Love’s Choice Epilogue
Katana Force
The breeze blew a gentle course up the hillside, ruffling leaves and flowers in the process. The sun shown with a golden brilliance, warming the group sitting around a giant picnic blanket. It was their yearly tradition to gather at a certain spot on the exact same day that the ‘vacation’ began, and they were now in their fourth year.
The first couple to marry had surprisingly been Sally and Wufei. It had been rather amusing. The day of their announcement had been the day of Hilde and Duo’s wedding. The girls all happened to be in the room with the bride, and Sally had accidentally spilled that she and Wufei had been married for nearly a month. The guys later found out about it, and the rest of the day had been pure torture for Wufei as they egged him on.
They still haven’t given a reason for their elopement.
Next had been Hilde and Duo, who were now expecting their first child. Everyone was excited to hear the great news, and the guys proudly declared themselves uncles. Wufei’s reason, to keep the little tike from getting into trouble like his dad. Quatre’s reason, because he wanted to. Trowa’s reason, well, that was Midii’s fault. Milliardo’s reason, because he wanted a niece. And Heero’s reason, he wanted a niece as well.
Then there were Milliardo and Noin, just entering their third year of marriage. They had a little boy by the name of Drakon, after Milliardo and Relena’s father. He was the spitting image of his dad, and just as demanding at the young age of one. He had been left home with a nanny due to a cold.
Of course, who could forget Quatre and Dorothy. Married just six months ago, the others kept bugging them with the whole ‘newlywed’ bit, from sneaking a kiss during a meal to those secret glances they thought no one else could see. Yep, they were quite a humorous sight to see.
There was also Trowa and Midii, who just happened to return from their honeymoon. Their wedding had probably been the most memorable, if the gallons of tears were any indication. They were a beautiful couple, and the wedding had been so beautiful. Even Duo had refrained from his tricks and jokes.
And finally, there was Relena and Heero. They had come a long way in their relationship in the last four years. And yet, Relena’s hand dropped down to her still flat stomach. She knew Heero wanted a son to call his own, and Relena had tried everything to let his wish come true.
Heero looked over at Relena, watching the emotions in her eyes, studying the way she sat. He noticed her hand drop to her stomach, and he felt a pain of regret travel through him. He did want a son, but it was hurting him to watch Relena suffer with the thought that she was still barren. Pulling his attention away from the conversation, he walked over to his wife and crouched beside her. "Walk with me?"
Relena nodded, letting him take her hand in his own and lead her down a narrow path. They made the small trek in silence, drinking in the beauty that surrounded them. Suddenly Heero came to a halt and she bumped into him.
"Owe, get your brake lights fixed."
Heero turned, a small smile tilting the corner of his mouth. Taking her hand in his own again, he brought her around front and wrapped his arms around her. He felt her weight lean into him, and she sighed in contentment. Resting his chin on her shoulder, he breathed in her scent, remembering just how much he loved her. "Relena, you know I love you, right?"
She nodded, strands of her hair tickling his face.
"And you know absolutely nothing can change that?"
She didn’t move.
Heero pulled back slightly and turned her in his arms so that she was facing him. "Relena, you know that nothing can change my love for you."
She didn’t dare met his eyes lest her secret be out.
"Sweetheart."
The term of endearment sent a shiver down her spine, but she still wouldn’t look at him.
Heero wrapped one arm more snugly around her waist while using his free hand to turn her face towards him. "Love, what’s bothering you?"
Relena looked in his eyes and knew that she could not keep up the game any longer. "I’m just going to miss being so close to you."
"What?"
"Well, if I’m going to have your son, I’m sure not
going to be small."
Heero’s eyes widened slightly, running her words this his head. He came to one startling conclusion. "Are you...."
"Yes, I am." Relena squealed as Heero picked her up and swung her around, a real smile lighting his features. "Heero! Heero! Put me down!"
Finally complying, he set her feet on the ground and buried her in an embrace.
Relena tried to stop her head from spinning, concentrating on something else. Heero’s lips on her own, however, was enough to bring the world to a complete standstill. To them, only they, and the child growing inside Relena, existed.
Disclaimer: Don’t own, don’t claim.
Okay, okay, I know that was wimpy, but I’ve got two other series in the works right now taking up a lot of my time. To answer the many people who keep questioning me, no, there won’t be a sequel. Sorry, but I was never that good with romance anyway.
Minor note: I KNOW that Midii and Trowa aren’t siblings. I know that’s what I said in part one, but its a long story. Originally (when this was started by another person) she had it as TBxCB. I went and had my computer change it, but I somehow missed the warning in chapter one. So, now you know the story.
This is Katana Force, signing off. Well, until you read Unseen Forces, 1NC: Silent War, or something else I wrote.
