All I Can't Have
Chapter 2

Relena was not sure how she made it through the rest of the day. Leaving Miss Meyers house was the worst of it, however. There was something about the woman that made her comfortable, that hour of her day was the most relaxing yet. Or, it would it been, had Heero not been just behind the door and just behind Relena?s eye lids every time she closed them.
At 9:30 Relena finally found herself heading home, thanking God for the early night. She simply ignored Heero and headed straight for her room, even beating him there to open up the door. Slamming it shut and leaning against it, Relena fought the rush of emotion she knew she would have.
?It?s been a very long, long day. You need some rest,? she scolded herself. Her gaze wondered around her freshly cleaned room. Sometimes, she admitted to herself grudgingly, being rich wasn?t to bad. When her gaze fell upon the bathroom door Relena knew she would have to take some kind of long soak, for her smell resembled that of, well, it?s best not to go there.
After filling up the bath with the hottest water possible, Relena peeled her clothes from her like old skin and sunk into the tub. She lay there for a bit, her hair sticking to her face with sweat and steam, and she closed her eyes. It took awhile but she finally was able to empty her thoughts, her mind blank and her body nice and cooked.
Finally, when the water turned lukewarm, Relena moved from the bath and into the fluffiest, most modest robe she had and fell onto her bed. It was then that she noticed her house phone was ringing. Why am I not hearing things anymore? she grumbled inwardly as she reached out a hand to take the phone.
?Relena Darlian,? she said, allowing weariness to creep into her voice.
Silence.
?Um?hello? Hello?? she asked again, waking up more and more as the silence continued. No wait, not silence, for she could faintly hear breathing. Relena couldn?t believe it, she was 22 years old and now she is getting a prank phone call?
?Whoever this is,? she said, now annoyed, ?You might want to rethink your career path. I have an entire team of security guards who have already traced this call. Good night!? she nearly slammed down the phone. In truth, she had no idea what her guards did when she wasn?t there, but knowing Heero as she did, her guess wasn?t to far off.

?Mr. Yuy??
?Hn??
A young intern turned, pulling his headphones off his ears. ?Miss Darlian just made a call to a payphone, I am not sure where. But neither of them said a word.?
The intern felt himself be pushed aside, not roughly, more like a child being pushed away from playing with poison. Heero bent over the console and clicked a few things here and there, to no success. ?If she calls again, tell me,? he said as he stood back up. Giving the intern a curt nod, Heero turned to leave the Watch Room, it was 11 and he needed to take some kind of extended nap. No sleeping, none at all, he couldn?t afford the dreams he already knew he was going to have.

Relena was startled from sleep once again by the shrill ringing of her phone. Her eyes still closed, Relena reached out a hand to pick up the phone. ?Relena Darlian,?
?Good morning, Miss Darlian, I have your schedule ready. Alrighty,? Relena cringed at the voice, a sunray shooting straight into her brain. ?At 8 we have a few appearances at the CL Civic Center and with various important people. 9:30 is another meeting with the President, he sees you a lot, doesn?t he? Oh, sorry! I didn?t mean to pry? anyway, at 10:20 you have-?
?Why did you need to talk to Heero, yesterday?? Relena gasped and clasped her hand over her mouth, a completely childish yet necessary thing to do. She couldn?t help herself, she words simply poured out of her. Relena opened her eyes to stare at the canopy roof of her bed. Oh no, oh no, oh no?shit.
Even Cass, the babbling sunshine made solid that she was, paused to digest what was said. And then she giggled, Relena nearly dropped the phone.
?Oh, I am sorry Miss Darlian, I was just surprised that you asked. We are?I mean,? Relena could hear the woman blush. ?We are going somewhere tonight.? She finished on an almost giddy note. A date, they were going on a date.
Suddenly, Relena couldn?t stand to hear the woman?s voice anymore, she could fire her. No! Don?t be an idiot. she scolded herself. But she realized that she needed off that phone, fast.
?Miss Darlian?? Cass inquired, apparently Relena had been lost in her thoughts a bit longer than intended.
?Sorry, Cass, but that is a bit of a surprise. I was beginning to think that Mr. Yuy was something of a recluse. I apologize for invading your personal life; my curiosity got the best of me. Could you call me after my meeting with the President to discuss the rest of my schedule? Thank you,? Relena spit out as politely and quickly as she could and slammed down the phone for the second time in the past 24 hours.

