LOST SOULS

By lady Yuy

The windows outside Relena’s house shook with force. The wind blew hard like a wolf’s cry. Relena sat on her desk. The door opened and a butler came in with a cup of tea on his hands.

"Ugly weather, my lady?" the butler asked.

"Yes, indeed it is." Relena answered.

"Will you need anything else?" Butler asked.

"No, you can go to bed. I will go soon; after I finish writing this report." Relena answered.

The butler left. Relena stared at a letter on her desk. There where bunch of books and papers scatter around, but that one letter she picked up was more noticeable than the rest. She read it once, twice, again, and again.

It read:

"To: Relena Peacecraft: It’s our honor to congratulate you for your achievements in your career as a reporter. You have requested to cover the conflict in Panama. We have granted it. Good luck with your new assignment. Glendale Board of Newspaper."

Relena couldn’t believe it. She had the assignment she wanted for so long. After all her own hard work, not with her daddy’s help, but alone. He rather pampered her too much. After the disappearance of her older brother, Milliardo, she had become the only child. Her dad was very overprotective. The only thing that stopped her from going was her father. He didn’t like the idea of her going away. Relena knew how to get what she wanted from her father. So, she knew there wasn’t going to be any problem. She slightly closed her laptop and went to sleep.

The following morning she was up before the sun and ready to go. Her father came in and begged her not to leave.

"Sweetie, you can work anywhere here. Just name it and you’ll have it." Relena’s dad said.

"No dad, I want to do this. I will be fine." Relena protested.

The phone rang and she picked up the phone. She talked and hung up.

"Dad, my plane is ready. I must go." Relena said.

"You will be fine?" Relena’s dad question.

"Yes. I will call you everyday." Relena said.

"Come here" Relena’s dad, said.

They hugged and kissed goodbye.

"Take care" those were the last words her father said before Relena nodded and quickly left.

The flight from Europe to Panama was long. What was she to expect from this challenge? She knew the basics of her assignment. The military was fighting the rebels of town. She knew that there might be danger, but for her career; she would take the risk. When she arrived, she would get a room and explore the city. With those last thoughts, Relena fell asleep.

The plane landed in Panama in the afternoon. Relena stretched and got out to get a taxi. People in Panama were very friendly and kind but, when she bought a bottle of water, a kid came and stole the money she was going to pay the water with.

"No wonder, the government was all corrupted." She shrugged, paid for the water and left to the Tropical hotel.

The hotel wasn’t luxurious, but the best part of all was the huge balcony the room had. The view was gorgeous; Relena could see the entire town. The climate was hot and humid. She took a cold shower to sooth her body. Relena got into her bed and wrote in her journal. She quickly felt asleep exhausted from her long journey.

*******************

A man hanged lazily in his hamaca. His moss air playfully moved with the wind. He drank from his mug full of coconut water. Next to the mug he had a plate with cut coconut pieces. It was covered with lemon juice and spiced with salt and chilly. He drank and it ran down his chin, tracing his formed neck and resting in his chest, which was expose by the open shirt he had on. His Prussian eyes slowly closed. His mind brought a vision he didn’t like. A beautiful girl with curly hair appeared. Two were holding her back man and he saw how a bullet went through her.

"No" the handsome guy said.

"Heero" a guy with a long braid said as he poked his arm.

Heero instantly grab Duo’s arm and twisted it.

"Ouch!" Duo screamed.

Heero opened his eyes to see Duo his friend in pain.

"Ah, it’s only you." Heero said as he let go off him.

"Yes it’s me. How you doing buddy?" Duo asked.

"I am fine." Heero answer.

"I’m in a hurry. Night will be here soon and I need supplies." Duo said.

Heero got up and walked towards his poor built house. He only had the essential things. A bed, broken chairs a small table with a pitcher of water and in the far corner of the hut, a big trunk. The trunk was buried in the sand and to open it, the sand had to be removed. Duo greedily opened the trunk. He picked the weapons he needed like a child looking for presents in a toy store.

"All done, we attack tonight. Want to join us?" Duo asked.

"No" Heero said determine. "C’mon it will be fun," Duo said. Heero shook his head.

"Okay I will see you around." Duo said as he waved goodbye and disappeared into the night. Heero lay on the sand looking up at the sky.

The following night, Relena sat near the balcony of her bedroom. She had finish talking with her dad. She almost fell asleep while talking. As soon as she saw the sparkling night, she had to write in her journal. Relena wrote everything about her report.

"I don’t know how much longer must I stay here, but I love it. The rebels are revolting against the government. A young boy leads them. The youth of course, are the first to jump for freedom and justice. Duo Maxwell is his name. The first time I saw him was when I was in a cafe drinking my lemonade one afternoon. His brown, long braid was the first thing I saw. With his wicked smile and big sparkling round eyes, he fought the military. He seemed to be a brave boy... and" <yawn>

Relena covered her mouth when she yawned. She was too tired to continue and she closed her book. She went to bed thinking of her big day tomorrow. Relena had to do a live report from a battle site. She was too excited, but afraid at the same time.

Her day the following morning was as usual. She got up and took a shower. Then she went downstairs to breakfast and then she went off to meet her camera boy. Her camera boy was named Trowa. She giggled to see his long bangs that cover half of the lens. The scene she chose to conduct her report wasn’t heated yet. The police were arresting some rebels. She went on air, where half of Europe was watching. Her father specially. As any reporter she asked the opinion of the people but many of them didn’t bother with her presence. After her introduction to the problem she was off air and free for the day. She tanked Trowa and asked him to meet her back here for the second shot in a couple of hours. He agreed and left. Relena had her eye in a special bar she saw not long from where she was.

******************

"Heeeeeeeeroooooooooo" Duo screamed out.

Heero came running out of his hut.

"What’s the matter?" Heero asked.

"Those bastards took my men." Duo said trying to catch his breath. "I- need- weapons..." Duo continued as he breathed slowly.

"Anything, but come in" Heero said.

Duo settled down. He explained his plan he had in mind to rescue his men who the police had arrested. Duo waited to see if Heero would offer his help. But, Heero listened without saying a word.

"So what you think?" Duo asked.

"Pretty smart of you to distract the police in one base by disturbing another base three blocks away." Heero said.

"I need my men back." Duo said. "Why don’t you come with me? Just like the good old days." Duo continued.

"No can do. I am going grocery shopping. I need my own things. But, I will be around to see how they react." Heero said coldly.

"Okay but you are missing all the fun." Duo said and left.

Duo’s plan worked beautifully. The only problem was that they also disturbed the public. The police were confused because there were people screaming and running all over the place trying to get away from the fire blast. It was so confusing that the police couldn’t pick out who was who so they began to shoot at everybody.

Relena saw people running down the hill; many of them bumped into each other. Just then she remembered her meeting with Trowa. She paid for her drink and left, but only to find complete chaos outside the bar. There was shooting everywhere. When she reached Trowa a bullet hit him when he covered her from it. He landed dead on the floor. Relena was paralyzed, shocked with terror. Beggars used this opportunity to grab food and money from people purses that were running away. One of them stole Relena’s purse that had her cellular phone, her hotels key and most important her id and passport. She cried in desperation. She needed a phone and pronto. The only place that came to her head was the bar she’d been in before.

Heero in the meantime was sitting inside the bar Relena had been in before. His eyes concentrating outside. The police were scared to death for their lives. Nut cases he thought. Heero got bored of the scene and left after paying. Just when he stepped out the door, a young beautiful girl bumped into him. Relena went down on her butt but Heero didn’t move an inch by the impact. She looked up to see an attractive face with lovely eyes like no other. A big boom in the back brought her out of her trance. She only needed help and this guy look good enough to her.

