It was a rainy night when Relena looked out her window.  She sighed as the cold crystals of water panged against the window door to the balcony.  She softly laid her hand on the cool glass of the window watching the raging storm.  She had been thinking about him again.  She wondered how he was, and if he was still alive.  She wondered if he was outside cold and wet.  She wondered if he would ever come around to see her or the rest of the gang ever again.  Her thoughts were interrupted by the soft rapping on her oak door.  "Come in."  Relena answered the knock.  A short woman about the age of 21, just as her (Relena), with blazing short blue hair and sparkling eyes came in and smiled. 

"Hey Relena!  Duo and I were wondering if you'd come to the spa with us and of course the others that have come?!" asked Hilde. 

   

 "Thank you Hilde, I will be right down.  Maybe the steam will relieve all the stress. *chuckle*  Is Duo going to wear those silly shorts I got him for Christmas last year?" Relena laughed as she remembered how Duo always asked for Deathscythe swim shorts.

    " Yea, I think he's wearing them for you. Well lets stop talking and hurry up!" Hilde nearly exclaimed excitedly.

 

~~~~~IN THE SPA ROOM~~~~~ " 

Hey Rele!  Was'up?" Duo yelled across the room as Relena entered. "Nothing much, Duo.  Just the same old papers every day. *sigh*" Relena quickly changed the subject and spoke brightly, "Hey Trowa, Catharine, Quatre, Dorothy, Sally...Wufei!...Noin and Zechs.  Think I got every one?" she asked still a little disappointed that one of her closest friends wasn't here.  She missed him and she guessed the longing showed in her face briefly because Noin got up and came over to her questioning, "Relena, is everything all right hun?"  "Oh!  Sorry, yes, yes of course.  It's just the new threat that bugs me. Here we are relaxing while they are building up forces and could attack.  And our soldiers are preparing and standing in the rain.  What if they get sick from the rain?  Or or, I should be doing my job.  I am sorry, but I just can't......"   "MISS RELENA!  Calm down, everything will be all right.  You need this little break and I won't hear another thing about it.  Understood?" Noin asked firmly.  Relena smiled and replied, "Understood.  Whose in for a water fight?!"  The spa erupted into an explosion of laughter and water splashing.  ' Finally, some fun for me!  And the pilots are finally enjoying themselves too.  Even Wufei.' 

 

~~~~~At the new base...Place unknown~~~~~ 

 A tall figure with wild chocolate brown hair, and a green tank top tucked into faded blue jeans, lay in an air vent waiting to make his move.   The explosives were set and all he had to do was escape.  'Finally, I can leave here and get back to protecting Relena.' Heero bashed out of the vent and ran gun in hand.  One of the soldiers spotted him and sounded the alarm.  Heero grimaced as he realized they found him.  He threw a bomb and blew up the wall so he could free himself of the base.  The outside troops found him and immediately surrounded him 18 to 1.  ' Well this will be interesting.  If I could just find the explosive device that's left, I could bring the whole place down.' Heero then remembered, ' But then I couldn't tell Relena...'  Heero was jolted back to reality as one of the soldiers screamed at him, "Drop your weapon, or we'll all shoot!  Surrender at once!"  Heero thought it best to do just that as he formed his "flawless" plan.  (You'll see later why I did that) 

   

 ~~~~~Back at the Peacecraft Mansion~~~~~  

"I have called this meeting today because the new group, finally named as The Black Plague, has settled in and taken on a form so strong, it will take more than what we have to beat it down to nothing." Lady Une started off.  "Relena, I, as well as the rest of the gundam pilots, wondered about the whereabouts of Heero Yuy.  Have you any  idea where he could be so we may contact him?  It will take all we've got to beat this organization."  Relena replied slowly and softly, " Lady Une, I am sorry to inform you I haven't heard from Heero Yuy in over a year.  The last place he was, was here."  Silence was heard throughout the room until the most unexpected voice was heard.  " Heero has been tracking The Black Plague ever since they came up with an idea to make an organization.  Just yesterday, he informed me that he had set explosives to the entire base and had only one special bomb that would whack everything out of perspective at a push of a button.  He'd only use it though if he were desperate. He himself wouldn't make it out alive." Trowa had spoken.  Every eye in the room was gaping as the silent soldier spoke.  Duo (duh who else? ^_~) broke the silence, "WOAH!  He spoke!  A whole paragraph too!"  Hilde who had been sitting next to Duo slapped him upside the head.  "Ow!  What was that for?" Duo complained.  *Sweat drops all around the room.*  " Men, you know what you have to do.  So get to it!" Lady Une snapped and dismissed everyone.

   

