Sunlight poured into the pale-rosy-cheek-pink room, filled with loved-stuff animals, their fake fur worn to the core. In the center, she sat, fitted in white lace with silk gloves. Her lips resembled a clown with the red smudge that -surrounded- her lips. It was the best she could do. Her cheeks had pink blush that crept up her collar bone and blue eyeshadow that touched her hair-line.
She was beautiful.
She poured the tea carefully, with skilled, tactful fingers to her smiling companion’s quarter size cup and her own.
With the grace only a six year old possessed, she held the cup to her lips before setting it down and folding her hands in her lap: legs crossed. She smoothed out her skirt once before folding her hands once again and smiled politely to Mr. Teddy bear.
He smiled back.
"How was work, honey?" Her young, sweet voice asked, laced with curiosity.
Mr. Teddy smiled.
"Good?" I’m so happy. You bring home money?"
Mr. Teddy smiled.
Relena held her hands to her lips and smiled dramatically. "A dollar! Oh Teddy, now I can buy Suzie a white pony for her first birthday." Suddenly her smiled faded as she held up a naked doll by the leg with a thoughtful expression. "Or perhaps I can buy her a new dress and a white pony."
Mr. Teddy smiled.
She smiled. She was very smart. Half of the dollar she could buy a white pony and the other half she can buy a new dress for Suzie. This family thing wasn’t so hard after all. Grown ups have it far easier than she did.
"We’re such good parents."
Mr. Teddy’s head dropped, his lips still reaching for the sky. "Oh no! You spilt your tea!" Quickly she leaned over and carefully wiped the imaginary tea before it dripped on the white carpet. That was too close.
"Honey, do be more careful."
Mr. Teddy smiled, assuring the young girl he would be much more careful in the future. He would be much more alerted to his tea cup. Feeling more confident at his mistake she kissed him: right on the lips.
Her cheeks stained red she pulled the teddy into her grasp. "I love you. Your the perfect husband." She held up her naked doll once again. "It’s Suize’s bed time!"
Practically throwing the baby girl inside the fake crib, Relena plastered a kiss on the porcelain cheek and pressed Mr. Teddy’s knitted lips against the baby girl as well.
"Relena?" Relena’s older brother called through the French style doors. "Time to get into bed." She scurried across the room, Mr. Teddy head locked in her elbow and flew into bed with a plop.
"Yes Millie. Goodnight."
She waited patiently for the footsteps were distant and echoing until she spoke to her one foot husband. "Mr. Teddy, it’s time to sleep."
Mr. Teddy smiled. She sighed and rolled over, suddenly sad. Although Mr. Teddy treated her right and was polite, nice, and always smiled, she longed for something more. Something her six year old heart couldn’t decipher. Suddenly after careful analyzing, she pinpointed the problem.
"I know," She said to no one in particular, "Mr. Panda would make the perfect husband!"
She would try again tomorrow. Plus, maybe Millardo could walk her to the toy store and buy her that new kitchen set she had been eyeing for the last month.
She closed her eyes and smiled. Life was good.

Opening one eye, I regarded the sleeping man next to me, my husband. I had found the perfect husband.
And no, it wasn’t Mr. Panda. He couldn’t sit up by himself. I had to tie a stick to his back to keep it straight and that was too tacky looking. This husband however had life, breathed, smelled -wonderfully that is- and smiled rarely but truly.
And although he wouldn’t have a tea party with me -trust me, I tried,- he was everything I wanted. Everything I needed and longed for.
Smiling at my sweet dream that brought back the memory of playing house, I looked at Heero with a grateful heart. Kissing his forehead, I scooted closer to his form, suddenly aware that neither of us were wearing clothes.
Great, I smirked, after the night we had I’ll probably have back pain tomorrow. I laughed silently and I closed my eyes to go back to sleep however a single thought haunted me.
Millardo never did take me to get that kitchen set. Damn.