Heero was upset that this lady had bumped into him. She caused him to drop an orange. She was lucky at least to posses such beauty, otherwise, he would have insulted her. Heero looked down to see if she was able to get up. He saw her standing next to him talking like a parrot none stop.

"Listen, My name is Relena, I am a reporter but someone stole my purse and I need help to get out of the island and get somewhere safe. But, without my id or passport I can’t."

Relena tried to explain to this boy but he seemed distracted.

"Hello?" Relena said to grab his attention.

"What" Heero asked irritated?

"I need means of transportation. Got a car, a scooter or even a damn bike will do fine." Relena scream out.

"I own a plane," Heero finally said unconsciously.

"Good. Can you take me somewhere?" Relena said.

"Nope, can’t" Heero said as he began to move away.

"Wait!" "I will pay you" Relena said walking after him.

Heero stopped. "How much?" Heero asked.

"Um…$5,000" Relena said hesitantly.

"Nope. $10,000 or nothing." Heero said.

"It’s a deal," Relena said.

"Lady I need the money first" Heero said.

Not far from them three guys from the military stood watching the conversation between Heero and Relena. They took extreme interest when they heard money.

"I will give it to you when I see you again." Relena said.

"Fine. Meet me tomorrow at 6 a.m. sharp in pier #7. Don’t be late, you don’t want to be left behind." Heero reply.

He waved bye and walked away from the crowd. Relena relief to be still alive hurried to the hotel.

Just when Heero was eating his dinner, lobster for the third time in a row. He thought about his odd encounter with the lady of blue eyes. He only remembered that he was going to take her somewhere and he was going to get pay for it too.

"What was her name?" Heero question himself. "Oh, well. I will soon fine out tomorrow." Heero answered himself.

The following morning Heero reached his plane to find a figure crouched next to the wheel of the plane. He smiled when he saw that it was the lady of the previous day. Relena woke up when she felt someone watching her. She woke to see the young boy next to her.

"Up so early?" Heero asked.

"Yes! I didn’t want to give you any chances of leaving me behind so I sleep the night here." Relena said stretching.

"Good thinking" Heero said playfully. Relena gave Heero the money that they agreed to. Heero placed it in his vest pocket.

"Of all the people to get stuck with, I get stuck with a guy who makes fun of me. I will tell on him once I talk to my dad; then he will see whom he’s messing with."

"Hello" Heero waved across Relena’s face.

"Yes?" Relena answered.

"We will leave as soon as the tank gets full of gas." Heero said.

Relena nodded.

"So what is your name again?" Heero question.

"Relena" She answered. "What’s yours?" She asked,

"Heero" he said.

Not far from them, a car approached. Heero looked up to see a jeep with three guys dressed in uniforms. He could recognize the military symbol anywhere. "Friends of yours?" Heero asked Relena. She shook her head. Without warning one of them took a rifle out and began to shoot. Heero grabbed Relena and pulled her inside the plane. He shut the door behind him. One bullet hit the mirror on his side.

"Damn. They hit my plane."

Heero said as he whisper something under his breath as started the engine. The plane took off seconds later. The jeep was nowhere to be seen. The sky was light blue and full of clouds. Relena sighed as she leaned back to her seat. She observed the inside of the old plane Heero noticed.

"I know it’s old but it’s pretty safe." Heero said.

Relena closed her eyes before telling him that they should be headed to nearest airport of Costa Rica. Her father had partners there that could help her.

"No problem." Heero said.

It wasn’t before an hour later when Relena smelled fuel.

"What is that smell?" She questioned Heero.

Heero looked at her with hesitant eyes and then he said it.

"The plane is leaking and we are running out of fuel."

Relena heard him say it in the fastest calmest voice she ever heard. He even hit the meter to check if it was right.

"What?" Relena said panicking.

"Okay. Listen. What was your name again?" Heero asked.

"Relena" she answered.

"Okay." Listen Relena. Put this on and don’t start screaming."

Heero said as he gave her a suit. Relena was too terrified to do otherwise. She wore it holding her possessions in her backpack on her lap. Heero quickly put his suit on and held onto another small box and some of his own personal stuff. Then he tried to control the plane as it lost speed and slowly went down. Relena held tight to her seat. The plane turned and turned until Heero got hold of it and made a ruff landing in the ocean. Now the problem was that they were sinking. Heero kicked Relena out the plane. He followed after her. Heero pulled the cord from the small box and it popped open to be a small raft. Relena raced to get to the boat. Heero beat her to it and helped her up. Both watched as the plane sunk. Heero in the meantime was murmuring something and then started cursing out loud. His plane was gone. Rowing with their hands, they headed toward the closest island around.

Once they reached the island, Heero pulled the raft in. Relena lay in the sand looking up at the big bright sun. Her breath was steady and relaxed. She couldn’t believe that she barely died. Thanks to this guy she was alive, but now what? Heero covered the sun from Relena’s sight when he stood in front of her.

"Are you all right?" Heero question.

"I’m okay, but I am sorry about your plane." Relena said.

Heero didn’t say anything. Minutes later he told her that they needed to move in the island incase the men came looking for them.

"We can’t stay in one place the whole time." Heero said.

"What if someone tries to find us? And we are nowhere to be found?" Relena questioned.

"Who is going to search for us may I know?" Heero asked Relena.

"My father, once he notices that I am not in Panama, will search for me." She answered.

"It’s a matter of time. That’s all." She added.

"Okay. But, in the meantime, we are stuck here." Heero said.

"Then everything is settled. Let’s go" Heero said and walked into the jungle.

"Wait for me!" Relena shouted.

It seemed like they walked for hours in Relena’s mind. Just when night crawled in, Heero decided to stop.

"We need to build a bed or something to rest on." Heero said as he looked up to see palm trees.

"Bed, built?" Relena question.

Heero noticed how clueless Relena was. He ignored her for the time being and began to climb the tree. Palm leaves drop to the floor where Relena was standing.

"Can you watch it!" Relena scream out to him.

"What? I can’t hear you." Heero shouted back.

"Never mind." Relena murmured as she sat away on a rock.

She watched Heero used all the leaves and placed them in a pile all neat like a bed. From his small backpack he took out a thin sheet. It looked transparent to her with small little holes all over.

"What’s that for?" Relena question.

"Mosquitoes" Heero answer.

"Listen; gather wood to turn a fire on" Heero told her.

Relena didn’t go far to collect pieces of wood. She came back running when she heard frog’s croaks.

Soon there was a fire burning. Relena saw how Heero cut a lizard and placed it over the fire. He also cut down some coconuts to feed Relena.

"Are you really going to eat that?" Relena asked Heero in disgust.

"Yep" Heero answer. "Try it. It tasted like chicken." He added.

"I prefer to starve." Relena answer.

Heero shrugged. Relena headed towards the bed just when Heero was about to eat a piece of meat. Heero turned to tell her something.

"And what are you doing?" Heero asked mouth full of lizard meat.

"I am going to bed." Relena answer.

"You mean my bed that I built by myself for me.

"Well miss I don’t want to do anything because I pay you to do everything" Heero said sarcastically.

"What?" Relena said angrily. "But, I pay you" Relena said.

"Yes, you pay me to fly my plane but not to buy me. So if it’s because the money you think you can push me around, here," Heero said as he threw her the money she had given him before.

"How dare you!" Relena said.

"Now, if you excuse me. I am going to rest." Heero said and passed by her. He jumped into the palm bed and stretched his arms out. "Ha" Heero said satisfy.

"That thing! How dare he treat me without respect? He has no manners. Fine, he can keep his stupid bed and eat his stupid lizard. I don’t care. Just wait till my dad rescues me."

