Hey, sweets...

Ever clicked around the Alt. Forum's pages, read all the stories ten times over, and wondered, "Are there other stories out there?"

Well, if you haven't, I have.

"So?" you ask. Well, here's my idea...

To get straight to the point, this post is meant to be - what is hopefully - an on-going Alt Fic Referral postee thingy. <-- * Naus cringes at bad grammar *

There are many alt. stories out there that just don't make it in here maybe because the authors don't know about the existence of BI's alternative forum, or maybe they've only written one and have quit the GW fandom since. Either way, in an attempt to shore up some more interest and (dare I hope) inspire you, I'm going to try this referral program.

The alt. stories DO NOT have to be just Relena with someone else. They can also be any other pairing. Of course, though, they must be het. pairings, as I am following BI's posting rules. I'll start the referral, but if you guys know of any other awesome stories, post them up too!

So when you post, include this info:

- Title of the fic
- Author
- Pairing
- Any warnings (ie. death, lemon, etc.)

If possible, include the website you read the story at and the url. It's not a must, but it would make reading a lot easier for the lazy ones * cough * me * cough *

On top of that, after you have read, we can discuss what you thought of them here. Awesome, eh?

Just one more thing, though, before I go on... * Naus scuffs toe on the floor * I have this strange aversion to reading stories where Heero's paired up with other people, so the stories I post, will be strictly Relenaxsomeone else. Don't be put off by that! It's just my weirdness. I encourage all posting.

What a great idea, Naus. I'm actually trying to come up with a little recruiting letter for Blissful Ignorance to send authors I've come across on the net who have really great fics to invite them to post on Blissful. Because it's not even just the Alt. pairing authors who don't really know about this place, it's a lot of the other anime series authors as well. So...anywho...gotta get on top of that.

I'd just like to mention that I think about three of the four stories you recommended can actually be found on the original Alternatives archive here on Blissful. Some people know about it, but a lot probably didn't realize we had an archive. (It kinda doesn't get updated anymore since we have the forums ^^;;; ) The addy is http://www.blissfulignorance.com/Alternatives

And if anyone has any favorite authors from any anime BI features or any Alternate pairings authors that they would like to see posting here, please let me know and I can send them a formal invitation to post here. Not bad of an idea. I'd rec some 3x11 fics but I'm working on something right now that will have ALL of the 3x11 fics I have found within the past 2 yrs. Just gotta get some ppl's opinions on the layout for the site before my friend and I go any farther on setting this thing up.

But if I come across some good stuff regarding other pairings, I'll make sure to post it here. There was some good 4x9 fic series I read 2 yrs ago on a ML I'm no longer on but I'll try my best to find it, it was a really good read. I also wished that there were more 4xC written but those too are hard to find.

I feel the exact same way you do about the Heero pairing. When he's with someone else, I totally cringe, but Relena, hey! That girl can hook up with anyone she wants, and I'm like hells yeah! I wonder why that is...?

HERE HERE!! I'd think that for the most part, we 1xR fans feel the same way. I want to say that its probably because Heero just had more interaction with Relena hence why if he were paired up with another female, it just wouldn't seem right. He never met Hilde, NEVER and seeing her unconscience body near the end doesn't count. He never had any contacts with Cathy and when he did, he thought it was Rel. And I can't see anything going on with Sally, Une, or Noin with Heero either. I mean this is just my opinion but in order to pair Heero up with any other female, you'd have to make not only the characters OOC, but AU. Its so much easier to write fics when the character had at least SOME screen time together in the series, hence why 4x9, 4xC, 3x11, 3xH, 2xR could work out. But those that can write the unusual, more power to your writing, don't let things make you quit.

I'm getting carried away here so I'll just shup up now and look for those fics.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY Sphinx!!! I had no idea that you already had archived that 4x9 fic series I've been looking for like FOREVER!!! Its Saphire Eyes by Liewe. So that already cuts my searching down like ALOT. I'm just glad you hosted it cause its been a long time since I read it on the ML I use to be on.

What about Alt. pairing stories that features yaoi/yuri pairings on the side? I heard the only yaoi/yuri pairing allow in BI is 3x4, but the story I had in mind isn't like that.......

And how about crossover pairings? Does that count as Alt. pairing here? Or am I going too far? :-?

You know, Jia, I thought about that, and I'm really not sure if it's within my power to say 'yes' or 'no.' It's a good question, though - one that should be addressed. For me, I'd think it would be best just to follow what applies to the rest of BI, but because Sphinx is the moderator of the Alt. forum, I'll run it by her.

Since I've let an author post a story on the Alternatives archive that was a crossover, I think that referrals of crossover Alternative pairings are fine.

Ok--here's the harder one. As for the yaoi/yuri side pairings that are not 3+4 featured in Alternatives pairings fics you would like to refer, I'm going to have to say I would like to stick to the rules of Blissful Ignorance on this one. This means that even though you may only want to offer a link to a fic that has a possible yaoi/yuri pairing this forum doesn't support, I still would appreciate it if people would respect the rules of the forum and not recommend those stories.

So, YES to crossovers, NO to yaoi/yuri side pairings not supported by BI. Sound fair enough?

Hope so...I do not want to seem like the party-pooper moderator here, but I think we should probably just stick with the rules, even when referring.

I have some fics which I would like to contribute here as well, some which i have stumbled across and have kept in my never ending favourite links folder I have this thing about saving every site I stumble across which features good alternate GW pairings. Although I am a big fan of Relena pairing up with any of the GW pilots.

Hmm, am I seeing a pattern of lemons here This was one of the first 4xR stories I have ever read. It was the author's first lemon but I think she did a great job It's what got me crazy about 4xR in the first place lol.

I just realized that I forgot to mentions where that story is archived. Anyhow, the last time I checked Fanfiction.net, Out of the Blue is still there; perhaps a search by author will help I recall seeing this hosted on another 2xR site, but I've lost track of that site If all fails, we can always email the author; or ask Loyce about this (I think she knows the author of this story as well.... )

That was an amazing story...

By the way, can I also post a "lost and found" note here? I stumbled upon this 4xR/1xC fic that seemed very interesting on FF.net, but I lost track of it, and was unable to find it again even with all the filter searches All I know is...
1. It's about 26 chapters long (yes, almost like a novel)
2. It has action/adventure elements in it.
Anyone heard/know anything about a story like this?
