Gemini’s Fury

Chapter 1

May 31, AC 203

Trowa! Trowa! She ran down the dark hallway, hoping to find him.

She ran and ran and ran, and it never seemed to end.

And endless black hole.

Kai came to a halt and leaned against the cold concrete wall to catch her breath.

‘God Trowa were are you?’ She looked around and saw nothing but black.

‘What’s the use.’

Deciding that going further was her only choice she straightened up and pushed back her damp tresses. But when her hand came to her face, it felt damp.

‘Strange…I’m not sweating…’

She looked down at her hands and saw blood. She looked around and saw black.

"How’s that possible," she whispered to no one. She looked over at the wall and couldn’t see a thing. But when she touched it, it was wet.

There was a bright flash of light and she was in a room…all white.

She spun around and faced the same thing: white.

"Where am I!"

Her voice echoed and she covered her ears. The echoes were too loud.

"Kai." Kai let go of her ears and looked around. "Who are you?"

"Kai…I found you…"

The soft voice rose in an eerie laughter. Kai looked down and saw a pool of blood surrounding her with the quickness. Kai tried running, but she was stuck. "You’re going nowhere but to hell!"

The blood rose around her and engulfed her, turning into heavy flames. The raging fire was burning Kai as she screamed from the pain and watched her flesh turn black…

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Trowa looked up from his book towards the stairs. A crash came from the kitchen followed by and aggravated scream. Wufei stomped out of the kitchen fumed.

"What the hell is going on?"

"I don’t know who-"

"NOOOOOOO! Trowaaaaaaaaaaa!" Trowa jumped out of his seat and took two at a time until he came to the top floor. He burst into Kai’s room and saw her trashing in her bed.

"Kai!" Trowa ran to her bed and tried to calm her down. He gently grabbed her shoulders and shook her slightly. But Kai reacted differently. She gave him a hard left hook, sending him to the floor. Trowa landed with a thud and a slightly swollen cheek. Kai stopped screaming and sat up panting. Trowa stood up rubbing his cheek and looked Kai. She looked frightened and was soaked.

"Are you all right?" Kai looked over at Trowa and tackled him. "Trowa…I was burning and it was hot and terrible. I tried to run, but it came and swallowed me and…"

"Kai. It’s okay. I’m here." He hugged her tightly until she calmed down. Trowa looked up to see Heero and Wufei standing in the doorway. He looked down at Kai and asked her again.

She nodded. "I’ll be right back." He sat her down on the bed and approached the two.

"We need to talk," was all Heero said. He turned around and headed for the den. Trowa and Wufei followed.

When they reached the den, Heero locked the door behind them. After they situated themselves to their liking Heero started. "We have to know."

"What happened when they were in the house," Wufei finished. "Ever since they came back from their vacation, they’ve been waking up screaming like someone’s trying to kill them."

Trowa sighed and thought about it. Heero spoke again. "Relena, your sister, and Leyla nearly killed themselves last week. Kitora, Hilde, Sally, Noin and Kai are stabilizing."

"You called what just happened stabilizing? I dropped the frames for the kitchen door and it broke the dishes filled with food that was on the island…not to mention that that was our lunch."

"But she’s not as bad as she used to be. It used to be where if she’d daydream she’d begin to scream," Trowa remarked.

"Did she tell you anything since," Heero asked.

"No. And neither have the others I reckon?"

"No."

"Maybe we should try hypnosis and see what happened," Wufei suggested.

"As much as I hate your idea, maybe we should," Heero answered.

"I thought we all agreed on letting them tell us when they’re ready?"

Heero was about to argue until the phone rang. Trowa answered it.

"Trowa here."

"Trowa this is Quatre. Where’s Wufei?"

Trowa looked over at Wufei. "He’s right here."

"Tell him to come down to Cambridge Hospital. It’s very important."

"Quatre, what’s wrong?"

"It’s Sally." Quatre hung up the phone and Trowa did the same. He looked at Wufei and spoke only a name.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Kitora looked up from the bed sheets once she heard the door open. She saw Wufei rush in and run to Sally’s bedside. Quatre, Duo, and Malcolm stood by the door. Kitora looked over at Sally and saw that she had calmed down. She slowly changed her sitting position and sat Indian style. She watched as Wufei talked soothingly to his fiancé. She watched as her friend fall asleep. ‘I watched as he grabbed her and tormented her and did nothing about it.’ But she didn’t see Malcolm approach her.

She looked up at him and eyed him before she moved over and looked at her previous point of interest. ‘Why is it interesting to watch him soothe her?’ She gave a small sad smile. ‘Cause he’s never been like this in public before.’ Malcolm placed a hand on hers and rubbed it.

"Are you okay?" She looked at her fiancé and smiled.

