Okay... here's one of the first Hellsing fics I wrote. Hope you all enjoy it.
The Decision
By Bekka Mouri-Hibiki
(A short little Hellsing thing. Hellsing isn?t mine.)
? There is no way I am keeping this baby, ? Integra leaned heavily on her fists as she rested them on her desk. Her icy blue eyes were fixed on the cause of her current problem. Her condition wasn?t showing yet and she didn?t believe she was carrying a child? HIS child until the pregnancy test told her so. Her blood turned to ice in her veins when the little stick showed two lines, confirming her biggest fear.
? Do you intend to run this organization by yourself until the day you die? ? Alucard stood a few feet from the desk, his arms at his sides and his fists clenched. ? You have no one to pass the leadership to when you die, my master. Wasn?t that the excuse you used when you called me on that night? You begged me to help you. No? YOU commanded me to help you! ?
? I was drunk! I had no idea what I was doing! ? Integra bore down on her fists harder. ? You should have sent me away! ?
? It?s too late for that now, ? Alucard growled.
? But it?s not too late for me to get rid of what you put on me, ? Integra reached for the telephone. ? I have to call a doctor right? ?
Alucard grabbed her hand and pulled it away from the phone, his grip almost too tight. ? You aren?t calling anyone. ?
? Let me go, Alucard. I command you to release me right now! ? Integra stared daggers at the vampire.
? You are not getting rid of that baby. It?s ours and I won?t allow it, ? Alucard grabbed Integra?s other arm and pulled her over the desk, careful not to hit her stomach on the heavy furniture. He wrapped his arms around her, putting her back to his chest and held her tight to him. ? I have a say in this even if you are my master. ?
? But it is MY body! I do not want some half-demon cancer growing inside of it! Now, let me go! ? Integra pushed against Alucard?s arms but it was no use.
? You seem to forget that DEMON part you keep referring to came from ME! ? Alucard snarled in her ear. He was much stronger than her but she would rather exhaust herself fighting than give up. He knew she didn?t care if she died from exhaustion? just as long as she didn?t have to carry and give birth to something that was half-vampire.
? I remember it all too well, ? Integra spat back.
? But you don?t seem to recall the events that resulted in this, do you? ?
? No! I don?t even remember that night, Alucard! ? Integra continued to fight.
? I do, ? Alucard muttered. ? You said that you loved me. You said it many times. I suppose that was just the bourbon talking though. ?
? I was very drunk. All I remember is waking up in my bed alone the next morning! You didn?t even have the decency to stay! ? Integra reminded him.
? Would you have rather awakened to a pile of ashes in your bed? ? Alucard snapped. ? Or maybe I should have just let you stay in my coffin. ?
? You took advantage of me! ? Integra lifted up her foot and brought it down hard on the middle of Alucard?s left foot. She did it several times in rapid succession before Alucard released her. She stepped out of his reach, smoothing her hair from her face.
? You didn?t have to do that, ? Alucard crossed his arms.
? Did I hurt you? ? Integra asked sarcastically.
? No. You scuffed my boot and it happens to be the other half to my favorite pair of boots, ? Alucard replied.
Integra growled, crossing her arms over her chest, ? Well, you didn?t have to sleep with me while I was drunk and get me pregnant. ?
? You asked me to, ? Alucard took a step towards Integra and she took two steps away.
? Don?t make me use my gun on you, Alucard. ?
Alucard smirked and took another step towards her, ? You wouldn?t dare. ?
? Why not? If I get rid of you, I can get rid of this baby as well. ?
? Why are you so hell-bent on destroying an innocent child? ? Alucard took another step and Integra went to the desk.
She pulled her gun from the top drawer and aimed for his head. ? It is half-vampire. It is half of the creature I hate the most! ?
? You forget something though, ? Alucard took another step.
? What am I forgetting? ? Integra cocked the hammer on the gun.
Alucard smirked; quite certain Integra would shoot if he pushed her any further. He stayed where he stood and spoke. ? You are forgetting two things actually. The first thing is that there will be no one to protect you if you destroy me. ?
? I will have to fend for myself then, ? Integra?s hand was steady but Alucard could see tears fighting to come to her eyes. ? What other thing am I forgetting? ?