As usual, Heero was waiting for Relena at her door, holding a cup of coffee meant for her. If Heero felt gratitude, he would have fallen on his knees to thank God for his years of anti-emotional training. Although he was seething inside, he knew it did not appear so outwardly. She had asked Cass about his personal life? The nerve? But, secretly, Heero preferred this anger to the way he usual felt about her, maybe today he could concentrate.
But he knew this line of thought was already thrown to the fan when he saw what she had decided to wear that day.
Relena entered the hall like a goddess enters Olympia, with all heads turning to watch her, to want her. Her long, beautiful legs appeared beneath a short, a very short, black skirt- a skirt way to small for a businesswoman to be wearing. A black jacket was opened, revealing a white blouse beneath it. Much to Heero?s horror and surprise, as he he looked noticed that beneath the white blouse she wore a plainly visible black bra.
A smile played on her lips, but it was her hair that he noticed first. It was down, framing her face in angelic curls. When has she ever curled her hair? Heero bit down on his tongue, but other than this his face portrayed no emotion.
"Relena," he growled softly, she looked up at him. He had said her name.
She smiled. "Yes Heero?"
Moving closer to her, he leaned forward a bit so that only she could hear his words. "You are representing the entire Earth Sphere, you will not go out dressed as a whore,"
Angered flickered in her eyes. His words stung. "I will wear what I choose, Mr. Yuy,"
Heero just looked at her and than backed up, crossing his arms over his chest. He was blocking the hallway.
"I will call down for the limo to wait for you to change, Miss Darlian." He said, once again in monotone. For a moment he thought she might push past him, but instead she bit her lip, he could tell she was plotting. Finally, she said simply,
"No,"
"I don't want to have to force you, Miss Darlian-"
"Force me?" she cut him off. "What are you gonna do? Dress me yourself?"
Heero simply stared at her. "If need be,"
Relena's face fell open, anger, fear, fury? "You wouldn't dare-" but is was her turn to be cut off. Moving forward, Heero picked her up and threw her on her stomach upon his shoulder, his arm wrapped around her thighs. She clawed at his back, kicked at his chest, but he just carried her back into her room.
"How dare you! Put me down, Heero! Put me down! I'll change, you brute! Put me down now!"
Heero dumped her on the bed and turned to leave. Stopping at the door, he said with his back to her, "The limo will be waiting downstairs. Lance William will be your stand-by today, it's my day off,"
It still amazed Relena how his words, spoken with no emotion, no fervor, were able to stab at her. Sitting on the bed, her hair in disarray, she watched him walk out. "Shit..." she muttered.

