Whispered and Heard :: Pounding Rhythm and Dance

For the first time in a long time Sergeant Sagara Sousuke was running frantically to Kaname?s apartment. He was hell bent on one direction and as he threw himself through her door he could feel the sickness within the air. Felt the revulsion upon entering her apartment as it clung to every single breath he took and had his heart not been full of adrenaline he would have sunk to his knees and thrown up. He remembered that was same feeling that washed over him when he played her message, her loud wavering tones, her high pitched screamed request for him to save her and he silently cursed himself for not being there.

When he had unveiled the scene within her apartment, a wave of panic had washed over him. It was as if simply seeing the scene made its pronouncement true. The air was cool and easily teased his sweat soaked flesh. He suppressed the panicky shivers that raced through him his shaking hands slowing the progress of cataloging the events. Mindless thoughts raced through his brain contemplating scenario after scenario.

He had to find her but he knew she wasn?t there but still he searched frantically now smashing objects everywhere if just to find a glimpse of her face. And there it was a small shimmer of glass bound in a steel frame in the midst of destruction in her room. He picked it up slowly, brushing away the small dust fragments from her innocent face. It was just a small picture of herself her guiltless expression plastered on her face. He held it close to his heart for a few second trying to imagine her face. His hands clutched it protectively to his heart and as his wet fingertips glided over the velvet back of the frame he felt the familiar wet stickiness of blood.

The revulsion, sickness, disgust, and failure. Death never felt like this to him. It was a nauseas wave of pain. The sound of glass broke him of his thoughts. He had unconsciously smashed her picture against the wall. He never flinched as the glass cut at his skin nor did he care about the blood that streaked down past his wrist. He just stared at her picture with its mangled frame held firmly in his hand as her picture sneaked out of the lose bonds to float to the floor.

He stared at it in silence. Counting the minutes he already missed, wishing that if he stared long enough he?d make that picture come to life but the cold reality sunk in. Kaname was gone and with that thought his knees roughly hit the floor and a single beep sounded underneath him.

Beep. ?Kaname, It?s me Sagara. I know I have been gone along time but I?m coming back.. coming back to Tokyo?to see you and.. well.. I hope to see you then. Bye Kaname.? A small pause and a hushed sigh before he heard himself hang up the phone with a single click.

He brushed away the mangled bit of glass and cloth to reveal the answering machine and then noticed that her white cordless phone was smashed on the floor. He imagined in his mind Kaname screaming his name for help again her arm bent towards the phone to grab it and then right as her fingertip brushed it and.. Smash! A black boot twisted and crunched the plastic snapping it in two.

?Sagara Please.. It hurts. Please Sagara!?

?Never! Sagara!!!! Help me damn it!?

?Oh Sousuke. Please get here. Please. I need you!!?

He listened to her voice in his head as he clutched her photo to his heart streaking it with his own blood. ?She called me Sousuke.?

With one deep breath he let out a wail to the heavens.

?Kaname!!!!!?

He sat in twilight, it had gotten cold. The sky was darkening from a rich tapestry of pinks and blues streaked with golden clouds to deep blue sprinkled with stars. Alone in a room he sat screaming through the low resonance of a radio.

I've waited for you to long and if I can't hold on, I'm gone.

Yeah its nto so good. But.. I needed something before my mega mega mega mega good chapters .. Oh yes. and mega evilness!!

THe only bad thing about this story are the chapters are TOO SHORT!!!!!!

*huggles* Yay but the truth behind 2 was it was written after 3 .. So three is almost ready to go.. and thats why 2 is soooooooooooo SHORT! Yay I thought I was either being to evil or not evil enough so I needed to make Sagara feel like crap or something. .I love chapter 3 though! I pull the carpet out and .. like said.. EVIL!

*gets up off the ground and shakes dirt out of hair* What is this...a update. How long was I out? *holds head* Last thing I remember was having someone jump on me and then waking up here. Good chapter. I will find out what's going on. Stupid mob..almost got me that time...I think. What did I do to make them chase me in the first place, and was Kaname swinging her fan at me for??? Why do I want to tickle her feet? Only one way to find out. *goes off to find Kaname*

Awesome! I'm so glad that you updated this, . . . . I think that I was begining to worry.

Never fear, the update is here!

Okay, I agree, it was short, but so suspenceful! I can just see Sousuke running for dear life to get up to Kaname's apartment. *Shiver* Poor him! He better kick some major butt when he finds who took his girl!

Anyways, enough of me, I've just gotta wait now for the promise of the great chapter 3.

*following Karama's Koabito* Suspect found. I must not allow the next chapters to fall into enemy hands. *places new bandage on head* A little bit of payback is in order. Mission parameters: 1.) Don't allow sensitive material to be stolen. 2.) Avoid capture and possible torture 3.) Keep on the look out for Kaname......and her fan. I will not fail.