Relena walked back to the fire. She picked the pieces of coconut and ate slowly. Her sight felt in the cooked lizard on the fire. Her stomach growled. She didn’t like the idea of eating that but she had no other choice. Relena looked back to see Heero asleep. Secure that he wasn’t watching she took a piece of meat and ate it. It did taste like chicken. Relena continue to eat as she tried to forget that she was eating a lizard.

Heero peeked through his half open eyes to watch what Relena was doing. He saw how she ate the lizard that she had rejected minutes ago. Heero smiled triumphantly and closed his eyes again. Relena was fine until she heard more weird and strange noises. She looked up to hear toads and the sound of crickets surrounding her. She dropped what she had in her hands and hurried towards Heero. Heero woke up when he felt something very soft and warm next to him. He opened his eyes to see Relena next to him.

"What are you doing?" Heero question her.

"I-I-I.... I heard noises out there. Can I stay here please?" Relena said sweetly close to tears.

"Oh, okay" Heero said and moved over. Relena crawled next to him; close to his chest and felt asleep.

The following morning Heero woke up to catch a fish in the beach. Relena went to see him once she was awake. She saw him on the top of a rock.

"Good morning" Relena said.

"Hi" Heero said.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Fishing", Heero said.

"I can help" Relena offered.

Heero signal her to come with him.

"Do you know how to clean a fish?" He asked.

She shook her head.

"Well, then learn." He said.

Heero cut the fish open taking out the intestines and the scales off. Relena turned pale as she saw blood. Heero’s rolled his eyes.

"Can you go get wood to cook the fish?" Heero asked

"Sure" Relena said and run out to get wood. After their morning meal they were off again. But, before they commenced their walk, Relena had to get comfortable.

"Heero, can I borrow your knife?" She asked.

"Here?" Heero said.

Relena used the knife to cut her shirt through the middle. She used the two pieces of cloth that were hanging and tied them into a knot. The knot reached up to her breasts. Her belly freed for the sun to burn. Heero watched attentively. He saw her milky skin that would soon be tan. She was slim and her tummy was flat, perfectly shaped to her waits, hips and legs. Heero shuddered and ignored the fact that she was somewhat appealing to him. Heero also got comfortable. He took his vest off and wore a thin shirt, which exhibited his muscular arms. Relena stared amazed to see what he had hidden from her all this day. His arms where very muscular and his abs were not to question at all. Comfortable for the trip they continued.

Relena could feel the branches hitting her face as she followed Heero deep into the jungle. Relena didn’t have much to say to this guy she just met. But, she tried to make a conversation with him in vain. He was concentrated on their path and he wasn’t a big talker either. So she stayed quiet until she couldn’t bare it. Finally she began to tell him about her career and her family. She told him about her adventures around the world and about the people she met. What Heero heard was this girl he had just meet telling him her entire life. He took great interest to learn that she wasn’t just a pampered girl but that she had seen the cruelty of the military. This mere girl, whose beauty had stunned him since the moment he laid eyes on her, amused him.

"You know Heero, from all the countries I have visited your country is the best yet." Relena said.

That was when Heero talked. "This is not my native country." Heero said.

"Oh, where are you from?" Relena asked.

"I myself have travel a lot too. It’s been a long time since I lived there, but I was born in Japan. To be exact in Tokyo." Heero said.

"Heero!" Relena shouted as she got stuck in a trunk. He turned to free her, to do that he had to rip her pants up to her thighs. Her pants were all ripped. Relena once again asked for his knife but Heero cut the remaining off.

Well this girl is not bad at all. Geeze look at these legs.

Relena turned and turned until her worn pants became shorts. She tossed the cloth away and her long legs were free. After that incident they continued their conversation like nothing happened.

"So you’re Japanese," Relena asked.

Heero nodded.

"But you don’t look Japanese" Relena said.

Heero stop without warning and she bumped into him. "Just because-" Heero was about to say when Relena finish his sentence.

"I don’t look like one doesn’t mean I’m not. Yeah, yeah. Stop your nonsense. I didn’t mean to say it like that." Relena told Heero. "But, why don’t you-?" Relena asked.

"Because my mom was Latina" Heero said. "I resemble her." Heero finish.

Heero seemed that he wanted to walk forever. Relena was exhausted. She started to wonder why he had not attempted anything against her.

"He is probably draining me out so when I am most vulnerable, he will attack. That bastard."

"Be careful around this land. It’s dangerous." Heero warned her.

The place was a mess. The water around them reached up to their knees. It was gross. Branches were hanging all over. Relena’s boots were soaked and she could feel the mud between her toes. They were out of that place, but the land across it wasn’t nice either. The ground looked brown like dirt. Heero walked by one side and Relena behind him. Then suddenly Relena steeped into a muddy place. She began to scream and panic because she was sinking. Heero quickly tried to pull her out but he couldn’t risk falling in it too.

"Relena don’t move. I will be back." Heero told her and disappear into the trees.

"Heero" Relena shouted.

"Yes, I got rid of her. That little rich girl, what a pest she was. It’s better off like this, now I can enjoy my staying without any annoying person. Ha, look at the way she drowns."

"Heeeroooo!" Relena shouted again as she imagined him saying that. It couldn’t be true. He can’t think like that. We are closer than before. I just know it. Relena thought. She smiled when she saw Heero approach her.

"Grab hold of these veins." Heero screamed to her while her body was sinking. She did and he pulled as hard as he could. He too got into the mud just enough to grab hold of her. They were both dirty and full of mud. Instead of crying, Relena laughed. Heero also laughed.

"I thought you were going to leave me all alone in this island." Heero told Relena as he wiped the mud away from her face. Somehow Heero began to feel comfortable with this girl and worst was that he cared. Her eyes were watery but they joked about the incident instead of crying.

For the night they rested at camp. Heero put on a fire. Relena try to clean herself with her cloth but it was useless. Exhausted, they felt asleep. The night went fast. The following morning Heero took Relena near a pond were both jumped into to wash. Relena splashed water to Heero. He grabbed her and threw her down in the water. They wrestled a while. Relena felt his strong arms squishing her. His hands were hard but his touch gentle. Heero felt fulfilled; happy. Her smile was like the sun’s warmth. Her laugh echoed in his head as a peaceful song.

When they were drying themselves, sitting under the sun. Relena saw more islands. They weren’t that far.

"Do you think we should go there instead?" Relena question

"Maybe" Heero said. Heero had pulled some bananas from the tropical tree. He ate and Relena grabbed a bunch and ate too.

"I like this spot." Relena said.

"Yeah. I think it’s fine too" Heero said. "We have everything here. There’s food, clean water and plenty of space." He added.

Not far form them a small boat roam the waters. Relena spotted it and the excitement of being rescue got into her. She got up and began to scream.

"We are here. Hello." Relena shouted as she waved her hands in the air. Heero looked at the boat but hew saw three men with weapons.

"Damn" Heero said as he got up and pulled her down. "Stop shouting. That is not your father. They are the men who want us dead." Heero whisper into her ear.

They were both hidden under bushes. Relena could smell his masculine scent and his body was right next to hers. She could feel his warmth too. It was pleasant. She felt safe. Heero’s arms were just around her shoulders when a snake came out of nowhere and bit his arm.

"Ha!" Heero screamed.

"Heero" Relena said worry. Heero grabbed his knife and stab the snake. He looked up to see the men disappear. Good, he thought, we are safe. He felt dizzy. Relena came running to where he was. He was leaning next to a tree. He took his bandana off and gave it to Relena.

"What should I do? Heero, I don’t want you to leave me," she said.

"Suck the blood on my harm" Heero instructed her. Relena nodded and proceeded to do so. She did and it felt gross. Heero saw her turn pale. Damn not now he thought.

