Battle Cry of the Reikon (Taster/Intro)

Post by Rose of Betrayal »

Authoress notes: No disclaimer, finally. *sigh* This is just an idea that popped into my head after I got into a heavy diet of chocolate. Sugar just affects my brain in ways that you will never know. This is just a taster to see if anyone's interested. If no one is...I won't continue.

Battle Cry of the Reikon
Taster/Introduction
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The nuclear rockets had exploded into space, exploding in the earth's atmosphere. It destroyed the earth, making it vulnerable to space wastes that drifted in easily. It contaminated the earth like filth. People died slowly. They died painful deaths.
Winter came and never went. Spring, summer, and autumn never came again. The sun shone, but the rays scorched the faces of all those who looked upon it. The moon brought an endless cold that left them shivering under poorly-weaved blankets that were burned in the explosion. The year was long and painful for the population of earth. The population that was left. A mere thousand that dwindled like the sunset as the year passed.
The disease of death spread through the earth. No one could survive. No one. The earth made sure of that. It burned and raged, threatening the people, as if it were seeking revenge for the devastation of its atomosphere. Everyone was afraid of nothing. They hid in their shelters for nothing, if not to hide from the cold and the glaring face of the sun.
It was a situation where no one could survive.
Except for a group of people. They survived the year, and the next, and the next. . . Soon, they were the only ones left. The ones who had died before them called them the Reikon, the Soul. Not willing to forget their past people, friends, and family, they continued the name for their small group. They left earth, they left the withered earth where they had once thrived, and travelled through space.
They did not necessarily find the equipment to do it. They had a special spaceship, and they called it the Survivor. They retrieved it from one of the plants, rebuilt it. Suits were plentiful, although most were ruined, they were still usable.
Space was an endless draft of stars and blackness. Drifting in the Survivor, none of them regained consciousness from their weakened states until they bumped into an unknown planet. It was smaller than earth, but it functioned like earth.
Overjoyed, they rebuilt their homes on the planet, but they did not name it. It was Nameless.
But when they were happy, they were struck by a thought. Who made the nuclear rockets explode? It was the government, of course. The government was named Hi, for fire. But were they alive? Maybe, maybe not.
But soon, they found out it was. They swore revenge.
And they would show no mercy.