It was only later that Relena realized that he had taken a day off, an entire day!, to go on his date with Cass. Luckily Relena was just getting into the limo and was able to get away with slamming herself against the seat. Heero's replacement, a graying bodyguard named Lance, was about as talkative as Cass. But, to Relena's relief, much less annoying.
"Are you ok, Miss Darlian?" He said with a smile. Relena had to smile back.
"Yes, thank you Lance. Really, you can call me Relena. I've told that to the entire staff hundreds of times,"
He continued to smile. "How about Miss Relena?"
Miss Relena smiled back, "Fine!"
They were on their way back to the President's house, Relena now clothed in a much more modest black skirt and jacket, her blouse a thicker white and not at all see-through. What was I thinking? Damn him. What made is all worse was that Heero had been right; she would have not only embarrassed herself, but the entire Earth Sphere.
"We are here, Miss Relena," Lance said. Relena looked up sharply, but smiled at him. It was forced, but he didn't seem to notice.
"Thank you Lance. The President asked that I come alone today, we have much more important matters to discuss."
Lance looked at her, unsure. ?Um, I don?t think I am supposed to let you??
?It?s fine, I promise.? Relena assured him as she stepped out of the limo and headed towards the President?s Victorian mansion.
Relena was used to being greeted by the various staff of politicians: cooks, butlers, maids. But, very much to Relena?s surprise, she was greeted by one of the bodyguards she has just assured Lance would be there. In truth, she had never met one of his personal guards, but if all the others were like this one she really didn?t want to. Big, blonde, and angry, a guard named ?Jake? led her to the Presidents office.
?He will be here in a minute,? the guard barked, Relena jumping slightly. Looking around his office, Relena just knew that the President was indeed a man?s man. The leather furniture, oak desk and bookshelves, the room was definitely masculine. It was when she finally decided to sit down upon the large red-leather sofa that the President finally joined her. Standing, she found herself breathless. She had seen him several times and just kept forgetting how handsome her was.
In walked President James Turner, the pride of colony L. Tall, covered by a rich natural tan that stayed on all year round, and topped of with a shag of blonde hair, it was a wonder that he was single. Bright blue eyes glanced over Relena, finally smiling when they reached her own violet ones. His suit was tailored to fit him perfectly; Relena could practically sense the muscles. She usually never really stared at men, to busy and all, but James was just a bit too delicious to ignore. Good to look at, that is; she couldn?t imagine actually being with him.
Sticking out a rather large hand, he grabbed hers and put it to his lips, his way of greeting women, whether in an office or on a date.
?It is wonderful to meet with you again, Miss Darlian,? he said, his voice deep, flowing over her like music.
Relena didn?t blush; she never did, and smiled back. ?I?ve told you many times to call me Relena, Mr. President,? she teased gently, like an old friend. And, truth be told, she could tell that he treated her the same way.
James laughed. ?Fine, if you promise to never let me hear you say that again! James, if you please. Now, if you please once again, will you take a seat? I have a proposition for you,? he said as he moved to the couch. Relena was slightly surprised, he usually circled around to sit at his desk; but she sat by him anyway.
Crossing her ankles modestly, she turned her face to look at him. ?Well James? What is it? If it?s about resource distribution again, I am sorry to say that I made a few calls but there is simply no way of making it fairer at this pres-? he cut her off with his laugh.
?What??
?That?s not what I asked you to come here for. Relena Darlian, once upon a time a Queen of the world, I wanted to ask you to come to dinner with me,?
Relena felt her mouth drop in surprise, although for propriety?s sake she quickly shut it. A date? He had called her in for a meeting to ask her out? And, to Relena?s further astonishment, she already knew that she would say no. Why am I saying no? When was the last time you went out on a date, eh? Look at him, any other woman would simply die to be you! But Relena could not, would not, say yes. He was handsome, simply delicious, but she did not feel for him. He seemed to read this in her eyes, but his smile only widened.
?Oh come now, Relena, don?t get so worried. I promise, just one night out to my favorite restaurant and I will leave you in peace. I just can?t go back to normality until I have wined and dined you at least once!? he half-begged in an irresistible puppy-like fashion. His grip on her hand was warm, almost as warm as her face had become.
She finally decided to open her mouth, emitting a sigh and then a smile. ?Ok then, James, you get one date,?

*sigh* Why are they being so stupid? I hope hope hope you bring Heero and Relena together soon, and none of this dating other people nonsense. Wahh!

But how my heart rejoiced at this part:
"I don't want to have to force you, Miss Darlian-"
"Force me?" she cut him off. "What are you gonna do? Dress me yourself?"
Heero simply stared at her. "If need be,"
Relena's face fell open, anger, fear, fury? "You wouldn't dare-" but is was her turn to be cut off. Moving forward, Heero picked her up and threw her on her stomach upon his shoulder, his arm wrapped around her thighs. She clawed at his back, kicked at his chest, but he just carried her back into her room.

Hilarious!

Why are they always so stubborn?

Of course I hope that doesn't last for long.
In the mean time, what exactly was that phone call about?
Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Can't wait for next chapter.!

jajajjajajj....Go Relena! Fight fire with fire!!!
I can't believe he accepted to go out on a date with that Cass!! :x
Oh, he will surely get what's coming to him soon!
I can't believe Relena actually went as bold as to wear an obvious mini-mini skirt and a see-through shirt with a black bra?!
Although it would have been incredibly awesome to see a nervous Heero squirming in the limo from having to stare at her dressed like that, what he did was right!
She had to change out of that, imagine the impression she would have caused??
Well, it would have made president James very nervous too!! That would have been fun! :D
I hope she has a great time with her date! She deserves it and Heero will surely be jealous! *_*
Nice turn of events!
Awesome quick update! :salute:
