Relena Peacecraft Darlian, Vice Foreign Minister of the Earth Sphere Unified Nation, stood behind the double-paned glass window, watching the trees and other vegetation dance to a silent tune. It was such a peaceful scene, calming her troubled soul.

Over towards the east the sun rose in a lazy fashion, bestowing upon the land its wakeup call. It was a new day. The mistakes of yesterday could be forgotten, and new ones could be made. Perhaps, today, no mistakes would be made.

Yet Relena's conscious, which she had dubed her own personal jury, was still out. Their debate covered the question, was what she was doing a mistake?

"Midii, what is the general plan for today?" She questioned of the blonde standing patiently by the room's only desk.

"You are meeting with the Board of Directors of Education for the kingdom today. Your brother was originally supposed to meet with them, but his schedule is too full with the Preventers."

"And mine isn't?"

Midii smiled at the woman and pulled out the schedule.

"What else have we got?"

"Sally Po of the Preventers will be here around 1300."

Relena turned away from the window, a frown marring her features. "What for?"

"She won't say."

Relena chuckled, "What did you find out?"

"She'll be coming here to ask for your help on behalf of the Preventers."

Relena pulled out her office chair and sat down. "MY help? Give me the whole story here, because you are not making sense."

"The Preventers have been trying to locate the Gundam pilots. They haven't been heard from since they completed their last mission for the Preventers over a year ago, and they seem to think that you know where they are."

Resting her elbows on her desk, Relena put her hands together, tapped her fingers against her rosy lips, and leaned forward. "And where are they?"

Midii consulted her note pad. "Supposedly? Chang is in Italy. Maxwell is in Moscow. Winner is in Hong Kong. Barton is in Thailand. Yuy is in Jerusalem."

"Those are interesting places. Dare I ask how you knew that?"

"No, I wouldn't if I were you."

Relena laughed. "What else have we got?"

"Wedge wants to meet with you for a while. He didn't say why." Midii's usually bland features turned pensive. "Relena, are you and Wedge romantically involved?"

Relena nearly choked at the question, a fact that was not lost on Midii as she rushed on to apologize. "I'm sorry, that's none of my business. Forgive me for asking."

"No, no, Midii, it's okay." Taking a few deep breaths, Relena calmed her pounding heart. "Wedge and I are only good friends, Midii. Although I do find him handsome, I can not consider him more than a friend and colleague."

Midii nodded, "Is it because he is married?"

"No. It's because of someone else." Relena's face broke out into a grin. "Besides, would I want to be married to someone that I can easily beat in fleet maneuvers?"

The two friends shared a good laugh before continuing with their day.

*************************

Relena nodded at the blonde woman as she entered the expansive office. "Colonel Po, please take a seat. Would you like something to drink?

Sally Po took the seat indicated and shook her head no. She had been expecting the meeting to be anything but warm, and she had not been disappointed. If it was even possible, the minister seemed to be a bit more aloof than when she had last seen her.

Relena took a seat behind her mahagony desk and studied the Preventer. "Why have you come, Colonel Po?"

"We need to know where the Gundam pilots are."

"Why?"

Sally matched her gaze for gaze. "Some new information has come to light that has the Preventer Agency worrying about security at the upcoming anniversary party."

Relena opened a drawer in the desk, pulled out a small, black disk, shut the drawer, and slid the disk across the desk to the Preventer. "Those aren't their locations, but any messages sent there will be forwarded to them."

"Thank you."

"Is there anything else you needed to discuss with me?"

"Une was wondering if you had given any more thought to donating land to the government. She is rather eager to get the new Preventer Headquaters built here."

Relena nodded in understanding, a slight smile tilting her lips. "Tell her that I'll get into contact with her."

"Thank you for your time, Miss Darlian."

Relena stood with Sally and surprised the older woman by shaking her hand. "I hope everything goes well, Colonel Po. If you need anything else, please don't be afraid the ask."

Overcome by the sudden change in the woman, it took Sally a moment to responed in kind. "We will. Good day."

Midii slipped in a moment after Sally had left. "It take it everything went well?"

"About as well as was expected. Do we have a good lock yet on who is targeting the anniversary party?"

"Except for the fact that they are Imperial, no. Intelligence is working on it as fast as they can, but with attention divided as it is, we can't be sure will find them."

"Attention shouldn't be divided Midii. This should be one of our main focuses."

"Agreed."

Une glanced down at the information scrolling across her screen. Some of her intelligence agents had been busy bringing in information that had her analysts quite puzzled. They knew there was an enemy out there, but the thing of it was, they couldn't see the enemy.

The danger was there, inching its way in.

"But where is it coming from?"