? You forget that child you are carrying is also half Hellsing, ? Alucard watched as Integra lowered the gun very slowly. His words had hit a nerve? just as he knew they would. Integra?s hands went to the desk, the gun under her right palm as her shoulders began to shake. ? That child will be able to live forever and carry on the Hellsing name until the end of time. ?
Integra snapped her head up, her eyes ablaze with anger as tears poured down her cheeks. ? I cannot have a Hellsing with a vampire as its father! It will disgrace the family name! ?
? I think it would be more disgraceful if you kill the heir to your family?s name? perhaps the only heir that you will ever have. Did you even think of that? ? Alucard arched an eyebrow.
? I?m still young enough. I can find someone to love and have plenty of heirs with him! Besides, my family is sworn to protect this country from vampires, not have their bastard children! ? Integra?s stare was cold and hard by the time she finished speaking.
? Is that how it is? ? Alucard said as he put out his hand. The gun started to levitate and Integra tried to catch it but she failed. The gun landed in Alucard?s hand and he pitched it away. The weapon clattered on the marble floor somewhere in the shadows where it would be impossible to find until morning.
? What are you doing? ? Integra asked as Alucard walked around the desk. He seized her by the shoulders, this time bringing her to him face forward. Her eyes went wide as he removed her glasses then brought his mouth down upon hers, kissing her fiercely.
Alucard kissed her until he was certain she needed air and pulled away, her icy azure eyes wide with surprise as she stared at him. ? Then let me out of my contract. I will leave here and you can do as you please with our child, ? He whispered. ? I will take Celas and leave? I will never come back here again. ?
? You can?t take her! ? Integra sputtered.
? I made her and she is still under contract with me. She will come to me even if I leave her behind, ? Alucard said quietly. ? She will follow me to the ends of the Earth to be by my side? just like I would follow you. You can change that though? if you insist to hate me like you wish to believe. ?
Integra looked into Alucard?s eyes but she couldn?t feel him trying to control her. She knew he could do such things as influence peoples? minds but he wasn?t trying to influence her at all. He was leaving the decision up to her? and she wasn?t sure what she wanted.
He had been by her side for over ten years as her protector and her servant. She tried to think how she would manage without him but nothing came to mind. She had been raised to hate vampires, going so far as to stab her own throat when one had bitten her. She still didn?t know how she ended up in bed with Alucard but it had obviously happened.
She couldn?t argue with his damned logic because he was vocalizing all the fears she had when she was not sure if she was pregnant or not. The child would have Hellsing blood in it? but it would be half-vampire. It could carry on the family name forever but for the Hellsing family to be led by someone who was half-vampire seemed unfathomable. Her ancestors were surely turning in their graves over her being pregnant with the spawn of a vampire.
? What is your decision, my master? ? Alucard?s voice was quiet as he implored her for an answer. ? If you let me go, you can do as you please with the child. If you want to destroy it, I will not be able to protest for our ties will be severed. If I stay, I will do everything I can to make you keep the baby. If you want nothing to do with it after it is born, Celas and I will raise it and it will never need to know you are its mother. ?
? Celas and you? ? Integra asked.
? Yes. We will raise it as our own child and it will only know you as Sir Integra Wingates Hellsing, ? Alucard brought one of his hands up to Integra?s chin.
? But who will lead Hellsing when I die? Everyone will think the child belongs to Celas and you so they will never let it lead Hellsing. ?
? You said you would find someone to love. One of the children you have with that person can lead while our child stays in the shadows with Celas and I to help us eliminate the trash. No one will ever know its true origins and will always think it is belongs to Celas and I. ?
Integra felt a pain in her heart. She couldn?t imagine watching her child growing up and never knowing her as nothing but the leader of the organization. She couldn?t imagine a Hellsing growing up and never knowing of the family legacy. In order to rid herself of the child, she would have to rid herself of Alucard first? but could she?
? Your answer, my master. ?
Integra shut her eyes, ? Leave. I release you. ?
Alucard took her lips in another kiss, one slow and tender before his arms fell away from her like stones. He took a step back. ? I see. I shall go gather Celas and leave now. Goodbye, Integra Wingates Hellsing. ?