~~~~~~~~Relena's Room~~~~~~~ "Oh Heero.  Come back alive, please." And that was all Relena said. 

 

~~~~~~~~~~ON THE BATTLE FIELD~~~~~~~~~~ Trowa, Duo, Wufei and Quatre had found the base with ease.  The information Heero sent was unbelievably easy to read, and  they found everything he talked about.  " Woo-Hoo!  The Great Destroyer Returns!" Duo yelled over the intercom.  Trowa's lips slightly curled up into a smirk as did Wufei's.  Quatre had a full blown smile. (full blown?  uhm...I dunno.^_^) "Baka, concentrate at the task at hand.  Dishonorable..."  Wufei changed abruptly.  Duo beeped Trowa.  "We gotta find Heero before he commits suicide.  Since he was captured, I was surprised and relieved that he called in at all with all that info ya know?  Hope suicide boy is still alive."  Trowa only nodded. 

 

    ~~~~AT B.P. BASE~~~~  "Commander, we have found and captured the boy.  He was imprisoned by the corner on the left next to a bomb room.  The room is armed in such a way, it would be suicide to stay.  Shall I send a message for evacuation, sir?"  a young soldier bravely told.  "No! But good work with the boy, soldier.  Tell him I will be there to see him, ssssssooooooon." The commander spoke venomously.  Slightly slurring the sss in soon, to make it sound like a snake. 

Heero was contemplating on whether or not to go ahead an blow the base up with his "special" explosive.  It surprised him that this strong military would miss the slight bulge in his stomach area. "They wouldn't notice if I showed them.  They may be strong, but they're not smart.  I'll have to visit Relena through her dreams.  Gomen Relena.  This should end all suffering."  Heero was about to push the button to the detonator when the commander walked in.  "Hello old friend.  Did you miss me much?  Heero, you must remember...." 

 

"I know who you are." Heero spat monotonously. 

 

 "Gooood.  Then we'll just have to make your death a more painful one then, shall we?" 

 

"Hn." 

 

"I expected your friends to come for you.  Oh right, you don't have any friends.  *Punch to Heero from Commander* "  Heero took the shot with ease.  He would let the commander do as he pleased then he would make his move.

 

" Heero, that's not like you.  Swing one at me...Oh come your no fun.  *Kick to side*  *Kick to stomach* *Kick to head* *Kick to high back* *Kick to side again* Heero, cry out in pain!  Boy, you are foolish.  I will kill your little girl friend first.  Then I'll kill you!" A hysterical laugh was heard.  Heero peeled himself off the floor.  " You, cant' win.  Hehe, see.  I have the detonator." Heero grunted and found the button and silently said, ' I'm sorry Relena.  It doesn't look as though I'm goin to tell you any thing now.  I....Luv...you'  The commander stared in pure shock as Heero pulled the detonator out of his pocket.  " Boy, you're bluffing."  Heero smirked and pushed the button.  The commander's eyes widened in horror and reached for the device but missed it completely as Heero pressed it.  Only the top floors exploded.  Heero tried again but it didn't work.  The commander grabbed Heero and dragged him to his office where he turned on a screen and said, " If you pull another stunt like that I will order my officer to shoot Relena Peacecraft.  Got it?  Now...." 

 

Everything went CABOOOOOOM as the gundam pilots finally arrived and started to battle. The vid-screen came on and a familiar face appeared.  "Hey Heero!  You look like crap!  Oh, hello commander dude!  Release my buddy or your all toast." Duo laughed and waited for the commander to respond.

 

"Fool, I already ordered my assassin to kill Miss Peacecraft.  You should hurry, you might catch him if you are quick.  But you won't be in time for Heero.  I have already won.  By now, my troops are in Europe, China, Japan, and America.  Go ahead and try to beat my other troops that are here. Your efforts are worthless. Hehehe."   "Don't listen to him Duo."  Heero used his last bit of energy and ran out of the office to a secure place so he could contact the others.   "This is Heero.  Duo, Trowa Wufei, Quatre, leave here.  I am going to use the last explosive.  It will blow up the entire base by a push of the button.  You must leave here so I don't kill you in the process." Heero paused then turned off the link to all except Duo.  "Duo, tell her...Tell Relena I love her.  Tell her I'm sorry I couldn't be there to explain.  Tell her for me?  Explain why I can't come back? I know you need to leave here anyway to get those other troops. "  Heero was getting dizzy from all the blows the commander had done to him. 

    "Are you crazy, Heero?  You can't do that!!!!  You have to tell her, I can't and I won't!  She needs you to be there.  You can't just leave her again!  Heero!  We got it under control out here. We already got the other troops and came to bring you back since you ran into some trouble. Your life matters just as much as ours do.  So you can't use that as an excuse. You can't leave her.  You can't leave us all. If you did, that would be a cowards way out, and Heero, your far from a coward."  Duo raged. 

 

"Duo, do it.  It's the only way.  My life isn't important you can't say it is.  I killed people left and right without a care.  I didn't want to be that way, but that was the way it had to be.  Now I am going to set this no matter what.  Get Noin to get Relena outa there.  The Commander said he was going to have his officer kill her if I slipped up again.  I did, so tell her before he gives word.  I disoriented the communicator while you were yakkin, for only 5 more minutes now.  Please Duo.  This is all I'll ever ask of you.  Good bye, your a good friend."  Heero terminated the link and set to work.       "NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!  Trowa, Wufei, Quatra, we gotta get outa here!  Heero is goin to blow the whole place up!  He's not returning with us." Duo said the last part softly and sadly.  Trowa's eyes widened but soon changed and nodded.  As did the rest of them.  3 Miles away they saw the biggest explosion any one has ever seen.  It was at least a mile high and wide.  Duo's eyes watered, he now had the burden of the "Bearer of bad news" .  Because of Heero, there were no more suits to fight.  No more battles, for the time being, and no more adventures for a while.  Their friend and ally was gone. 

 

