The Museum

Chapter One

A.N.  (Catchy title, isn’t it?)This is my first fanfiction and I sincerely hope you enjoy it.  Gundam Wing is my favorite anime, and I got the idea for the plot when I myself was forced to go to the museum.  And now, enjoy the fic!

Disclaimer:I do not own Gundam Wing, but I wish I could say otherwise.

“Come on, Duo!  The tour starts in 5 minutes!”

“Okay, okay, Quatra, sheesh!” grumbled Duo.  They were at a museum because Quatra convinced everyone it was good for them.  Duo didn’t want to see anything there, he was only going because Hilde had literally dragged him to the car and up the steps of the museum.  So here he was, bored to death.  He turned around and smirked, he wasn’t the only one who didn’t want to be there.  Wufei was in a similar situation.  Sally was pushing him into the building behind a very worried looking Quatra.

“Look you guys,” Quatra said, “We aren’t going to be here very long, so just cooperate, okay?

Wufei looked back at Quatra with a death glare rivaling Heero’s.  After what seemed like an eternity he agreed, ”I won’t like it, but I’ll cooperate.  The sooner we leave, the better.”

Sally sighed, but walked into the building following him.

Hilde motioned for Duo to come and he followed her.  He turned around and noticed that Trowa, Catherine, Heero, and Relena were also following.

Trowa, for one, was happy to be going to the museum.  He couldn’t see how Wufei and Duo were acting so childish.  He was looking forward to seeing the stuffed animal section(A.N. not plush toys, but the creatures that were killed and put on display stuffed).  Finally the tour was about to start.  He walked over to the entrance.

Relena followed the group.  She saw out of the corner of her eye that Heero was here, too.  What’s he doing here? She thought, How did Quatra get in touch with him?  No one’s heard from him since he left.  Her mind was buzzing with questions to ask him, but she noticed everyone was inside the building entrance and continued into the building.

“And here we see the Archeological section.  This, you see hanging above you, is the actual size of a pterodactyl.  It is made from Plaster of Paris.” The tour guide explained.

Deathscythe could beat that thing any day, Duo thought skeptically.  He missed his gundam terribly but was glad there was no need for it anymore.

Relena looked on in awe.  I’m glad it’s dead, she thought, I have enough trouble keeping peace without giant creatures causing destruction.  I shouldn’t be thinking about my work, though, now that I’m somewhere I that I can relax.

“And as you can see over here, this is an ancient fossil.  You are allowed to touch this one, but there are vary few others that you can.”  The tour guide continued to drone on about what era it is from, and the like, but Dorothy didn’t seem to hear.  It was amazing to her that a rock could be so old and still in good condition.  As she began to pickup words and fragments of what the guide was saying, she could easily tell that she had missed something important, by the way everyone was staring at the guide in wonder.

“You mean that rock is considered magical?” she heard Hilde exclaim.

“Yeah, yeah, like it could really be.” Duo answered.  Dorothy noticed that he wasn’t being his regular self today.  I guess he really doesn’t want to be here, she thought, remembering how harsh she herself had been when she was caught up in a war.  We should probably find something that interests him…  Her thoughts were abruptly cut short by the tour guides answer, “It is said that the earliest shamans used it.  For what no one knows…”  He continued on about the  rocks and volcanoes, and other stuff no one was interested in.  They were all lost in thought about that strange sacred stone.

“On to the human studies section then?” the tour guide asked, seeing that none of them were really interested in rocks.

Catherine looked around at all the ancient relics of the Indians.  Amazing, she thought.  She looked over to a section set aside for children activities(A.N>  You know, those little kid sections set aside for kids who are bored with all the items in museums?  I’ve seen them in every museum I’ve gone to.)  She noticed that Hilde was guiding Duo over there.  This will keep him busy, she thought with a laugh.

“Why Hilde?  I hate watching over little kids!”  Duo asked.

“Well, you need to pay your rent, and I’m sure the parents will be relieved if you supervised the kids for them while they went off and enjoyed the museum.  Besides, you were bored with everything else.”

“I won’t be skeptical anymore, I promise!  I’ll enjoy everything else!  Just don’t make me watch little kids!”  Duo pleaded.

“All right,” Hilde said.  She thought he looked cute when he begged, but she didn’t want to make him suffer.

Relena giggled.  It was funny to watch them interact together.  In fact, it was just what she needed to loosen all the tension she built up as a vice-foreign minister.  I wish I could see them more often, she thought.  Suddenly she noticed that the group was headed toward the house and clothing section of the Indian cultures area, and hurried to catch up.  But where is Heero?  She looked and it turned out he was studying a display of the ancient tribe religions.  How strange… she thought, and as if he heard her, he looked up, and followed the group, with Relena following, lost in thought, after.
