[The wedding is back on! Yay! (You never had any doubt though, did you?!?!

Once again Relena found herself anxiously anticipating her wedding date, with the caterers and church and so forth rescheduled. Although Heero didn?t show it, she knew that he felt the same way. However, as Relena looked back on the events leading up to the wedding, she had a nagging worry that she knew the man that broke into her apartment from somewhere?she just couldn?t figure out where. Unfortunately, the answer came too clearly and all too soon.

She couldn?t believe her eyes. There was no way that this could be happening. The man that broke into her apartment, she remembered who he was! He was Chase Vaughn of the National Cinquirer, the most widely read tabloid in the Cinq Kingdom. But he had a far bigger connection to ?Miss Relena?; he was her jealous ex-boyfriend from back in high school. And he had plastered explicit, deceiving pictures of the Vice Foreign Minister in objectionable positions while revealing his connection to her. It looked as if the lady pacifist was leading a double life and cheating on her fianc?. She was on the front page, so even those that don?t read it would see it in line at the grocery store and so forth. Relena was devastated. The media can make you or break you in the vicious game of politics and in the minds of the people.

Heero, meanwhile, was at the grocery store getting stuff for lunch; bread, lunch meat, cheese, chips, you get the idea. As he was standing in line he happened to glance over the tabloids. The National Cinquirer caught his eye, because the woman he loved was on the front page. Curious and a little bit enraged that the press was trying to give her a rep right before the big day, he picked it up, found the article, and began to read. His jaw dropped in a mixture of hate, surprise, and pain, but mostly the pain that made him realize that she HAD had an affair with her ex-boyfriend, and that with her politician poker face she had been able to look him straight in the eye and lie to him. And to think that he had believed her and forgiven her! He was so mad that he left his cart in line and walked out of the store, not to be heard from for a long time.

Relena was getting a bit concerned. Heero hadn?t returned from the store with their lunch and Relena wanted to speak with him about the tabloid article. She frowned and dialed his apartment number to see if he had stopped at his house. No answer. She tried his cell phone, to no avail, seeing as Heero had dumped it in a garbage can on his way out of the store. A while later, she was even more worried; it doesn?t take three hours to pick up a few groceries! ?Oh no,? Relena thought in despair, ?He saw the article! He must not have realized that the pictures came from the night of the break-in.? Now frantic, Relena tried his cell phone again but Heero didn?t answer. Relena gently set the phone in the cradle and slid down the wall, holding her head in her hands as she cried. She had no idea that Heero still felt wary of their relationship since they talked it out. Then Relena remembered that Heero?s best friend, Duo, was in town. Duo would be the one other person that Heero would confide in about something like this. Relena picked the phone back up and called Duo to see if he knew where Heero had gone.
AN: There is an interesting twist coming up soon, so stay tuned! Hehehe Jessica you are sworn to secrecy and are not allowed to tell ANYONE what happens, k?