~~~~~~A Year Later at the Memorial site made for just the special person who touched all their lives in one way or another~~~~~~~  "........and we are here today to honor Heero Yuy.  We miss you very much.  I loved him, I am not afraid or embarrassed to admit it.  All of us here have been moved to such an extent I can not explain.  He can finally rest in peace.  I, as well as you, are probably happy that our Perfect Soldier can finally rest.  And I promise I will hold the peace that he made.  He won't have died in vain.  Not one soldier will have.  Not one will ever again.  Now Duo will read a poem I wrote.  You'll understand. Thank you." Relena finished strongly.  She had tears running down her face and her eyes were puffy.  Oh his eyes.  She will miss his deep serious Pursian Blue eyes.  She was snapped out of her thoughts when Duo began to read her poem.  

"This is a poem Relena wrote from her heart and soul.  It's called "Dead".  

There's an empty seat where old folks meet,

When they offer their evening prayer,

And a look forlorn, for the dear one gone,

As they gaze on his vacant chair.

There's a silent grief finds never relief,

And a face whence the bloom has fled,

And a maiden fair, in her beauty rare,

Who weeps for her lover --dead.

There's a lonely grave, where a soldier brave,

Lies asleep in the southern land,

While a rusted gun still gleams in the sun,

On the parched and burning sand.

There' a home above, where the good God's love,

Its perfection ever discloses --

Where the soldier is blest with eternal rest,

And his quiet spirit reposes."  

Duo stopped his rhyming and had tears in his eyes.  Relena was quietly bawling and Noin did her best to comfort her while crying herself.  Someone out of the crowd started clapping and pretty soon everyone was clapping.  An applause for the poem, a peaceful stage in these hard time, Heero's new found peace, and above all.....Life.
