Chapter One

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Since the holidays are almost here, I decided to do a Christmas fic. My first.

This is HYxRP as always.

Does anyone want to be my beta-reader? I'm looking for someone who had good spelling,

Disclaimer: I don't own Gundam Wing. Don't sue me. I am simply borrowing these for my muse. I promise to return them in perfect condition.

Eighteen-year-old Relena Peacecraft starred out of her window into the snow. It was another white winter. Cold one too.

Se was trapped inside the house as usual, signing another dozen piles of paperwork.

Sometimes, she just whished she could be a normal teenager, and this was one of those times.

She signed. The little children in the street were having a snowball fight. Dressed in their little mittens and little hats, they were so cute. Even thought they were screaming bloody murder at each other, they were so adorable.

She wished she could have little kids like that.

Quickly, she pushed those thoughts out of her mind. The only person who she wanted to have children was with… never mind. He didn't care about her anyways.

Stretching her aching fingers, she decided to go the kitchen and get a snack.

She didn't have breakfast. The first thing she did when she woke up a 6 was freshen up then go back to signing those papers.

Walking downstairs and into the living room, she saw her brother, Ms. Noin, Pagan, and all the other servants setting her an enormous Christmas tree.

It was even bigger than last year; Milliardo insisted on buying a new one.

The big real green pine could barely fit in her living room.

It was really beautiful, even though it was only half-decorated.

The multi-colored lights danced to a song only they could hear. The breads and ornaments they had brought from last year was just enough for the big tree. It could use some new ones.

Relena made a mental note to her, next time she went shopping, buy some ornaments.

Milliardo suddenly spotted her, waving his hand, he signaled for her to come over there.

Relena gladly came over to the tree.

"Hey," said Milliardo.

"Hey," said a tired Relena.

And what a sight she was. Brags under her eyes showed that she had hardly gotten enough sleep.

"I forgot to tell you, tomorrow we're having a Christmas Party."

"What?! I still have papers to sign!"

"Forget the papers, I'll do them for you."

"I can't possibly-"

"I said I'll do it for you."

"But-"

"No buts. Only family and friends are invited. I invited all the Gundam pilots and all your friends."

"You did?" at this Relena suddenly seemed very happy.

She smiled truly for once. Her eyes lightened, and the real Relena was back.

Milliardo, Ms. Noin, and Pagan all laughed happy that she was truly happy in those stress filled two years.

Relena woke up bright and early the next morning. Oddly, before anyone else.

She could have gotten a couple hours more of sleep, it was only 6. But she didn't. Today was the party. Today was the day that she would get to see all her friends again. She missed them all a lot and wondered how they were constantly.

But mostly, she wondered about…. Heero.

His face would swarm in her head.

And she would ask the questions that would never get answered.

Are you okay? Do you still think about me?

The questions would haunt her dreams. They never would leave her alone.

And sometimes, she would get no sleep at all. Not an inch. She would wake up tired and exhausted in the morning.

When she did sleep heavily, it was thanks to those precious sleeping pills.

Quickly walking up to the bathroom, she took a look at herself in the mirror.

Honey blonde hair, light blue eyes, and a slim but very matured body, she didn't look too bad.

Like any other girl, she wondered if she was pretty. It wasn't her decision. It should be her boyfriend's. Too bad she doesn't have a boyfriend.

The only person she would giver her heart too doesn't give a damn about her.

Maybe she should go out with one of Milliardo's friends that he was constantly trying to set her up with.

She yarned, tired.

Taking off her PJ's and stepping into the bathtub, she looked forward to a relaxing bath before getting ready.

Duo's endless chatter annoyed Heero for the entire trip to Relena's party.

At least it kept his mind off a certain blonde.

He had been starring out the window, watching each green-leaved plant past by. He saw them and yet didn't see them. His eyes took in the sight, but his mind was somewhere else.

It was drifting somewhere in space, totally un-focused and lazy.

"…And that's when Ojousan said that she wouldn't go out with any guy expect you… Opps! Did I let that slip?" said Duo. The smirk pasted on his face growing wider. Clearly he meant to let that slip.

"What?!" said a Heero that just snapped out of thought.

Duo smirk got even wider, the widest it had ever gotten.

