so clueless sometimes, yet he could be so cute when he was...and unbelievably, he had called her asking for help. Think of that.
She finished her meal as fast as possible and didn't even bother to clean the kitchen before she threw on her clothes and hurried over to Sousuke's apartment.
As she entered the building, she smiled again. Now she had the perfect opportunity to dress Sousuke up as she wished; he would be so dashing when she was done...
?I just hope that he bought something nice, at least,' she thought, worry sweeping over her. What if he had bought only ugly clothes? She had never seen him in anything except his school and military uniforms, so she had no idea what kind of clothing he could have bought.
She exited the elevator and walked down the hall, stopped in front of Sousuke's door and knocked. The answer came immediately.
?Please enter.?
She opened the door and walked inside, then stopped dead when she came to his living room, almost not believing her eyes.
Sousuke was standing in the middle of the room, looking disturbed as he surveyed the clothes that were spread throughout the room.
It looked like he had piled them up neatly in the center of the room, then placed a grenade in the bottom of the pile and detonated it, sending the clothes flying in all directions.
There were clothes on the floor, the table, the chairs, sofa, the TV . . . clothes hung from every handle on the open closet door, and clothes hung inside the closet.
?Ahh, finally you have arrived, Kaname. As you can see, I need some assistance in this matter. I just can't choose what to bring with me,? he said in a confused voice.
?Wow, you sure has spent a lot of money, Sousuke. All these clothes can't have been cheap."
?Affirmative, but then again I haven't used any of my money from Mithril yet, so I can afford it. Anyway, it's good to have some civilian uniforms as well. I might need them again someday.?
?You're right. Well, let me see what you bought, then,? Kaname said as she started moving carefully around room. Picking up clothes that were in her path, she steadily made her way toward Sousuke.
?This shirt is nice, and those pants look good as well."
?That is a wonderful sweater, Sousuke. Make sure to bring that one with you.?
?Ugh, this one has to go. You just don't fit in pink, Sousuke, no matter what any salesman could have told you. You should have black or navy blue and maybe something very dark green.?
?Affirmative,? Sousuke answered and started picking up clothes. He quickly tossed the more colorful ones in one pile and the darks into another.
It took them a good two hours to sort out the best clothes, but after that, Kaname was satisfied. He had bought some really nice clothes: shirts, sweaters, jeans and even a pair of new shoes that was suitable.
After they had decided on what he should bring with him, she stayed and helped him pack his clothes before getting ready to leave.
?I want to thank you, Kaname,? Sousuke said nervously. ?I would not have been able to complete this mission without your assistance and I want you to know that.?
That comment almost made her blush again. What was it with Souske these days? He made such sweet comments all the time, and didn't even do something to ruin the moment the second after he made them . . . well, not every time, at least. 'Maybe he's finally starting to get used to normal life,? she thought before answering him.
?It was nothing, Sousuke. I'm glad that I could help you; you have helped me so often in the past that it's good to be able to pay you back." She smiled as she said it; despite the fact that she kept denying it to her friends--and to herself, sometimes--she really liked Sousuke. And her answer was true . . . he HAD helped her a lot, not only by rescuing her but in other ways as well.
It was his turn to blush. 'Just what did her comment mean?' he thought. 'Did it mean anything special, or was it just a friendly comment??
Even though he was clueless from time to time, and despite the fact that he sometimes rushed into situations without thinking twice, he was an intelligent person, and there was no way that he couldn't have learned SOMETHING about teenagers in his time at Jindai High School.
?Anyway, thank you, Kaname. I'll see you tomorrow, then.?
?Okay, see you tomorrow."
?Goodbye.?
The door closed and Kaname was gone. He let out a sigh, but he didn't know if it was out of relief or disappointment.
He walked back into his living room and looked down into his bag. There was still room for his equipment. He folded the clothes that he wasn't bringing and placed them in his closet, before he took out all of his weapons and placed them upon his workbench.
There was a wide selection of weapons, everything from combat knifes to C4-explosives. Sousuke quickly descided that he would need to have something heavier than just his Glock 26. After examining his weapons, he decided to go with a Combat Shotgun and his old Steyr SPP.
After deciding on that matter, he packed all his weapons except for the Glock, which he would keep with him, in case of an emergency.
Feeling satisfied with the day's work and with being sufficently prepared for the class trip, he sat down at his desk and started to write his report to the Tuatha de Danaan.
It took him a good three hours to complete the report and get the answer back.
Their answer said nothing except that he should proceed as usual; however, they would have URZ-2 and URZ-6 on standby, ready to respond to any distress call that he made.
When the report was sent away and his commanders were informed, he was ready.
There was nothing left to do until they left tomorrow.
Sousuke then realized that he was hungry; in all the commotion of buying new clothes, choosing which ones to bring, and packing with Kaname, he had forgotten to eat.
It was not a problem. He would take some MREs and a couple of fruits and then go to sleep.
Having finished his meal, Sousuke washed himself and brushed his teeth and then crawled into his bed.
He had a tough time getting to sleep. Usually, he could fall asleep anywhere. That ability was important for a soldier, since when he was in the field he never knew when the next time he would get any rest was.
This night, however, he couldn't seem to call upon that ability to work as it should. He tried to sleep on his side, back, and stomach, but nothing helped.
Feeling very frustrated, he slammed his hand into his pillow, forgetting about the gun that he always had underneath his pillow. His hand began to ache, and Sousuke cursed silently.
What was it with him? Why couldn't he sleep?
?I don't understand this. Why can't I go to sleep?? His thoughts began to drift away as he lay awake in the dark room.
?I wonder what Kaname is doing right now? Is she asleep, or awake like me??
He started to think about how happy she had been while helping him with his clothes earlier that day.
?She was so happy when I asked her for assistance. Perhaps it would be wise to do so in the future as well?'
He felt warmth spreading through him, as he usually did when he thought about Kaname outside of mission parameters.
He felt it inside himself that it was something more than just a mission to protect Kaname. He had felt the same way during the Khanka incident.
Despite the fact that he had been ordered to rescue the other hostages, he had disobeyed his orders--a first for him--and had tried to rescue Kaname instead.
He was lying and thinking about everything and nothing for a long time before he finally fell asleep.
