Relena rubbed her temples trying desperately to concentrate on the transcripts
in front of her, but she found her mind constantly distracted by thoughts of
him. His call tonight had been disturbing the sound in his voice was not his,
it was weak and painful, the sound of one's voice right before death.
"Damn you Heero."
The
cool breeze distracted her thoughts momentarily; she looked out of the window
and noticed that it was already dark. She hated the night for that was the time
when the loneliness would set in, when her need and desire for Heero would once
again resurface; though in a way it was also a comfort to her, a time when she
could hide in the shadows and allow her real feelings to surface without fear.
Yes. The lonely night had become the only time when her head was clear and her
emotions honest. Why had she ended it with him? Why was she still denying her
true feelings? She left her seat by her desk and crossed the floor to the
window; almost feeling like a fairy tale maiden trapped high in her tower and
wishing, looking, for any kind of release from her self made prison. Sitting
down on the sill she began to cry. "Oh Heero. I'm so sorry."
//Listen
as the wind blows//
//From across the great divide//
//Voices trapped in yearning//
//Memories trapped in time//
//The night is my companion//
//and solitude my guide//
//Would I spend forever here//
//And not be satisfied//
Relena
scratched the back of her neck her nerves were on fire and she felt ready to
jump out of her skin. She had to get out, she had to go somewhere, she didn't
know where and she didn't care. She only knew she had to get away from the
world for a while, from the false friends and idle chatter of even falser
flattery and chit chat; the shallowness of the political world and the
savageness of the political arena. No one really cared for her, no one really
loved her. She remembered briefly their last conversation.
"You
are important to many people Relena, even though to them you are nothing more
than a figurehead." "Is that what I am to you Heero? Nothing more
than a figurehead, some symbol you feel you must protect to maintain
peace?" "You are many things to many people Relena. What you are to
me is irrelevant."
She
remembered exploding at those words, screaming for him to leave, for at the
time she did not know what he had meant, so she had lashed out and accused him
of trying to control her, of using her as if she were nothing more than a job
and a cheap whore to keep his bed warm at night. She had been such a fool to
not understand his words, but now she understood. He had not been saying she
was irrelevant to him but he was irrelevant to her as far as the people were
concerned. She had been such a fool. There was only Heero. Only Heero who she
knew loved her, even now when she had broken his heart, she knew he was
searching for her. And she would allow herself to be found by him, to be
ravaged by him, to be punished for her lack of faith in their love; she quietly
slipped out of the window.
//Through
this world I've stumbled//
//So many time betrayed//
//Trying to find an honest word//
//to find the truth enslaved//
//Oh you speak to me in riddles and/
//you speak to me in rhymes//
//My body aches to breathe your breath//
//your words keep me alive//
Relena
pulled her coat around her a little more, part of her fearing what might be
lurking behind the corners though the other part of her hoping it would be
Heero. She looked at her watch; five hours until the sun was up. No. She begged
the night, not to end so soon, for she knew when morning came and she had not
found him she would be forced to go back to the life she was fleeing; her life
without Heero. "Damn it Heero! Where are you?"
Against her better judgment she turned into an alley and leaned back against
the wall hiding her face in her hands on the verge of tears again. Her pounding
heart stopped suddenly as she felt a presence beside her. Oh god, it was a
thief she was going to die, but then again her heartache for Heero would be
gone. She closed her eyes frozen as she felt the hand on her shoulder.
"I
was just coming for you."
Relena
slowly blinked open her eyes at the voice. She could not even say his name all
she could do was wrap her arms around him and relish in the embrace he
returned. She pulled herself back and looked into his face, he was almost
unrecognizable to her, thin and pale, a ghostly version of the strong man he
used to be.
"My
God Heero."
"I'm
fine." His voice was distorted as he caught himself from collapsing on top
of her from exhaustion. Her eyes searched the streets seeing a flashing neon
sign that simply read HOTEL.
"Come
with me Heero." The weight of his body strained her but she didn't care,
she had found him.
//Into
this night I wander//
//it's morning that I dread//
//Another day of knowing of//
//the path I fear to tread//
Heero
moaned softly feeling the warm water pouring over his head; even the washcloth
felt soft despite it's rough scrubbing against his skin; but then perhaps it
was the person bathing him that took away any of his discomfort. He grabbed her
wrist, noticing his grip was weak enough for her to squirm out of.
"Well
you definitely look cleaner." His vision was somewhat blurry but he heard
the tender gentleness of her voice clearly. "Can you stand up?"
He
felt like a child depending on her like this, he had never in his life been so
weak, he tried to shrug away from her arms but almost stumbled though she
caught him.
"I'm
fine."
"Be
quiet will you. And just let me help you for once."