"Now spit it out. Don’t swallow it" Heero said. Relena did and Heero told her to tie the bandana around his arms as hard as she could.

"Harder! You must tie it more so the blood stops." Heero said. She did but he didn’t look well at all when she finished. He was sweating and his forehead was hot.

"The snake was venomous right?" Relena said. He nodded.

"What can we do? Please don’t die." She said. Relena shook him as he close his beautiful Prussian eyes the eyes that holds the entire mystery of the world.

"No!" Relena screamed..."

"Two weeks had past and counting. My head hurts so much and my eyes are tired. The weather has cooled off and it’s pleasant. But, I haven't’ had the chance to enjoy it. Well, maybe just a bit. Every morning I take a bath in the nearby beach. I have taken Heero’s knife and other utilities to explore the small area. With it, I cut fruits. I found a way to cut the coconuts without having to climb the tree. Yes, two weeks, and that dummy Heero has not awakened. His fever was high at the beginning but with my help his fever has lessened. I am like a slave feeding him coconut juice and small pieces of fruits in his mouth. I would do anything to see his eyes open again. I wonder how much longer must I wait. I wonder when is Heero going to wake up."

Relena closed her journal and placed it aside of the spot where she was seated. She used a wet cloth and placed it on top of Heero’s forehead. She pulled his shirt off, but this time she didn’t blush. The first time she did; it was like a sin. He was so gorgeous; his abs were strong and muscular. His built chest and arms were the parts she admired most. To touch him was wicked like a spell. It was difficult at first to replace his dirty shirt with a clean one. He was heavy and she was so weak. She did manage to help him dress. When she turned to replace the warm cloth on his forehead; once again he began to scream.

"Nightmares" Relena said. She sat beside him and held him tight. "What is it that you are dreaming, Heero?" Relena asked herself.

Heero’s mind was playing tricks again. Memories came back. Memories that he didn’t want to remember. In one of them he was wearing a uniform. The military uniform. He was one of them. The blood of the people he killed run down the bank of the street as the body lay there, lifeless. The scream of children calling for their mothers banged inside of Heero’s head. Destruction and pain was what he caused when he joined the military. Blind with lies of destroying those who interfere to reach peace were killed; that was his mission. But, how wrong they were. He noticed that when Duo came to his aid. Heero tried to make up the wrong he did by helping the right people. The humble, poor people. The ones, who truly believed in freedom, not power. Everything was fine until he met Lina. The girl in his previous dreams with brown curly hair appeared. She herself was a rebel and what a team they made. Not only at battle, but as mates. Their love was always at its peak, for Heero was a man with many needs. Their ideal partnership was broken when she was assassinated by the military in an attempt to save him when he was captured and placed in jail. He had isolated himself from all troubles and tried to ease his mind and the pain he felt after her death. And that’s how he ended in his hamaca every afternoon. Lazily sleeping hoping to dream of Lina without remembering her death.

The next afternoon Relena was cutting open a coconut. The sun had already done his job to her skin. It was now tan and brownish. A movement pulled Relena to her feet. She looked around but since she was use to hear noises from the bushes went back to her coconuts. The wind blew her hair across her face. The noise was louder now but she didn’t bother to look up.

Right behind her, Heero rested. The spot she chose to place the poor built bed of palm branches was cover by the shadow of taller palm trees. It was time to feed Heero when Relena saw the sun like the waves of the ocean slowly disappearing. She sighed as she got up to walk to where Heero was. Her fingers let loose of the coconuts she held in her hands when she saw Heero resting next to the palm tree. Her only reaction was to run towards him and hug him once she reached him.

"I thought you were going to leave me all alone in this island" Relena jested. He smiled, "are you feeling better?" Relena said.

"Yes, much better, I feel alive." Heero said.

"Thirsty?" She asked. He nodded.

Relena walked to where she was before and picked another coconut. Heero observed her. He knew she had learned to survive. He was glad she did. He noticed her change of skin. She looked not toasted but lightly brown. It suited her, her shorts fit her tight and her blouse was no longer one, but she had a sports bra instead. Relena came back with an open coconut full of juice. He drank all of it down at once.

"How long have I been sleeping?" Heero asked.

"About two weeks." Relena answer.

"Really?" Heero asked. Relena nodded.

"Have they come yet?" Heero asked.

"If you mean the guys who want to kill us, no. My father neither." Relena answer.

"Too bad" Heero said.

"Heero." Relena said.

"Yes?" Heero question.

"What were you dreaming?" Relena asked.

"Was I screaming or what?" Heero asked.

She nodded quickly "I think you had nightmares." She said.

"It’s nothing" Heero answer her. He walked away to get clean. He grabbed his other shirt and headed towards the river.

"Wait!" Relena said.

"Oh no, you are not going to let this go. Relena thought as she ran after him."

She reached him when he was splashing water in his face.

"Why won’t you tell me?" Relena asked. She didn’t get an answer for that question either. "Come on. We’ve known each other for a while. I have told you everything about me that there is to know" Relena said. "Why can’t you tell me more about you?" She added. Heero took his dirty shirt off and threw it to the floor. Relena stared at his body. He was perfect to her eyes. Heero looked at her and didn’t find any horror or embarrassment.

"You have seen my body before, right?" Heero asked. Relena turned red with his comment.

" I had to change you and clean you and yes. But, I did it to make you feel better." She said. Heero smiled.

"Well, you haven’t answered me. So, I am not going to move from here until you do."

Relena said. She sat on top of a rock and pulled her knees to her chest. "I’m waiting." She added.

"Keep waiting" Heero said.

"You expect me to trust you when you can’t trust me?" Relena said in a sad, disappointed voice.

Heero sighed. "It wasn’t long ago that I was assigned here by the military." Heero said as he took his boots off.

"Which military?" Relena questioned

"The F.F.P. department." Heero said.

"I heard about Fight for Peace." Relena said. "I thought it was ordered to end." Relena said.

"Yes, it was for the government, not for the followers." Heero said. "I was one of them. Me plus other guys joined the military instead." Heero said.

Now he was ready to unbutton his jeans but turned to see Relena. She noticed, and she turned around to give her back to him. Still holding to her knees their conversation proceeded.

Heero stepped into the water. His naked body sank into the cool sensation from the flow of the river. He felt relief, lying there in the water, eyes close, hearing the sound of the birds and the leaves of the trees moving by the wind. He peeked to see Relena waiting for him to continue, so he did.

"I was very young and naïve when I joined them. They train me and influence me greatly." Heero said. He splashed water all over him. "In my life I have hurt and killed many. I was a soldier, nothing else." He added. Relena without thinking turned to him.

"You mean you killed as dead bodies and blood?" Relena question. She couldn’t but stare at his... (No I’m playing) at his face because he quickly dipped into the water the minute she turned.

"Will you stay still?" Heero said.

"Sorry" Relena said and once again turned.

"Yes, as hurting others for no reason. Maybe I was remembering that in my dreams." Heero finally said.

"Oh, I cant’ imagine you like that" Relena said.

"But, I was and it’s over. I left and vowed never to return again." Heero said and began to change. Relena turned to see Heero next to her. His hands were playing with his moss hair.

"So Miss Relena, is there anything else you want to know?" Heero said sarcastically.

"Now, that you mention it, yes. Have you been involved with the guerilla or Duo Maxwell?" She said smiling.

He shrugged.

"Can I quote you on that" she asked. He smiled and walked back to the camp.

"Do you still think your father is looking for you?" Heero asked.

"Yes. He will find us soon." Relena said.

"How soon?" Heero asked.

"I hope just enough before I punch you in the nose for being so rude." Relena said.

"Well you have been bragging about your rescue and since then nothing has happened." Heero said.

