Summary: [AU] After the untimely death of a musical genius, Zechs Marquise decides to bring together all of Treize?s favourite bands for a concert tribute. However, no performance would be complete without the infamous pair, Heero and Relena. It?s just too bad that they?re no longer talking to each other.

Chapter One: The Treize Kushrenada Tribute
[TV News Broadcast, prime time at 8:00 pm]
News Anchor: Finally in the news tonight, the world mourns the death of folk musician icon, Treize Kushrenada at the young age of 24.
[The screen wavers slightly as a profile of the celebrated musician appears on the television. He is a sandy-blonde hair man with unusual forked eyebrows and a very charming smile.]
News Anchor: He was a pivotal figure in guiding the world of folk music from the older generations of 1940?s into one of today?s largest genres of mainstream music in AC 220. [feel free to correct me on the date] The revival of such harmonies and lyrics has changed both the Earth and Colonies into an era of peace, harmony, and love for each other. Many politicians gently criticize this period of our time as the neo-hippy generation after the shocking revelation that WWIII was upon us just a few years back. But this man, Treize Kushrenada, was praised for his promotion of blending harmonies and for the direction of his hit bands, The OZzies*, the amazing duo of White Fang, the string instrumentalists known as the Three Doctors. But most beloved of all these talented musicians are the world?s sweethearts, Heero Yuy and Relena Peacecraft.
[Behind the news anchor, a side screen of these bands flash one-by one, focusing on the rather young faces of these folk musicians, exempting a trio of rather ancient looking scientists wearing odd facial appendages, and lastly focusing on a couple. The young man has striking blue eyes and dark chestnut hair that seems to be uncombed while standing by his side, a young blonde lady with a heart-shaped face sings along with him. They are Heero and Relena, the inseparable sweethearts of folk music from years past.]
News Anchor: The appealing image of Treize?s beloved artists was not what made their songs best-selling records, but their messages of peace and freedom?and the young people got behind the message in a big way, rallying in university grounds while the wars were in full blow, protesting in the city streets, waving banners of PEACE* while troops of Preventers were sent from the government to check upon any riots forming that might endanger civilians. Yes, those were hard times, sending soldiers to outer space and to the far corners of the worlds, man and woman fighting in mobile suits with reasons unknown, families torn apart with the absence of loved ones. However, it is periods like these that bring out both the best and the worst in people, music being one way for artists to voice their opinion to the crowds.
[At this moment, the people behind the camera were making signals for the News Anchor to hurry up his speech, time was running low and they needed to get to the next commercial before the reality shows came on.]
News Anchor: Upon Treize?s untimely death from drowning in his rose-coloured bathtub, his best friend, Zechs Marquis has taken it upon himself to organize a memorial concert in his honour. The concert, reuniting the musician?s best bands together for a single night, is rumoured to be the biggest event since the final farewell tour of The Beatles,* who have all been revived and are now living comfortably in the Sanq Kingdom.
[The cameraman puts up three fingers, indicating the number of minutes left before the air time was over.]
News Anchor: More news of the concert will be given tomorrow, when Zechs Marquis will give a public announcement of the concert?s date, locations, and guest appearances. Treize Kushrenada is survived by his two wives* and daughter.

[In an office of a building made entirely of glass]
Zechs: [talking on a mobile phone] Yes, yes, I know the Coliseum has already been booked for March 21st this month; but they gave us an opening that night instead of a hockey game. Yes, yes, I?ve phoned the majority of the musicians and they said they were coming. Dr. J? Yes, he?s contacting the other two as we speak now. No, I haven?t spoken to Lady Une on the subject yet; she?s still quite upset with her husband?s passing. The other woman? No, she?s just happy over the will and getting the vacation home in Majorca. The others? Stop harping on me like this, Lucrezia, you know I?ve tried to contact Heero Yuy, but he just doesn?t want to do it. Yes, I?ve talked to Relena. Uh-huh, the girl?s willing to perform at the concert. I can?t do that! I can?t find her another partner! They?re Heero and Relena for crying out loud, they were Treize?s favouries! Yes, yes, and another yes, I?ll bring those two together if it?s the last thing I do.
Lucrezia: Is that your word? Are you swearing by it?
Zechs: I?m betting on it. Heero and Relena will perform together, if not one last time before their separation.

A/N: * Please forgive me for my ill sense of humour, and perhaps for my personal opinions of war and politics. I do not wish to dwell or expand upon those subjects and most certainly will not present them here. As for Treize having two wives? Who knows with that man? [shakes head] Tsk-tsk. Next chapter will include separate interviews with Relena Peacecraft and Heero Yuy regarding the start of their musical career together and what ultimately drove them apart.
Like the story so far? To much Alternate Universe? Too stupid and makes no sense whatsoever? Please review or send me a line. My sanity depends on it.
