She looked at the door, waiting for him to come. He said he had something important to tell her, something about them. Relena knew instinctively that it would be bad news, but she kept up hope that it wouldn't. 'I love you, Heero, you know that I do, but why can't you just except it,' Relena thought, pleading with Heero in her mind. Turning around when the door opened, Relena's spirits plummeted when she saw Heero's expression. 'It's as if this is another mission for him,' Relena thought, waiting for him to talk.

'This might be too much for her," Heero thought while walking towards Relena. 'I can't be weak, I must do this,' he told himself as he stood in front of her.

"Relena, I think we need some time apart," Heero said. 'No, no, no.', Relena thought, while saying, "Time apart, why?" "I need some time to figure out what I really want in life, and I need to be away from you," Heero said, cursing his bluntness. Continuing, Heero said, "I just need some time, I love you, Relena, but I just need to figure out what I need," grabbing Relena's arm as she turned from him. "I see, I see Heero," was all that Relena could say.

"I guess my love has never been enough for you Heero," Relena said bitterly. "It's not that, it's...," Heero started to say. "It's what? Is it that you're tired of me, the spoiled brat turned politician who spent 6 years of her life chasing after you, wanting you, needing to love you," Relena lashed out, anger turning her face red. 'I will not cry, I will not cry in front of HIM,' Relena told herself. "I'm glad that I've finally seen the light. I've spent the best years of my life chasing after you, but now I'm not anymore," Relena said, breaking out of his grasp. "Heero, just this one last thing, when you come back, don't expect me to be waiting for you," Relena said, leaving him in the room alone. "Relena, I still love you," Heero whispered before leaving the room.

Holding the picture of the two of them that had been on her desk, Relena threw it into the trash, crying. 'I love you so much, but I just can't do this anymore,' Relena thought while thinking of their smiles, hers open, his barely there, when she thought they were truly happy.

Heero looked up at Preventer's Headquarters for one last time, before starting his motorcycle. 'I'll be back Relena, I promise you," Heero thought before riding into the sunset.