He
tried to growl another protest but his mouth was to dry. He felt warm again as
she wrapped a towel around him and helped him stagger to the bed.
She took a deep breath as he fell onto the bed face first, moaning, she lifted
his legs under the covers and pulled them up around him. She then sat beside
him and began tending to his injured hand with the gauze and antiseptic
ointment she had gotten from the front desk. "How could've you let
yourself get to this point. I'm not worth it Heero. All I've done is hurt you.
I've always accused you of being the one afraid of emotions and I never
realized that I've been just as afraid of them myself. But there will be no
more fear Heero. Neither one of us need to be afraid anymore. We'll simply
start over with no barriers, no hang-ups." She knotted the ends of the
bandage together and then rose briefly enough to strip herself of her own
clothing before climbing into the other side of the bed. She lay on her side
looking at him again, tracing his lips with her fingers. "Never again will
I deny myself of you, or us." She pulled back her hand and rested it
beside her head on the pillow, allowing herself to finally have a night of
peaceful sleep.
//On
into the sea of waking dreams//
//I follow without pride//
//Nothing stands between us here//
//And I won't be denied//
Heero
heard himself groaning as he slowly began to wake up. At first he was unsure of
where he was or of what had happened. He vaguely remembered walking the
streets, bent on destroying Relena when she suddenly appeared before him, no it
must have been a dream, she was gone and she would never return. He opened his
eyes and saw her sitting beside him, her dark gold tresses draped over her
front and down her back. Her knees were to her chest, her arms curled around
them, concealing her slender nakedness, he smiled weakly-give her wings and she
would look like an angel. He snorted a laugh, rolling on his back, no he still
must be dreaming. He saw her hand reaching for him, her voice soft and silky as
she closed his lids. "I'll explain later, just get some more sleep
okay?" Heero's eyes remained closed to his dream angel's command.
//And I would be
the one//
//to hold you down//
//kiss you so hard//
//I'll take your breath away//
//and after I'd wipe away the tears//
//Just close your eyes dear//
Relena
swept her hand to her cheek, swatting away an imaginary fly before realizing
that she was being awoken with a soft caress to her cheek. She remembered where
she was and whom it was she was here with; she heard him speak. "Earlier I
thought you were a dream."
She
rolled over to face him. "They say if you wish hard enough dreams do come
true."
She
looked into his eyes, the circles were gone and the blue had returned, but
still he looked tired and a bit weak. She covered his hand with hers and
adjusted her body a little bringing up her knee, it brushed against his half
hardening sex, she noticed him close his eyes and hiss in a breathe. She
laughed to herself. Men. They could be at death's door and they'd still be
horny as hell and wanting once last fling for a memory.
She raised herself on her knees and pulled herself over to him until she was
straddling him. "You must be feeling better."
He
stroked her arms. "Bad timing." She laced her fingers with his ,
keeping in mind his sore hand, as she held them prisoner by his temples.
"Not really."
He
half smiled, glad that she was here but then he grew serious. "I was on my
way to kill you last night...and myself."
She
titled her head not the least bit surprised. "I've never denied you that
opportunity, though I know you could never go through with it and you never
would."
He
cocked a brow continuing to look into her eyes. "No. I wouldn't. I
shouldn't have gotten so crazy, but losing you I can't..."
His
sentence was broken with her lustful kiss and the sudden sensation of her
impaling herself onto his sex, all the while continuing to pin his hands to his
temples. She stopped just then, breaking the kiss long enough to speak.
"No more apologies. No more regrets or living in the past. Here, now and
the future is all that matters."
Before he could speak she stole his thoughts with another kiss as she began to
grind her hips against his groin. He grimaced in sweet agony feeling her
totally possessing him and his thoughts. The build-up of sexual tension in his
manhood began screaming for release so badly that it burned. She hovered over
him, caging him, biting at his lips, throat and his nipples, then out of
nowhere she released his hands and arched back violently, whipping her hair to
float down her back. He grabbed at hips as he lost himself inside of her with a
growl of sexual gratification as she shook a throaty sob released from her gut.
With a single elegant motion she arched her body back forward to hover over him
again, her breathing hard and as unsteady as his.
She
looked into his eyes once more and noticed a few dried tears around their rims
that were once again drowsy. "Just close your eyes and sleep Heero. I'll
still be here when you wake."
He
smiled thinly, half out of it, opening his mouth but unable to speak. Relena
leaned over him and kissed that mouth gently, her tongue tasting the salt of
his tears and her fingers brushing away the others. She smiled bursting with
silent joy as she whispered against his cheek. " Just close your eyes
Heero. Just close your eyes because I promise you from now on I'll always be
there when you open them."
//And
I would be the one//
//to hold you down//
//kiss you so hard//
//I'll take your breath away//
//and after I wipe away the tears//
//Just close your eyes dear//