"Oh you dirty..." Relena said before she chased after him.

She was no match for Heero but he played along. Heero’s splendid smile brightened her lonely days she had had. He raced her up to the beach were they were going to fish. The seagull's song was heard. The wind blew both of their hair. Relena’s giggles were enough to scare the birds away. Heero was catching up and she fake a fall and Heero stop to aid her, but when he did she quickly got up for the run. Clumsily she didn’t manage to get up because Heero had pulled her down by her ankle. She fell flat on her butt, laughing hysterically. Heero’s true laugh sounded awkward, but as his belly ached with such a laugh, the new sensation he managed to survive. His happy face pleased Relena whose eyes were blurry with tears. They sat next to each other laughing their heads off. When he looked at her and his hands where free to wonder her face. She was catching her breath when his mouth took her last drop of air.

His kiss was sweet nectar to Relena. Her eyes were closed as she felt her body entangled with the warmth that surrounded her. It was like the sun eclipse when the sun and the moon, two totally strangers were one, together for a brief moment.

Heero took his time kissing the beautiful mermaid that had appeared on shore. Her soft lips were enchanting. When the tip of his tongue touched hers, he felt a hidden feeling in him awaken. Suddenly, the hunger for her grew and both mouths locked, wishing never to be released. When they eased, Relena could do nothing else but laugh again. Heero relieved to see her smile and not being angry with him relaxed.

Was it only a brief moment of need? No, they both knew that their kiss meant something and they both shared the stillness. Their eyes locked together and they had understood each other. There was no need for words to say that they had fallen for each other. Now that they had opened up, Heero kissed her once more. This time his tongue played with hers. Relena surrender to his sweet torture. His kisses felt like soft feathers. Heero slowly laid Relena back into the sand. Now Heero’s hand was caressing her cheek and tenderly his hand made way to her neck were she felt Goosebumps down her back. Instantly she pulled close to him and Relena could feel his body so close to hers. His muscular chest was touching her. Her hands felt free to explore his built back. Heero felt a pair of feathers fall on his back. They ran down and up again. They finally settled around his neck.

Their playful kiss came to a stop when unnoticed the tide rose and the waves were so close to their feet and in an instant the water poured on them. Wet and surprised they got up and ran. They couldn’t stop laughing. Everything was too odd and funny. When they reached the spot where Relena had settled down; Heero put on a fire. The evening was splendid. Once they were dry, they went back to the sea and caught fishes, clams and a huge lobster. After their meal, they surrendered to the sight of the wondrous night. They lay on their backs and stared at the stars.

The following morning Heero got up early because he had a lot to do. He had decided to build a shack. When Relena woke up, Heero had begun his duties. Relena gave a sweet smile to Heero as she passed him towards the fruit trees. He returned the smile.

"Heero, I cut the fruit, come and join me." Relena shouted over the roaring noise of the palm leaves falling. "Here" Relena said.

"Thanks" Heero answer.

"What are you making?" Relena asked.

"A hut so we can be protected from the storms and the roaring thunders, rain and wild animals." Heero answered.

Relena had a frightened face. "You are jesting." Relena said.

"Perhaps- but I still wonder how you survived without my help." Heero said. She shrugged.

"So if I had died…you would have been okay." Heero teased.

Relena put a finger on his lips and said, "Don’t say such things, I would have gone crazy if I never saw your eyes open again." Relena said.

"But-" Heero was about to say when Relena silenced him with a kiss.

"Hush, I don’t want to think about it." Relena said.

Heero worked all day. Relena stared at his wonderful body. The sweat from his forehead ran down his cheek and landed on his bare chest. He had no shirt and the sunrays tanned his body. With each day passed he built the hut; his pale sick face he had once now disappeared. A tan, masculine face replaced it. His eyes brighten his face. An extra shine also appeared; a sparkle he had never had in his eyes for a long time. It meant happiness.

They spent their days together wondering around. Everything was fine until one night that they got into an argument. Each time Relena found an exotic flower, she wore it to decorate her hair. She sent Heero to catch lobsters and they ate under the sky full of stars. The fire outside lighted up the center of the hut.

"Aren’t you tired of eating lobster?" Heero asked.

"Not at all. In Europe this is a specialty and a luxury." Relena said.

"You forgot expensive." Heero said.

"Yes, that too." She said.

"Well as you can see, it’s not a biggie here." Heero said.

Relena sighed as she looked out the dark horizon.

"You miss your dad?" Heero asked.

She nodded.

"And your house, you car, and luxurious, expensive life; right?" Heero said with an odd attitude.

Relena could not find the words to tell him that material didn’t matter to her. She was stunned by his rude comments. She held her knees close to her chest, as she would always do.

Heero thought she had pretended to ignore his question so he got up and walked towards the pond. His feet played with the cold water. When he was finally settled down he went back to where Relena sat. He didn’t notice the tears that ran down her eyes when he had left her. She felt bad. For a moment, she thought that her money wouldn’t interfere with their love but she thought wrong. As Heero took her hand, she abruptly took it away. He felt his fingers wet from her touch. She was crying and now he realized it.

"Why are you crying? Are you tired of being here with me?" Heero said coldly.

"No, I’m just tired of being rich." Relena said and left him. Relena felt miserable. She collapsed in the palm bed inside the hut. Tears shed down her face. She couldn’t understand his attitude. Relena close her eyes but her tears didn’t stop.

Heero felt stupid. He didn’t believe he acted like a jealous fool over money. What an idiot he felt as. To think that she would care. Heero knew he had hurt her feelings and that bother him because he never felt the way he did before and worst was that a women caused it. Either way it was too late to hide his feelings and he decided to clear things up.

Heero entered the hut, the wind slightly blowing the trees. The fire outside was still burning and gave enough light into the dark hut. He sat next to her. Then slowly touch her hair. He caressed her cheek and she woke up. Relena could feel his presence. He was being gentle and she realized it. Heero turned her face to his and saw her eyes. They were full of pain.

"Why are you sad?" Heero asked.

"I’m not, I’m simply..." Relena couldn’t continue, she knew he would ask about the money.

"You are what" Heero asked.

"I’m just sad because my father is probably worried and I can’t help but think about it. It’s also so sad that my dad doesn’t know that I have found the love of my life but, he is so blind to notice because I am rich." Relena said.

"I have failed to see the beauty and purity of our love. I’m sorry" Heero whisper into her ear. He kissed her cheek and tasted the salt. "I’m sorry I made you cry too." He added.

"I haven’t-" Relena lied.

"You don’t have to lie because I can taste it." Heero said. Relena stayed quiet.

"Don’t ever lie to me again. The last thing I want is to loose your trust." Heero said.

Relena nodded and turned into butter by his lovely words. She leaned toward his chest while she cried.

"Shh" Heero whisper as he kissed her forehead, her nose, and silence her by kissing her mouth. His hot kisses trailed down her neck and around her shoulders. The sensation was overwhelming.

Heero nibbled on her earlobe and his hand wrapped around her waist. Heero stopped kissing her to let her breath. He leaned back with one hand supporting her head and the other caressing her face. Relena stared at those Prussian eyes with passion. Her eyes trail down to his lips, they were perfectly shaped. Her finger traced his lips; Heero grabbed her hand and kissed the palm of her hand. Their eyes never left each other’s.

"I love you." Relena blurted out before thinking what she said. Heero had never heard such angelic voice say such beautiful words to him. He was touched but he didn’t show it.

"How do you know you do?" Heero asked.

"Because if you weren’t the one, I wouldn’t feel my stomach full of butterflies." Relena said.

"Or perhaps I wouldn’t kiss you with such passion and I would no longer think of a day without you. If you weren’t the one I love, I wouldn’t want you inside of me so much."

