The night seemed too endless.

Nobody, nothing.

Blank.

That's the night.

How she hated it.

Lying in that bed, she cried and cried. Praying and begging to God to have somebody save her.

And her thoughts, her thoughts about Heero, they were a video being played again and again in her head. They haunted her, just would not leave her alone.

They never ever let her rest, even a minute.

Her mind just wandered into some unknown part of space. Never could the happiness and the twinkle in her eyes be saved.

Soundly, a noise. The doors opened with a BANG!

A man begun to creep into the dark room. His face was hidden.

"Heero?"

"No."

His face came into view. It was Jordan.

Relena was happy to have company, to keep her thoughts of Heero.

She was so surprised when Jordan pointed a gun at her. She gasped.

"Jordan?!"

He spoke no word.

"Jordan?"

Silence.

"Why do you want to kill me?"

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

"Marshall," said Heero.

His face remained cool and calm.

"We meet again," said the enemy.

"Yes."

"How long has it been my dear Heero?" he paused and paced around the mental room. "Too long," he continued.

Silence.

"I see you're here for her."

Silence.

"Why don't you put that gun down. You can't use it in this room."

Heero tried to fire a bullet at Marshall. The bullet simply fell to the floor. He was stunned.

"I see you like my invention. Magnetic force, only attract bullets. Quite an invention no?"

Even more silence.

"Still the silent warrior I see."

"Get to the point," said Heero.

"Very well. Here is the deal. I have my grandson pointing a gun at her. I challenge you to a game of swords. If I win, I get to keep the princess forever. If you win, I'll give her back to you. But, no funny business. There's a hidden microphone on me. If I give the word, you precious little girl dies."

"Liar. You'll have him shot when I win."

"Maybe I will, maybe I won't. But that's the best deal. See, you can't get out. The doors are locked. You won't be able to get them open."

A grunt was heard from Heero.

"I'll take that as a yes."

Marshall pressed a hand on a square in the wall.

Another square opened and two sharp glimmering swords feel to the ground. One was bigger than the other. Marshall took the big one for himself and kicked the handle of the smaller one to Heero.

Complete unfairness.

Still, Heero being Heero, didn't complain.

"Ready?" asked Marshall. He didn't wait for Heero's answer.

Marshall trust the sword at Heero, Heero was lucky to block such a powerful bow. Marshall didn't wait, he struck again and again. Each one Heero blocked. Marshall was too fast for Heero to struck one of his own.

The sound of swords clinking was heard everywhere in that little room. Sweat pored from both of them. Heavy breathing was heard.

As Heero continued to block Marshall's bows, he had no idea that Relena was next door.

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

The sound of swords could be heard in Relena's room. After all she was right next door.

"Jordan why are you doing this?" asked Relena.

She got no answer.

"Jordan, please… Do you hear the sound of swords Jordan? Do you hear? That's Heero and your grandfather. They're fighting. Somebody could get hurt."

Silence.

"Jordan! You can't ignore me! Put that gun down! One of them is going to die and you know it!"

By now her voice was one of panic. Heero was here. Heero was fighting with Marshall. One would die. And she didn't want any to die over her. She would rather die for them.

For some reason, she felt pity for Marshall. She still believed there was a good place in his heart.

"Go stop them Jordan! There's no use for this! Can't you see? This is useless! Nobody's going to get anywhere with wars! Jordan?!"

Jordan continued not to answer her.

Relena's tears threatened to fall. One of them going to die. She didn't want any of them to die.

She didn't even want Marshall to die.

"Jordan… Please listen to me," she continued. Jordan still had the gun pointed in her face. "Jordan, either Heero or your grandfather are going to die. You know that. You said you forgive Heero. Are you sure that's the truth? If that was the truth then you wouldn't have this gun in my face. I know Marshall made you do this. I know that. Because the Jordan I know wouldn't do this! He's a kind gentleman."

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Heero was losing badly. Marshall slashed him everywhere. He was covered in blood. His strength was leaking away like a river. He wouldn't hold on much longer.

He was dying.

He stopped another life-threating bow.

He couldn't fight back. He was so weak. So weak.

Heero collapsed on the hard mental floor.

"You weakling!" said Marshall.

Marshall kicked him, sending him flying into the wall. He crashed with a loud BANG!

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Meanwhile…

"Do you know why Heero fought in that battle. Do you know why Heero fought in that battle that killed you parents? He fought so you don't have to fight. Did you think he liked it or something? Did you?! No! He hated it! He hated the blood that stained his hands. So why did he do it? He did it to end this war! So that your children and your children's children won't have to suffer. He suffered for them. He suffered for you! For you Jordan!"

Tears flowed from her eyes, she was shaking all over. She was so upset.

Jordan seemed unmoved.

"Please Jordan. I don't want to lose any of them. I know that is still a good part left in Marshall's heart. I want to save them, please. I want them to live a happy life. Full of love and happiness. I want them to live."

And loud BANG that sounded like a body being slammed to the wall was heard. A wave of more panic spread though her like a disease. Her sobs eachoed in the room.

"Do you hear that Jordan?!" se pointed to the direction the noise came from. "That could be Heero! Or your grandfather! Not even the worst criminal deserves that! Would you help me Jordan? Will you help me? Will you help me to give them a happy life?"

A couple moments of silence followed.

Then the gun dropped onto the floor.

"I will help you," said Jordan. "They're right next door."

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Ow.

Heero had the air slammed out of him.

Marshall was going to win.

But he would not give up hope.

He was hurt all over. As weak as he was, he managed to crawl to his knees.

Marshall stood over him, laughing. Laughing a hideous evil laugh.

"I have beat you Heero Yuy! I am the best and greatest!"

I will not give up. I will fight to death.

I WILL defeat Marshall. I WILL save Relena.

Another kick. Marshall probably broke his rib.

"Cry out! Cry out in pain!"

Another kick. And another.

The pain was unbearable. All he saw of pain… and blood. His blood.

Heero collapsed on his back. His sword still in his hand.

Marshall raised his large vicious sword over Heero.

He was going to give the last bow.

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Relena ran out the door, tears in her eyes.

She had to save them in time.

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Closer and closer the sword got.

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

Faster and faster she ran.

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

The sword was almost touching his skin.

@>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~ @>~~

She found the door, raced to get it open.

"Stop!"
