Chapter 1




In a blur she was out of the conference room and headed down the hall towards the elevators with Heero and Trowa in her wake.

?Relena.? Heero spoke to her in a tone that would normally catch her attention, but Relena was set on getting out of the building as soon as possible.

?Relena.?

This time he managed to grab her arm and bring her to a halt. Before he could speak any further, she spoke,

?Look Heero, I don?t know what?s going, and right now is not the time for me to explain anything further.? She twisted out of his grasp, gave him and Trowa a set glare, and walked off towards the elevator.

?I haven?t seen her like this last week Heero. Do you think her nightmares could be getting worse,? Trowa asked as they trailed behind Relena far enough to hold their conversation. They both watched as Relena pushed the button to the elevator and waited in agitation.

?It?s worse when she?s sleeping at night. It?s like she?s being chased by something or someone in her sleep. When she wakes up she?s cold all over and looks very distant.?

As they reached Relena, the doors to an elevator opened allowing people to get on. The inside of the elevators spoke of luxury and showed a sense of mystique. Relena looked in the mirrors of the doors at her reflection and found that she looked deprived of sleep and found something in her eyes she thought she?d never see.

?Is it fear??

Still looking in the mirror Relena looked to her left to find a young woman about her age looking directly at her.

?I beg your pardon,? Relena asked as she looked over to the woman from the mirror, only to find that she, Heero and Trowa were the only occupants in the elevator. Confused, she looked back at the reflection to find that the woman was no longer there.

Relena closed her eyes to try and block out the tears.

Relena watched with concern as Relena ran her hands through her hair in a fit of confusion. ?Are you okay Relena??

?Maybe you should go see someone,? was Trowa?s suggestion.

Relena snapped her head in Trowa?s direction and glared at him. ?I?m not going crazy Trowa,? she yelled, just as the doors were opening to the main floor. Those that were outside of the elevator looked to her in a small set of astonishment once the doors were set open for new passengers.

Running her hands over her suit in a fit of frustration, Relena walked out of the elevator and headed towards the main doors, only to be stopped by her intuition.

As if a sudden rush of wind were to go through her body, she swayed just a little, closed her eyes to regain her balance and reopened them to continue?only to find herself not there.

?Are you sure it is wise to awaken the woman? It would cause a stir amongst the Elders and her love. Surely if he found out she were alive, he?d come for all of us and destroy all that threatens to harm her??

Voices?all she heard was voices. Relena looked around to see that her surroundings were not that of the Administration Building she was in just a little while ago. Darkened woods with still air was all that she could see?all but a small light coming from a big gap in the ground ahead of her that seemed to be a cave.

?We awaken Isera and see that she conceives the child of Magathis. Once conception comes to pass, there is nothing that her lord can do??

Relena looked back towards the woods only to find that a slow, settling darkness was creeping in her direction.

?This is all too familiar?but why am I dreaming while I?m awake??

With such confusion going through her very being, she began to back away from the darkness that crept towards her.

?What?s going on??

As she crept backwards, she lost her footing and fell down in to the while she spotted earlier, hitting her head on a nearby rock. Before losing consciousness, she heard a voice that sounded too familiar to her, calling out to her?

?Relena??

?Relena, can you hear me?? Sally eyed Relena for a few more moments? before turning to check her IV fluid and charting what results she had.

?Are there any improvements?? Sally turned towards the masculine voice, surprised by the owner?s inquiry.

?Wufei. I?m surprised to see you here so late. I thought you left for the night.?

?I?m still here because there?s a certain onna that doesn?t know how to give herself the proper amount of rest she needs.?

With a small smile, Sally returned to her work. ?Well, this patient needs a lot of care. She also needs a lot of rest, and I?m going to see to it that she gets it.?

?Her work requires too much of her, but she should know how to manage her time to the people and to herself. Your work, on the other hand, Sally, doesn?t require much.?

Wufei walked up to Sally and stood behind her, watching her intently, as if willing her to turn around and look at him. Not noticing his movements, Sally went to finishing up her paper work. ?Well Wufei, she?s going to need the extra rest for the next six and a half months.?

Wufei shook his head slightly and placed his hands on Sally?s waist, pulling her close to him, not letting Sally?s information sink in.

?She?s the Vice Foreign- six and a half months, Sally?? Wufei turned Sally around and looked down into her eyes. Sally gave him a smile, ?I wondered when it would sink in.?

Wufei looked from Sally to Relena, in total disbelief, ?Does Heero know of this??

Sally gave him a playful look of questioning, ?What makes you think it?s Heero??

Wufei looked down at Sally, and before answering her question, he gave her a soft kiss on her lips. ?I know when a man is not only in love with a woman, I also know when their relationship is deeper than what words can describe.?

Sally raised her eyebrows, ?That?s surprising coming form someone like you.?

In a swift motion, Wufei picked Sally up and carried her out of Relena?s room. ?You of all people should not be surprised by my actions, onna.?

?Only when it comes to you showing affection Wufei, is when I am surprised.?

Wufei looked down at her with a questioning look, ?Have I not shown you enough??

?No, you haven?t.?

Walking towards his living quarters, Wufei smiled with cruel intentions. But this didn?t go unnoticed.

?I don?t like that smile Wufei.?

There was no reply.

This sounds very interesting. Who was the woman Relena saw, and why is she hearing voices? And...perhaps I misinterpereted the 'six and a half months' and the 'what makes you think it is Heero' passage...but, is Relena...pregnant?

In a swift motion, Wufei picked Sally up and carried her out of Relena’s room. “You of all people should not be surprised by my actions, onna.”

“Only when it comes to you showing affection Wufei, is when I am surprised.”

Wufei looked down at her with a questioning look, “Have I not shown you enough?”

“No, you haven’t.”

Walking towards his living quarters, Wufei smiled with cruel intentions. But this didn’t go unnoticed.

“I don’t like that smile Wufei.”

There was no reply.
