This was written for LJ's Naruto100 Community. It was meant to be a drabble, but it didn't work out that way. Alas. I posted this on ff.net, as well as in my journal, but I figured I'd share it here. Besides, I guess the more I post this stuff, the more comfortable I'll feel sharing my sucky writing ...

It's a Shounen manga. Lots of fights and action, with some humor tossed in. And has a very extensive cast of characters. If you want, you can go to narutofan.com, and download their scanlations (You'll have to register). While it has "oh my god, please let this wrap up already!" moments ...

I'm not sure about the AU, but to answer some of your questions:

Sandaime means "The Third". His actual name is Sarutobi (A personal name hasn't been given yet.).

I'm going to assume "muz" is "must", and say yes. Kyuubi /is/ the name of the Nine-tails fox, and to make it something else would mean ...

I consider an "alternative pairing" in Naruto a pairing that happens that has no real basis in the canon (IE: Gaara and Hinata). But, you're right, there aren't any real canon couples.

Me, well, I do tend to base things on what's going on int he series; the psychobabble comes afterwards. >D

Timeshifter; We must've had different scanlations (or you have the Viz release of the manga), because what I read had said it was just his "Legacy", not necessarily outright saying such (about him behing his son), but it is a hint.

Bookworm: I've only seen it once or twice outside of my own speculation. I'm actually sort of more fond of the 4th being his Father. While it's something one can likely see a mile away, it makes sense. Part of the "Don't ask others to do what you aren't willing to do yourself" sort of thing. Err ...