Relena said again without thinking of the consequences. Heero stared at her. Relena felt her blood rushing to her cheeks. She could feel herself turned hot and red on her face. She couldn’t believe she had told him to make love to her. She examined Heero’s face but he showed nothing. She wanted to hide her head in a deep hole. But, there was no hole near.

"That is nice to know. Because I have no feelings..." Heero began to say when he saw her face change when he said he had no feelings. She turned her head away. He continued and turned her head to look at him, "Until I met you. You made me smile and forget the loneliness, the solitude. You are my other half of my soul."

Their mouths met and Heero’s body was on top of hers. The fire outside had run out. The only light was seen from the beam of the moon and the fire in Heero’s eyes. Once they removed their clothes Heero laid her in the bed. Heero’s kisses became demanding and their tongues slanting to each other. He bit her rosy lips and slowly sucked her tongue. They took their time exploring their bodies, but Relena felt as if her body was going to rip in two when he entered her. Heero was strong and his pressure in her was enough to make her cry. Her nails clawed into his bare back when he came in her. He placed his hands under her hips and pulled her into him. The pain increased when he moved inside of her but easily, gently, Heero gave her time to adjust to the feeling. Heero sank into her neck and kissed every inch of it. He couldn’t stop kissing her lips. Heero began to move faster. Relena tried to follow but she surrendered to his lead. Their bodies were entangling as one. Heero didn’t want to retrieve from her. Little dots of water appear in his forehead and his sweat smelled masculine. He could only hear the melody of her gentle moans of pleasure. When his climax was coming he wanted to remove from her, but Relena held him tight and pulled him into her. Heero forgot his discipline and let his seed in her. She wanted to feel him entirely not half.

Heero place Relena’s arm around his neck and his thigh closer to her. It was a twist between them; playfully they turned around the bed without separating. When they came to a stop, Relena was on top of Heero. Still held intimately close together, Heero’s hand held Relena’s face and brought her lips to his. His other hand lay on her waist. Her skin was smooth and creamy. Her bosom press slightly to his chest. Tempting him Relena press towards him. By her action Heero bit her lips. Relena smacked him in his arm. Heero released both her mouth and body. Relena could no longer feel him in her. They lay together; Relena’s fingers ran across his chest. Her head was below his chin. Heero could smell the tropical scent in her hair. He picked a strain of her brown, hair and played with it. The silence of the night settled them down. Heero's other hand caressed her back. The touch of his hand made her feel warm all over again. Relena closed her eyes to savor his warmth. She felt a strong hand lift her hand and kissed it.

"You have made me very happy. The only problem is that I’m not used to being on the bottom. I like to be on the top" Heero said teasing her for the position they were in.

"Really, I have?" Relena question.

"Yes, I truly believe you are mine, only mine." Heero said hugging her.

"How do you know I have not been with others?" Relena teased. Heero gave her an odd look.

"You can’t trick me. It was hard enough to break through your virgin wall. I didn’t hurt you, did I?" Heero asked in a worry voice.

"At first it hurt deeply you brute, but it eased. I’m fine, really." Relena said.

"Relena" Heero whispered.

"Yes, Heero?" Relena question.

"What are we going to do when your father finds us?" Heero questioned.

Relena shrugged; she leaned closer to him. She also held him tight. By her action Heero knew that she felt the same way he did; scared.

"I don’t want to lose you, my love, I...," Heero said as he looked into her eyes when he raised her face to him. Relena’s eyes were icy, watery. Her lips rosy red and the light of the moon made her look like an angel. He couldn’t believe he had found his other half. Since her (Lina’s) death, he had never felt such a strong feeling for another women. Relena was different and he knew it the minute she bumped into him back in Panama. Her face, her eyes, that hair and her lips made him feel hot again. Heero was surprised to react so fast being next to her.

"Heero?" Relena question. Heero was blank, thinking and her voice brought him back to reality. "What were you saying?" Relena asked.

"I meant to tell you before your beauty enchanted me again, that I... I love you more than anything." Heero said.

"Do you love me more than your old plane?" Relena asked innocently.

"Maybe not anything." Heero said.

"Oh, you are not fair." Relena said.

"But, I love you" Heero said while he kissed her lips and with that same movement he pulled her down with him and cover her with is body once again. Relena arched back when his lips touched her neck. Heero made love to her again. This time slowly and sweetly. Tenderly he allowed her to lead and experiment with their bodies. Exhausted, Relena felt into a deep sleep. Heero felt comfortable with the idea of loving a girl, to be exact Relena. He kissed her closed eyes and covered her with the only thin, blanket. He lay on his back, comfortably; his left-hand tangled in her hair and his right arm hugging her possessively around her waist. Relena’s head settled on his chest. Content, both lovers felt asleep.

The following morning Relena woke up earlier than usual. Heero, even in his sleep held her tight. She smiled at the sight of daylight. Relena touched Heero’s face. She caressed his cheek and his tough jaw. Tenderly she touched his mouth and kissed it. A smile appeared in her face when she saw Heero’s eyes open.

"What mischief's are you planning today?" Heero asked.

"None, I was just observing you." Relena said as she played with his moss hair.

"Do you like what you see?" Heero teased.

"Very much" Relena answered. Heero tightened his grip around her and kissed her hard on the mouth.

"I’m going for a swim. Want to join me?" Heero asked.

Relena said "yeah."

"Let’s go" Heero said pulling her out of bed.

In the water they swam and dip under the water again and again. The sun was up and the wind blew very slowly. Relena splashed water to Heero. He pulled her down to the water like the victim of a shark. They laughed and enjoy themselves. When their fingers were wrinkle for being in the water too long, they went to rest on the sand.

"Heero, will you love me until I turn all wrinkled like this?" Relena showed him her fingers.

"Yes" Heero answer and kiss her finger.

"How about like this." Relena showed him her wrinkle toe. Heero laughed and said "perhaps."

Their days were endless moments of joy. They were like a newly marry couple on their honeymoon. One night under the shining moon Heero and Relena wed. Funny, maybe, but they exchanged vows of eternal love and loyalty. Relena decorated her hair with flowers. Heero helped her make a crown. While Relena made his crown with palm leaves. It took Heero the afternoon to create two beautiful rings. He used the palm strand and knitted them together. The time they were ready, the moon had claimed the night and the stars brightly appear. The sky was clear and deep blue color. Near the beach the waves splashed over the cliffs and the sound of the sea echo.

Heero had prepared the event. The fire was on. The lobster and clams were cooked and he had a small surprise for Relena. To Heero, Relena looked beautiful when she appear. Her hair moved with the wind and the crown suited her. Her eyes were fascinated by the look of him. She came to him. Relena was very happy. She saw Heero with his crown and she giggled. He had his shirt unbutton and his jeans ripped on both knees. She was wearing a long colorful skirt like the flowers on her head. Her shirt tied in a knot revealing her tan flesh. Both ended up on their knees and exchanged some sweet words. Together they played roles of judge, the groom and bride. When the final sentence came of "I do." Both said it together, leaned forward and kissed softly for what it seemed eternal.

Relena and Heero ate their meal, each looking at their eyes with a devilish smile and a sparkle within of happiness. The night was long and romantic. It didn’t take long when out of nowhere; big, dark clouds appeared signaling a rainfall. Heero noticed and decided to retreat to their hut. It rained for days without rest. Heero would go out to get food but Relena always worried when he was gone. From inside Relena could hear the whistle of the wind. The splashing waves clashed into the rocks. But, the worst parts were the night. They tried to sleep with terrible nights of wind and lighting that illuminated the sky. Relena would jump, or shake but Heero was always right next to her to comfort her.