"Yeah." Then she looked over at Sally. "But…it will take her longer. Much longer."

"What do you mean," Malcolm asked. He took a glance at Quatre and Duo and they closed the door. Kitora changed positions again and sat on her heels. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

"I’ve been ready for a while. Now is the time."

"Time for what," Quatre questioned.

Kitora looked over at Sally and began her story. She didn’t know how they were going to react to it, but letting them investigate it would cause problems.

"You guys know of the vacation that we all took…and what condition we were in when we came back…" She took a deep breath and kept her eyes on Sally. "But…but none of us told you about what happened because at first we couldn’t. But after a week past, we all agreed on not telling you at all. But now we don’t have a choice because it’s haunting us like crazy, and we can’t take it anymore."

By this time, Wufei turned his attention to Kitora and listened.

"We were first amazed at how we were able to get the Cranes’ permission to stay in their house for the week. But even more surprised when we found out that they weren’t there to greet us…"

Flashback

Noin pulled up the winding driveway and stopped at the vast doors to the huge house. It was a six-story mansion with vast windows all over. "Wow. There must be a lot of sunshine on the inside as there is on the outside," Kai commented. "Well there’s only one way to find out," Noin said as she cut the engine and got out of the car. Thirty minutes later, seven women stood in front of the double wooden doors…arms full and all. "Okay…so who’s going to knock on the door," Kitora asked. Hilde struggled to get a hand up to the brass knocker and banged on the door three times. "There, that should do it." Not too long after an old woman answered. "Maybe I help you," she spoke softly. For a woman that looked as old as she did, her voice was extremely soft and pleasant. "The Cranes aloud us to stay her for a week. We’re..." She was interrupted by the woman’s gasp. "Oh yes. She did tell me about it…"

Kitora shuddered when Malcolm put a comforting arm around her. Duo walked over and took a seat on the other side of the bed. "What happened Kitora?" She continued.

"Well nothing happened actually, when we got there. But it was about two days after we settled ourselves in when strange things began to happen. At first we thought we were playing with each other’s heads. But when he appeared…"

"Relena…are you in there?" Noin knocked lightly on her sister-in-law’s door. When she didn’t get an answer, she decided to walk in and see what was up. She came across an empty tidy room. ‘That’s weird. I could’ve sworn I saw her come in here…’ Noin walked over to the huge bathroom and flicked on the lights. Momentarily she was blinded, but when her eyes refocused, she saw a man standing by the Jacuzzi. "Excuse me, but I don’t think you’re supposed to be in here." The lean figure slowly turned around and Noin gasped. "Zechs!?!" The man smiled and slowly approached her. "Noin, how are you." Noin shook her head and began backing away. "You…you sound like Quatre." The face then changed and now she was staring at a deep-green eyed man with raven tresses that came down to the back of his knees. He wore all black with a flowing cape and looked very muscular. He had a mustache and beard, tan skinned and was very mysterious. "Who are you?" Noin whispered. "For starters my name is Vladimere." In a swift motion the door was closed, locked and he was behind her. He grabbed her wrists pulled them behind him. She was paralyzed. He leaned in and whispered in her ear. "Remember my name…because you might be screaming for mercy…Mrs. Peacecraft…" He squeezed her wrists and bit down on her neck until Vladimere could be heard through the halls…

"He…he…he just tortured her." Tears steadily fell down her face and Malcolm continued to wipe them. Kitora continued. "We found her lying in Relena’s bed covered in blood. It wasn’t hers and…we watched as it came from the ceiling. It fell steadily down onto her and the bed. She kept chanting Zechs’ name and when we looked at her eyes…her eyes were so vacant. Relena and I approached the bed slowly and when we reached her, it looked as if the blood was never there-"

"What do you mean as if it were never there," Wufei asked.

"I mean, one moment it is the next it’s gone. Kai was next…but we found her in the garden with rose thorns coiled around her. Catherine, Leyla, and Sally…"

Hilde ran down the hall towards the screams. She came to the wine cellar and forced herself to open it. Inside she saw them. Catherine, Leyla, and Sally were screaming because they were being tortured...brutally. Hilde began to back away but found she couldn’t. She heard light chanting…females whispering and calling to her. She looked ahead and saw a man dressed in all black with wings of midnight. He beckoned to her and she slowly approached him.

"Kai…please stop. Where are you taking us," Relena groaned. "We have to stop them. We have to save them before he takes them." "No, we have to watch Noin and make sure she’s okay," Kitora yelled. Relena turned quickly and grabbed Kitora’s shoulders. "You stay and make sure she’s fine, please." Kitora nodded and headed in the opposite direction. Once Kai and the others reached the cellar, it was dark. "Sally?" Kai reached for the switch but felt the cool hard wall. "Hilde? Noin? Where are you?" Relena stepped inside and looked around. She couldn’t see a thing. "I don’t think anyone’s here?"