Integra opened her eyes as Alucard?s gloves disintegrated, her four words breaking the spell that had held him for so long. She watched as he faded into mist, her heart stopping as the realization that she would probably never see him again came crashing down on her. Her knees trembled and she fell to the floor, her eyes filling with tears. ~Oh God! What have I done? ~
**
? ALUCARD! ? Integra shot up straight in her bed, sweat covering her body as she panted for air. She looked around the room and realized it was all a dream when she found she was in her bed, not in her office. She placed a hand on her stomach involuntarily, feeling empty but relieved all at once.
Alucard materialized through the wall across from the foot of Integra?s bed, both guns drawn and looking ready for a fight. His eyes darted around the room, looking for a target and letting his arms fall to his sides when he didn?t find one. He looked at Integra a bit confused. ? What?s wrong, my master? You sounded like you were in trouble. ?
? I was having a nightmare, ? Integra shook her head. ? I called your name before I could stop myself. I?m sorry. ?
? It must have been one hell of a nightmare to scare you enough to call for me, ? Alucard smirked. ? I never imagined you the type to be scared by a dream. If that?s all it was, I shall leave now. ?
The sound of the word ?leave? sent a wave of panic through her when Alucard said it. ? You?re just going back to the underground prison, right? You?re not leaving, are you? ? Integra asked before she could think.
Alucard stopped, ? I don?t have anything in the other world to attend to so I guess I will be retiring to my room downstairs for now. Why do you ask? ?
Integra shook her head, ? It?s nothing. Never mind. You may go now. ?
Alucard nodded and bowed, ? As you wish, my master. ?
Integra watched as Alucard vanished through the wall. Once he was gone, she laid back down and tried to get back to sleep?
**
? Master? ? Celas was waiting in the hall when Alucard appeared. ? Is everything alright? I was reading and I thought I heard Sir Integra scream. ?
Alucard nodded once, ? Yes. She did. She had a nightmare that scared her. ?
? A nightmare? I would think Sir Integra isn?t susceptible to such things, ? Celas looked puzzled.
? You still have nightmares, correct? ? Alucard cocked his head to the side to glance at Celas. The young woman nodded. ? And they still scare you although you are immortal, I assume. ?
? Well? yes. But what does that have to do with Sir Integra? ? Celas was unsure of what to make of the distant sound in her master?s voice. It was almost like he was thinking of something else entirely as he spoke.
? She is a human and humans can be easily frightened when they sleep in spite of their constitution when they are awake, ? Alucard explained.
Celas nodded, ? Oh. ?
? I have things I must do so I?ll be leaving now, ? Alucard turned on his heel and walked to his room, shutting the door behind him.
Celas stood in the hall, blinking for a moment after the door was shut. ~Just what kind of nightmare could scare Sir Integra though? ~

Wow! We've got another new recuit!! Things seem to be looking up for our corner of the world, . . .
Anyways, I really did like this fic of yours. It was like Amidala said, It ends but it dosn't. In some strange way it gives the impression that Integra realized it was all a dream and moved on from that point, but when you flash to Seres at the end, she instills that seed of doubt that could allow you to continue with the story should you choose to do so.
Very clever.
You have an interesting way of looking at how Alucard and Integra would both view the situation if Integra was to ever be impegnated due to a night of with her servant. Too think that Alucard would leave Integra after all of that and raise the child who he wouldn't let know her as it's mother, . . . huh. Never thought of things being that way, but you did it very well!
Hope to see you writing here more in the future!

"We seem dead set on turning ourselves into little monsters, don't we? Wonder why that is? It's all the rage all of a sudden. And all of us, is sooo busy running around, trying to beat each other to the finish line that no one notices the big sign from God that says : Stop-Messing-with-my-Stuff." The dust bunnies and the plot bunnies are conspiering, . . . I think thats why I keep loosing all my socks.

I think I've seen this story on media-miner (maybe?), and I just remember reading and thinking - eek! Integra can't let him go!!!! I was so relieved at the end...
I've really enjoyed what you've posted here, you're fics are based on very good "out-of-the-box" concepts that work really really well.
Thanks for coming on over to another forum!
