Deadly Intentions: Chapter 7

Back at the Dinner Party . . .



Heero glanced all around the room and saw no one he then glanced back at Relena.  She was still sitting at her table talking with Milliardo and Noin.  He continued to search the room and looked above him at the balcony.  No one.  Then finally at the other far corner of the room was a man sweating incredibly.  He was definitely going to keep his eye on him.



"And now ladies and gentlemen, I give you the former Queen of the World and the beautiful Miss Relena Peacecraft", said an announcer and a around of applause started.



Relena got up from her seat and made her way to the podium.  Heero returned his glance at the man. He saw him take out a gun as did Heero.  When he had his aim at the man the lights went out and a spotlight was now focused on Relena.  With the lights out he couldn't see a thing so he put his gun away and made his way toward the spot light just enough to have light and see the man, he was also about 10 feet from Relena's back.  Heero could now see him perfectly he had his gun aimed directly at Relena, but he still could get an aim on the guy because people were blocking him.



"Thank you all for coming here", Relena said as she began her speech.  "As you may all know new weapons has been enforced.  There has been a lot of talk about this and the effect it will have on peace.  The one question I receive at the meetings I attend to is Why enforce new weapons when peace has been restored?"  The answer is simply to . . ."



Heero meanwhile was staring at the guy, he saw that he was about to pull the trigger.  At the instant Heero launched toward Relena from the back knocking her to the ground with him on top of her.



"That is why- ACK!"  screamed Relena as she hit the ground hard.



Immediately she heard a gunshot and then chaos broke out, people ran and screamed.  She realized that a man knocked her down, she turned her head and saw it was Heero.



"He- Heero?" Relena said in disbelief.



"Keep your head down" was all Heero said.



"What?  Why?"



"No time to explain just keep your head down".







As a gunshot broke out Duo, Quarte, and Trowa took out their guns instantly. They first checked to see if Relena was okay, noticing that Heero lied on top of her protecting her from any gunshots they then looked for the person or persons that were involved.  They saw a man running away and followed him.  He was now running though the exit, as all of them were about to run though the exit door, Wuefi came in and bumped into them.  They all fell to the ground hard.

"Shit Wuefi.  What were you doing?" asked Duo.

"Maxwell! I was running in about to help out when I ran into you pathetic fools!

They all realized it was no use to search for the guy since probably he was a long way away now so they went to see how Relena was.







Heero got off of Relena and pulled her up to her feet.  "Are you alright?" he asked.



"Ye- yes", she replied.



"Relena, Relena!  Oh thank goodness you're alright", said Milliardo as he ran up to her and hugged her tightly for the longest time.



"Yes brother I'm fine . . . thanks to Heero".



He let her go and turned to Heero.  "Good work Yuy".



  All he did was nod.  Duo, Quarte, Trowa, and Wuefi came up to her.  "Hey Lena you okay?" asked Duo.



"Yeah I'm fine.  But what are all of you doing here?"



"It's an interesting story".