Kitora entered the room slowly and looked around. She saw Noin tossing and turning but became still after a few seconds. She looked over at the window and saw that the storm had past.

The girls huddled in the middle of the room once the door shut with a bang. "Who closed the door," Relena yelled. "Vladimere…he calls for you Relena…" "Hilde?" "Hahahahaha…Kai…Kai where are you?" Soft, haunting laughter could be heard echoing in the room. "Where’s you friend?" "Kitora…" "Sally...Come here…"

"She told me…she told me that they were split up somehow. Relena ended up in a field of flowers…Hilde was on a beach, Kai said she saw Trowa being dragged away by the demons and she tried running after them. That’s how we found her…"

"Relena looked around and found herself admiring the flowers and their sent. "They’re beautiful…" She knelt down and picked a daisy. She took in it’s sent and smiled. Relena smiled…and that was all she could do. "Kai got away…she’s run-ing…Kai…Kai!" Relena looked around with a cool-aid smile plastered to her face and tears falling. The whispering and laughter wasn’t comforting. It was haunting. She got up and began running until she ran into…"Heero?" "You shouldn’t smile alone." He pointed and there they were. Hilde, Leyla, Catherine, and Sally were hanging from fishing hooks, blood a steady drip, swinging slowly with their arms outreached towards Relena. "Why are the smiling?" "Relena? Relena…come to us…" "Smile with them…Relena!" Heero grabbed her by the throat and threw her into a boiling pool of snake’s blood. Relena came to surface and realized that she was in a gusher with snakes. She didn’t feel the pain of their bites…but the pain of her flesh burning.

"Trowa?" "Kai! Don’t run from me. It’s me…Hilde." "Where’s Trowa! What have you done with him and my friends?" "They’re dead…burning, burning, burning. Just like you will!" "Trowa! Trowa! She ran down the dark hallway, hoping to find him.

She ran and ran and ran, and it never seemed to end.

And endless black hole.

"Then it was my turn to encounter him. I didn’t see it…see him coming, but I felt it. Noin woke up from her sleep and I went to her bedside and asked if she needed anything. When she looked at me she looked as if she was frightened. I kept telling her that it was I but she kept saying ‘Vladimere’. I then realized that he was behind me. I wasn’t fast enough to move out of his grasp, but he grabbed me and threw me on the bed. Noin scrambled out of the bed and huddled in the corner…"

"Kitora…" Vladimere whispered her name and brushed his lips lightly against her ear. "I know where your friends are." "Let them go…" Kitora whispered. Vladimere smiled. "Listen to them…" Noin watched as she saw the walls in the room change. Her friends, the rest of them, they were in a lounge that was surrounded by fire. They had wings that were red…blood red. They hissed at the site of Noin and Noin scampered to the middle of the room. "I’ll take you…Relena…Hilde and Kai…" Kitora looked over at Noin and then at the walls. ‘I can’t let that happen.’ "No…" Vladimere only smiled and touched her face softly. "Come for me first Kitora. Let me take you…"

"Did he rape you," Malcolm asked.

"No."

"Did he rape the others," Quatre asked.

"No."

"How did you guys get out," Quatre asked.

"Noin stabbed him in the back with a letter opener. After seeing that it didn’t work, she continuously stabbed him in the head. Then we were all in the room scared and shaken. I was never afraid of red, the color red…I…can’t say anymore."

"Why not," Wufei asked.

"I don’t know how but I don’t remember. The stories are all the same. And we won’t remember anything else after that. But I’m pretty sure something happened. Just don’t know what."

"I’ll tell Heero about it-"

Kitora jumped from the bed and grabbed Quatre by the collar. "You guys can’t go there. You mustn’t. It’s too dangerous. The house isn’t even there now. It never was!" Kitora let him go and turned to Sally, whom was wide-awake. "Don’t think I’m crazy or the rest of us. But he’s out there and he’s coming."

"You told them," she whispered.

"I had to."

"He’ll come for you Kitora. He will."

Malcolm walked over to Kitora and held her. "Why would he?"

"A Gemini…a Gemini is two-faced. And is the sign of the twins. There cannot be a balance without good and evil. Both have to be together…"

"So he has a twin," Wufei asked.

"But what does that have to do with all of this," Duo asked.

"I had a dream a while ago, after we came back. The house is still there, but it’s abandoned. Vladimere and his family used to live in that house, way before the colonies were in outer space. The family was accused of sorcery and was murdered. Vladimere returned and plans on taking revenge on those descendants that killed him and his family…but by attacking those closest to them."