He didn't answer Heero's question, but continued to blabber on and on about the time that Relena held a get-together party and ended up having her house almost destroyed. Only Kami knows why she's hosting another one.

Heero's mind went back into space. Even more filled with thoughts then it was before.

His mind seemed to freeze at Duo's words. "…Ojousan said that she wouldn't go out with any guy expect you…"

Why?

Hadn't she gotten over him by now? It had been two years. Two years of no contact what so ever.

And now they were about to meet again, face-to-face.

This was the perfect time to start-over.

Maybe he should get her a gift. It was Christmas time after all.

But what should he get her?

He didn't even know what she likes. p>But he can't just end up empty handed; even Duo got her a present.

Maybe he should stop by the mall.

"Duo," said Heero.

Duo stopped his talking for a second.

"Yeah bud?"

"We're stopping by at the mall."

"Mall?! YOU want to stop by the mall? Okay! Who are you and what did you do to Heero?"

"Shut up. I need to buy something."

"Since when do you need to buy something? I've never seen to go shopping expect for the teddy-"

"I said shut up. We're stopping by at the mall and it's none of your business what I need to buy."

"Okay, fine by me. I need to see if they have GAP. I heard they had a new turtleneck style..." and there he goes again. On and on about some new style in GAP.

Heero arrived at the party just in time.

Presents brought and minds full, they rung the doorbell and was greeted by Relena.

She was in plain shock that he was here, with Duo too.

She hadn't seen him for two years and all of a sudden, here he was. Standing on her doorstep looking like he always looked.

Great.

His messy dark brown was unruly as ever; the long bags still covered part of his face. He had grown a few inches, probably a good 5'8 or so. He was also more muscular. He had buffed up and matured quite a bit.

He was still wearing that old and worn green top of his, but had exchanged the Spandex for a pair of dark jeans.

He looked great.

Duo was the same as always, the long braid even longer then before. His eyes twinkled and his grin spread at the sight of these two locking eyes.

Duo said the usual "Hi ya Ojousan, wuz up?" and then said something about being hungry and went into the house, towards the kitchen no doubt.

The two just stared at each other; either caring that it was snowing pretty heavy or it was pretty cold.

Very bizarre why Heero was wearing a green top on this cold winter day.

They locked eyes for what seemed like forever, neither spoke. There was no need to.

They felt truly peace and happiness just being in the sight of each other.

They probably won't admit it, but they had missed each other these two years and thought about each other every day.

Yes, Heero too. His eyes were still as cold and unwelcome as ever, the same cold glare. But they seemed to soften a little.

You could clearly tell Relena was glad to see him. Her body language and the way her eyes brightened gave it away.

She wanted to jump into his arms and never let go, but somehow she managed to control that.

This was Heero. Her Heero standing on her doorstep; here for her party. He had come to see old friends, and maybe to see her too (she certainly hoped so).

Maybe this was another dream of her's. She was probably in bed right now, she would wake up any time to find that this was just fantasy; that this could never become reality.

She pinched herself, to make sure this was real.

A tad of pain came up where she had pinched. This was real, this wasn't a dream.

Or maybe this is reality, but Heero wasn't.

She had to touch him, to make sure he won't disappear under her fingertips.

She was hesitate to touch him, scared even.

What would he do? What would he say?

Did he still think she was the annoying little lovesick puppy that he used to think?

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Heero saw her staring at him, and he stared at her too.

She was a true beauty. She had also matured greatly. Her body was not one of a fifteen-year-old girl, but of an eighteen-year old. The baby fat had also disappeared.

She seemed very shocked to see him, which was to be expected since he hadn't been to the once before, and the one before that, and the one before that.

She seemed totally unaware that her door was open, naked to the cold winter.

Her eyes locked on his, never breaking eye contact.

Every emotion possible flood in her eyes, those beautiful light blue innocent eyes.

Heero felt like he could drown in them. To fall into La La Land and never come back into reality.

He felt her touch his arm. For what reason, he didn't know.

Finally she broke the silence, her voice smooth, calm, and in control like always.

But she was a nervous wreck inside. Thoughts jammed and swarm in her head; like a never-ending pool.

"Come on in Heero. I'm glad you could make it."

TO BE CONTINUED (maybe)…

What do you think? Not my best ever… But it's okay, I guess. Up to you to decide to continue or not.
