“ We hereby announce the early retirement of Ms. Relena Peacecraft from all of her duties, and are very sorry to have to see her leave……”
“ MY early retirement?!? They forced me to do it! I make ONE little mistake and they ask me to quit… retire… it sounds more graceful.” Relena sneered as she looked out the window of her huge office. She turned off the vidscreen. Tired all of a sudden.
“Well Ms. Relena, what are you going to do?” Noin asked, a worried look on her face. “They could come back and you know… aren’t you worried?”
“Let them come, if I am not afraid of the Great Heero Yuy, why should I be afraid of the alliance?” She turned back to Noin and gave her a smile.
“That’s very true Ms. Relena but you are going to need some protection. Don’t you think?” But before Relena could answer there was a knock on the door.
*knock, knock*
“ Ms. Relena you have a few visitors here to see you.” The secretary said, peaking her head in the door.
“ Relena, it could be….”
“Oh Noin, they wouldn’t send anyone out to kill me right now! It would be too obvious don’t u think?” she turned to the waiting secretary, “ Bring them in.”
Noin pulled out her gun and had it ready just in case, but put it back in her sling when she saw who it was.
“Quatre! Heero! So good to see you two!”
The blonde boy with the bright eyes, and the brown headed boy with the dark eyes entered the room, Quatre smiling as always, Heero looking cross… as always.
“Your not busy right now are you Relena?” Quatre asked.
“No, and it looks like it is going to stay that way for a while.” Relena frowned.
Relena walked to her desk, folded her hands and asked, “Now, what can I do for you?”
“Quatre smiled, and said, “ Well, we were wondering if you could get us some mobile dolls for a mission we have to do, and if Ms. Noin could come with us to protect my place? OZ is leading an attack there and we wanted to stop it first.”
“ I can get you the mobile dolls, but its up to Ms. Noin if she wants to help.” Relena stated as she look at the women.
“ I don’t know if that’s a good idea right now Quatre, Relena needs to be protected, and I would never forgive myself if anything happened to her.”
“Quatre looked puzzled, he looked to Relena, “ What happened? Are you in trouble?”
Relena sighed, and looked at the two boys in front of her. “Well trouble is not the word, its more like possibly in trouble, we don’t know if they even plan on doing anything yet.”
Quatre stilled looked confused, so Relena elaborated for him. “I was forced to go in to a very early retirement because of a problem we were having with a certain base, well it was a lot of pressure and I made a little mistake causing the place to ummm, blow up in a way, so as not to have the whole federation take the fall they wanted to retire… its all very stupid if you ask me. But now Ms. Noin is concerned that they might be having people try to ‘get rid of me’ because I know a lot of secrets, and they think I might go blabbing them around. But that’s all… that I know of anyway.” She said looking out the window over the peaceful ocean.
Quatre looked upset, and Heero had no look at all, or was it her imagination or did she see a hint of concern in those beautiful Prussian blue eyes of his? Must have just been the light because it quickly disappeared.
“What do you want to do Noin? I can probably get some one else to watch me if you are really sure they might try something, Quatre’s people need more protection, and your help then a single person does.” Relena said.
“I would feel much more comfortable if we could get someone to protect you, because I still think they are going to try something, but its also true that Quatre needs my help, I’ll help Quatre, on one condition… I want Heero to stay here and protect Relena.”
Everyone looked up shocked at Noin. The purple haired woman held her head firmly, “That’s my only condition. I know he can take care of her.”
Relena blushed slightly, and looked at him from the corner of her eye. She didn’t realize that she was holding her breath for an answer.
