No Matter What

They walked down a cold corridor. It was dark and too quiet... Heero didn't like that...

"In here." The soldier shoved Relena. She winced but Heero took care of him. He punched the soldier and knocked him unconscious.

"Don't ever touch her again." Heero growled in his soft, but rough voice.

Inside the room there was nothing but 3 chairs and a desk. Two chairs in front of the desk and one big, black, leather chair on the opposite side. This chair was facing the wall.

"Have a seat, Princess. Mr. Yuy..." Someone in the chair spoke slowly...Turning the chair around, he motioned to the chairs in front of the desk. "Sit, make yourself comfortable."

"No, thanks...But why have you captured us?" Came Relena's more soft reply. You could hear the rumbling noise of what could pass as insane laughter.

"No reason, really! I thought we could all just sit down and have a cup of tea!" He remarked sarcastically.

~Meanwhile, Heero is thinking of an idea to get out of this. Coming here was a perfect opportunity.~

"Argh! YOU are the coward!" The man turned fully around. His face was half gone. It was still there, but very much messed up. Acid burns had deformed his now flabby face.

Relena stared at Commander Allen (the man), and went over to him. "Oh, my gosh." She reached to touch his face when he snatched her hand.

"Stay there, Heero. It's ok." She soothed. "How'd this happen?" She asked, turning back to the comander.

"You and those pilots. Which is why I have taken you. Now I'll let you go, or I'll kill you. You decide, you only get one answer." He growled.

"Let me touch your face?'' She tried. Alen had taken out a gun by now, and held it to Relena's head.

"Wrong answer! Back away now, princess...Now!" He freed her hand, but she pushed forward.

"Relena!" Heero ran to her side. She had ducked a little too quickly when she heard the shot, and had fallen...But Heero didn't know that. "Relena?"

"I'm fine. Can we leave now?" Relena asked, pained by his actions. She didn't mind showing it either. Heero noticed it and felt the need to explain.

"Relena, I had to. He was going to kill you. I promised I would always protect you." Heero finished. They slowly walked out of the room...But not too far behind were some 'left-over' soldiers.

Gun shouts rang out in the silence. Relena hit the floor hard, because Heero had thrown her down to avoid her getting shot. ' Damnit! I knew it was too easy!' Heero thought angrily. "Relena, I need you to run! RUN!" He yelled when she hesitated.

A bomb was hurled their way, and Heero yelled again, "Relena! Duck!" Bombs were thrown one after another. One after another, they blew up. 'Too close and too hot.' Heero thought. When things slowed, but weren't done, Heero yelled for Relena. "Relena!?"

"I'm here..." Relena said weakly. A piece of debris had fallen on her. Therefore she was muffled.

"Hold on. I'm coming." He took off the huge piece of metal, and lifted her to her feet. At that moment another bomb sounded. "Relena, Run!!!! Don't look back!" Heero's tone made her run to high heavens. She never looked back, but she never saw him outside when she reached it...Where the preventers had finally found them.

"I can't believe after all that...Wow!" Noin exclaimed. Heero and Relena had come back a month ago, only found separately...Two weeks apart. They took a weeks recovery, and were already back on their feet. ~They finished their intense story, leaving one thing out.

"We have one more announcement." Relena smiled. "Heero and I are together." She said slowly, so it would sink in.

"Wooooo-Hoooooo!" Duo exclaimed. The room erupted into yes's and hoorays!

'Finally, everything's right in the world.' Relena thought on a last note.
