Street signals and car headlights colored the rain-soaked streets like wet paint. Darkness meant silence, but here it was laced with the hum of drizzle, the whirl of tires on pavement- the wild thumping of his heart.
Understandable - she was in front of him, after all.
Until now, he hadn’t known her hair was tarnished gold when drenched, or that her eyelashes were so long that rain beaded on them in rounded jewels. He seemed to always be learning new things about her.
“Heero!”
It was good to know she still said his name the same, though.
“Hello, Relena.”