"Heero, when will this rain stop?" Relena asked.

"Soon, I hope" Heero answered. Just then a helicopter sound was heard. Relena jumped to her feet and run to the door. She was able to see a helicopter flying around the air.

"How should we signal them?" Relena question worry.

"Fire!" Heero exclaimed.

"How? It’s raining." Relena said.

"Damn" Heero cursed. Both were dripping with water when they return to the hut.

"It’s okay. They will come around," Relena said. Two more rainy days were replaced by a beautiful morning with sunshine and warm weather.

Heero was busy shaving next to the pond. Relena lay next to a coconut tree writing on her journal. A helicopter landed not far from there. Heero heard the sound first, Relena looked up to see whom it was and there, from the bushes, two men and her father appeared.

"Father" Relena shouted and run towards him. He hugged her fiercely.

"Oh, my little girl. I thought I would never find you." Mr. Darlin said. Heero whipped his face and walked toward the reunion of father and daughter. Relena noticed how her father's men covered her when Heero got to them.

"Who’s this?" Mr. Darlin questioned.

"He is Heero. He has helped me survived." Relena said.

"Is he the one who has been taking care of you?" Mr. Darlin questioned.

"Yes" Relena answered.

"Dad this is Heero, Heero this is my dad" Relena introduced both men. They shook hands but not a word came out of Heero’s mouth.

"Well sir, I thank you for saving my daughter." Mr. Darlin said. "Okay. Let’s get going then, there will be a big celebration for your return darling." Mr. Darlin said as he pulled Relena to the helicopter.

"No! Dad, I can't go with you." Relena exclaimed. Her father looked confused. She moved away from him and stood next to Heero holding his hand she said.

"Dad, I can’t go because I want to stay with Heero. I love him." Relena aid.

"You what?" Mr. Darlin asked.

"You are willing to give up your career for him." He said pointing at Heero.

Relena nodded.

"Of all the people, him." Mr. Darlin said gesturing with his hand in the air and then a voice was heard out of nowhere.

"Excuse me, it’s me who should say that. I am the one who is stuck with her. My plane is in the bottom of the ocean because of her. I risked my life for her too. Heck, I took snakebite for her. What else do you need?" Heero finally said not being able to hold back any longer.

Relena’s dad was surprise with his comments. Their sight wasn’t at all pleasant so Relena step in between.

"Dad, Heero!" Relena screamed "Listen dad; I just need time, give it to me. Come back in 3 weeks and I will tell you whether I go back or not." Relena said. "Heero, we will talk about our return or stay. Please, is it okay with you?"

Heero nodded.

"Honey, you don’t need to stay here." Mr. Darlin said.

"I want to dad. I’m no longer a baby. I can decide for myself. Heero is here too to protect me. He would never allow any harm to me." Relena explained.

"Fine but 3 weeks time." Mr. Darlin said agitated. He hugged her and kissed her forehead. He returned to his helicopter and was out of sight soon enough.

Relena and Heero stood there, waiting for one of them to talk.

"So, what now? Miss Relena." Heero said sarcastically.

"Stop. Let’s forget about this and enjoy our limited time." Relena said smiling, a smile that Heero couldn’t resist and in return hugged her.

Relena had chosen Heero instead of her home. Heero was always counting the hours and days until Relena’s dad return. In the mean time, Relena continue her days as if her father had never been there. Heero felt as if he had taken her life away but she would always get him out of that topic. Her career would be over but what she had found was a greater force than that. Her love for him grew each day. She would find every little thing he did, say or gave her valuable. Heero was amazed that she loved him as much as her life. But, he was glad that they were here because of it he knew that her love was pure and loyal. There weren’t any riches around to give her or luxuries that she was used to. He never saw her complain and so knew that they were together only for love and nothing else.

The days were long, Heero had forgotten to count or think about the days that they had left. One night while Heero was exercising, he saw Relena tenderly caressing her belly. She was daydreaming of the day she would have her own family. Heero noticed and he had not thought of having a family with kids just yet. He liked the idea of having a dozen kids roaming around the beach. The girl's with her mother’s eyes and brown hair like hers. But, he shook his head to make the image go away. He wasn’t ready, that’s what he told himself. "Why do you have such ugly toes?’ Heero finally said to distract her. "Oh, not as ugly as your" Relena snap back. They smiled and giggle away.

A motor silently roamed in the water. Three guys were on it and one pointed towards land with a flashlight in his hands. An evil laugh came out of his mouth and then all went silent.

The following day Heero left as usual to fish and get fruits. Relena stayed behind, lazily sleeping. Heero kissed her lips and left.

<Somewhere in Europe. >

"Mr. Darlin" A woman said. Relena’s dad was in space. He pondered about his daughter’s conduct and well being. He looked up to see his secretary staring at him.

"Yes?" He answered.

"Your meeting is in five minutes." She said.

"Thank you" Mr. Darlin said. His secretary left, he looked around the office to see the comforts and luxuries he owned.

"How can she prefer were she is and not here?" Mr. Darlin asked himself. Tiredly he got up and said, "Yet, I understand." Smiling he left his office.

When Heero returned later in the morning, he noticed the hut’s door. It was closed. Relena never closed the door. He immediately dropped what he had and run inside. The door swung open and a big bang was heard. The bed was in ruins. Their only belongings were scatters around the floor. She was gone! He went outside to see footprints on the sand. It had been years since he had felt the rage that was buried inside him. Heero’s eyes were filled of rage. With anger he punched the sand. Who? That was his next thought after he managed to think. Heero went inside again were he had left Relena asleep that morning. A piece of her journal was ripped off and it lay on the corner of the hut.

It said:

"We have the girl. Now, hand in the money. We will contact you."

Heero ripped the page into pieces. Those bastards he thought. It must have been the same people who tried to kill them before. They probably saw her give him the money when they first met. "That’s it, they are going to regret messing with one of his peers, me!" Heero manage to say in between his rage.

Heero didn’t know exactly what was he going to do. But, he changed into his military uniform and tied his bandana on his head. His knife was place on his belt and from the box he took with him when his plane sank; he took out two granadas. He wasn’t going to use them but today was different. Hesitantly he put them on his pockets. He was afraid for Relena’s safety and of his fierce conduct. When he was in the military, during the battle he showed no mercy and killed every soul that crossed him. Heero began his hunt, his mind was settled down.

**********************

Relena had been sleeping when she felt a hand over her mouth. An ugly man with a scar was holding her. She was terrified by the presence of the other two who were in the other side of the hut. She prayed for Heero to return but if he did, they would out number him. Tears of frustration run down her cheek.

"Get up, pretty lady." The main said. Relena did. She saw the guns on their side and she was speechless.

"Let’s go, move" the man said as he pushed her out the hut. The other two men destroyed her home and together they left.

It was in a solitude place where these beasts had settled. They tied her with her arms apart to two branches. She had been tied all morning now. The afternoon had come and she could see the sun’s last rays of light diminishing. The men were away from her. They were sitting, drinking and looking at her constantly. Finally, they came next to her and one of them with a knife caress her cheek.

"She is a pretty one," the man said.

"Yeah" the other two replied.

"Leave us" He added. They did, Relena knew that this guy with the scar was the leader. She closed her eyes and began to pray.

"He gets all the fun," one of them said as they walked to the other side of their base.

"Let’s see what have you hidden from us." The man said.

Heero spotted the two men. It had taken him a while to find them. But, he wanted to find the leader first and Relena was not with them. He blinked as the leader used his knife to cut Relena’s shirt open to expose her bra. His fingers play with her hair. His breath closer to her face than ever. Heero felt the blood rushed to his head. His hands would be off in a second he thought. He saw how Relena protested but the man didn’t care. The hurt in her eyes made Heero snap wildly. Relena whimpered as the man began to kiss her cheek down her neck and the rest happen so fast that Relena didn’t know how it did.

Heero had jumped out of his hidden place, punched the guy to the ground and both fought fiercely. Relena stared at the unpredictable battle. The man was big perhaps a bit bigger than Heero, but Heero had the strength and experience to make a fool out of him. When the man realized he could not beat him, he got up and placed his knife next to Relena’s throat.

"Don’t move" the man screamed in fear.

The other two guys heard their leaders scream and quickly began to run towards them. Heero couldn’t afford to loss time. If they came, he might not be able to rescue Relena. He got up and stared at her.

"If you don't’ want the girl to get hurt don't move." The man said.

"You haven’t changed a bit since I left." Heero said coldly and he threw a piece of cloth that landed on the man’s feet. The man stared at it for second before he recognizing it.

"You! I thought you were dead. You are the deadly scorpion, the killer who disappeared from the military ages ago. That is who you are. Not bad, but your fun is over." The man said.

"I was that man once, not anymore." Heero said and threw his knife at the man’s chest, hitting the heart. He fell to the ground. Heero untied Relena and saw the other two men coming. They began to shoot at them. Without thinking twice, Heero took out a granada and threw it to them. He felt to the floor pulling Relena with him. A big boom was heard and fire was seen in Relena’s eyes.

"Heero you killed them" Relena said in weeps.

" I had to; they were going to hurt us." Heero said firmly. "Let’s go," he added.

They walked in silence for a long time. Heero had Relena in his arms when they arrived at the hut.

"It wasn’t your fault. Heero, I am sorry, I guess I was surprised. I thought you were going to kill the man with your hands." Relena said after a long silence between them.

"I should have. He had his hands all over you." Heero said. "But, what matter is that we are safe. And you are fine aren’t you?" Heero added. Relena nodded next to his chest.

The following days were dedicated to reconstruct their hut. At last, they settled down and their days were enjoyable. Relena told Heero about her travels and the people that she met. Heero rested on her lap listening to her adventures.

"I once went to Arabia and the sultan wanted me to be his bride." Relena said.

"May I know his name? Perhaps, we can visit him someday." Heero said. Relena giggled trying to hold back her laugh.

"The sultan was only eight years old. Heero, the poor kid wanted me to read to him forever." Relena said laughing.

Heero smiled sheepishly at her answer.

"I was just jesting." Relena said. And kissed his lips. Heero welcomed her action. His kiss was passionate and deep.

"You know what day is today, right?" Heero asked.

"Yes" Relena said caressing his moss hair.

"I’m not going back. I want to stay here with you" Relena said.

"So you won’t go not even if your father forces you?" Heero asked

"He won’t, I know him" Relena said. Silence intruded again. Heero broke the ice.

" I was thinking" Heero said.

"Yeah, what?" Relena asked,

"I would love to see a small replica of myself to help me protect my beautiful and gorgeous daughter." Heero said. Relena’s smile was greater than the rays of sun that afternoon.

"Really?" Relena asked in astonishment.

"Sure" Heero answer.

"I love you, and giving you a little you would make me happy." Relena said.

"How happy?" Heero asked

"Very" Relena answered.

"Very happy as to willingly now?" Heero jested by giving her a devilish smile.

"Now?" Relena asked.

"Yeah" Heero answer.

"No!" Relena said laughing.

"Yeah" Heero said and got up pulling her with him.

"No" Relena said and ran away.

"Oh, yeah" Heero said chasing her behind.

That afternoon Mr. Darlin's helicopter landed on shore. Heero was already waiting for him. Relena came in as the two of them stared at each other.

"She is not leaving" Heero said. Heero held on to his breath. Relena was behind him, hiding from her father’s sight. The moment of silence seemed eternal.

"I know" Mr. Darlin finally said. Heero could breath again. "And that’s why I traded my belongings in Europe." Mr. Darlin said.

"For what, dad?" Relena question.

"To buy this island. I came here to join you, my darling." Mr. Darlin said. Heero and Relena looked at each other, shaking their heads.

"You’ll see son in law..." Mr. Darlin said as he hugged him with one arm and the other arm around Relena. "We will be the greatest. We will turn this island into the best tourist site, hotels, restaurants etc. You’ll see, everything is on its way." Mr. Darlin pointed to the many helicopters in the air coming towards them.

Relena and Heero freed from Mr. Darlin’s grip and stare at each other in amaze. They were speechless. Here they thought the worst and got the opposite maybe too much opposite. In the distraction of Mr. Darlin, they ran towards the sea. They were desperately running away from the place. Heero had his old raft. Relena and Heero were seen in the sea rowing as fast as they could. In the meantime Mr. Darlin screamed their names from shore. Heero and Relena looked back and they looked at each other, smiling they kept rowing.

Unfortunately, their escape wasn’t successful. Mr. Darlin’s man caught up with them after their raft sank. Heero forgot that the raft had a hole and Relena punched him in his arm when she felt wet and saw that they were sinking. Heero prayed for them not be eaten by sharks.

No they couldn’t get away.

In the next three years the island was transform into a complete empire. It was indeed the best site of tourism. Heero and Relena didn’t know their location before until Relena’s dad told them they ended up in the Caribbean. Mr. Darlin was the owner but Heero was his partner. He was delighted to see the profit the island brought. Mr. Darlin didn’t stay there all the time. He traveled back and forth from Europe to the Caribbean.

Relena caressed the moss light hair of a three-year-old boy who was sitting next to her hamaca. His stare as deep as his father’s Prussian eyes. Lightly she padded him away. "Todd, go get Robin and don’t let her get into the water alone." Relena said. Todd quickly ran away after Robin his, 1-year-old sister who was stumbling along the sand trying to walk by herself.

Not far away Heero was coming out of the sea with a couple which he had taken to roam around the ocean. Heero was the main attraction in the site. He was in charge of exploring the ocean and taking visitors scuba diving. She waved at him; he waved back.

She smiled up to see her lost brother Milliardo, who had recently returned from his exploits in Latin America. He had returned to Europe only to find that they had left to the Caribbean. Noin, his girl that he kidnapped from a prosperous Spanish family in Argentina came with him.

"So sis, how are you going to name this one." Milliardo said as he caressed her sister’s belly.

"I don’t know yet. But, luckily I have another 3 months to figure it out."

Relena answer.

"Noin, suggested Leila" Milliardo said.

"I like it" Relena said.

"Not for your baby, for ours." Milliardo teased.

"I see, no matter. I know her name. It's going to Cynthia." Relena said.

"Cute" Milliardo said. Noin came along and took Milliardo to the office where a computer had crash. He kissed her forehead and left with Noin.

Relena stared out to the horizon. The sun was setting down. She saw Todd running around and Robin jumping up and down for Heero to hugged her. He did and together holding hands with Todd walked towards her.

Relena finish her last sentence in her journal and closed it to hold onto Heero’s hand. They left for a walk. Heero was holding Relena with one hand and holding Robin in his other arm. Todd walked in front of them picking shells up.

They left behind, Relena’s journal. The pages of the book were turning, this was caused by the wind, it stopped at the last page and it read....

"This is our third year together. We have no need for a wedding but my father keeps insisting. Todd is looking more like his father everyday, Robin is very active and Heero said that she is as sweet as I am and well Cynthia is growing inside of me. Heero is as happy as I am. He takes his role as dad as best as he can, but he sometimes spoils my angels too much. I wonder if I would have been as happy as I am today, if I had never bumped into this man, who I have learned to love and understand with my life. I came to a conclusion that this is what I was born for. My other half is finally with me and our lost souls have met to stay for eternity."

<The Journal closes>