******************

"Duo! Put my sword DOWN!" Wufei stomped across the room to the smirking Duo.

"Gesh, don't be so protective. It's only a sword."

"How would you like it if I started to tinker with your motorcycle?"

Duo's look became one of outrage. "Don't you dare!"

Wufei nodded in triumph, "My point exactly."

Duo opened his mouth but quickly closed it again. "Humph."

Trowa and Quatre exchanged glances but chose to remain silent.

"Good, you are all he- wait, where's Heero?" Sally stopped mid-sentence and mid-stride, taking in the room's occupants.

"We don't know."

Quatre looked up and turned red. "Opps, I forgot to tell you. He won't be coming. His exact words were 'mission: denied'."

"WHAT! Heero never says that!" Duo plopped down in a chair. "That's it. This mission is doomed to fail."

"Not necessarily, Duo. He might be doing some undercover work." Trowa remarked.

"That reminds me. Dorothy told me a few days ago that she had some 'special work' to do. She told me to not try to contact her for a while."

"Quatre, when did you start contacting Dorothy?"

Quatre turned red at Duo's questioning gaze. "Well, I....."

"Enough of this bickering! Woman, why have you called us?"

"Thank you, Wufei. Always straight to the point-"

"Yeah, the point of his shiny black head." Duo dryly commented.

Wufei turned to Duo, raising his sword in a diagonal fashion. "Watch it."

"That's enough! We have a mission for you, and I would like it if you would sit down and shut up!" The four pilots sat in the nearest chairs and waited for the angry major to continue. "That's better." Sally took a deep breath before she began, "We have several undercover agents infiltrating a rogue group calling themselves the Enforcers. We only know that this group's intentions are hostile. Our sources say that they are planning an attack at the Colonies' 210th Anniversary Party. No officials have been notified. No one knows this group exists. We need your help in making sure the security for the celebration is impenetrable. You will each be given your own divisions to look over. Do you accept?" The pilots sat in momentary silence.

"You've got my help." Quatre spoke first.

Wufei eyed Sally before answering, "I will assist you."

"Count me in." Duo spoke up. All eyes turned to Trowa.

"No."

The other members of the room quickly gave protests, but a raised hand from Trowa silenced them.

It was then that Quatre's question got through. "Why not?"

"I have more pressing matters at hand."

"What could be more important than protecting peace?"

"I said, no."

Sally inclined her head towards Trowa in concession. "The rest of you will report to Lady Une's office at 0600 tomorrow." With that, she walked out.

"Trowa, why didn't you agree to help?"

"Duo, you wouldn't understand."

"Why wouldn't I? What is your more pressing matter?"

"None of your business." Trowa walked out of the room without further word to anyone.

"Trowa, wait!" Duo was about to run after the tall pilot as Quatre laid a restraining hand on Duo's shoulder.

"Duo, let Trowa go do his own thing."

******************

Relena smiled at the man sitting across from her. She knew her silence was getting to him, not because he found it insulting, but because he knew her well enough to know that something was troubling her deeply.

"Where in the galaxy has your mind wandered off to?" His brown eyes were soft and warm, and his brown hair fell across his forehead in a manor that it gave him a roguish charm. Wedge Antilles was the closest thing to a best friend that she had.

"No place too far, I think. It's just that things have been flowing so smoothly lately that it's given me time to dwell on how I got here in the first place. And as I think about it, unanswered questions are arising."

Wedge took a bite of his steak and chewed thoughtfully for a time. "It does leave a lot to be desired."

"No kidding. We've keep this alliance a secret for how many years? Not to mention how this all started in the first place."

Wedge frowned. "How did it start?"

"Five years ago. A New Republic scouting ship stumbled upon this system, and a diplomatic crew plus some intelligence officers decided to pay us a visit. They had somehow decided that I was their best bet for making contact first." Relena chuckled. "It was an interesting meeting, that's for sure. I thought it was all a really good joke. I mean, someone comes into my office and tells me that this solar system has just been discovered, and we are, in fact, not alone in the universe."

Wedge laughed as well. "I have to admitt, it is hard for me to understand what you went through, but it does sound funny."

"It wasn't until I agreed to go up to their ship, the Explorer, that I had to swallow my first few bits of hard facts. Not seven hours later, though, an Imperial cruiser drops out of hyperspace just outside of Pluto."

"And that was when High Command was contacted, and Admiral Ackbar came out her personally."

"Dragging you along for the ride." Relena added."

"Right, but how were we to know what we had stumble upon?"

Relena shrugged and took a bit of her potato. She swallowed hard when an alarming thought hit her. "But the thing is, how did my brother get the blueprints for those ships? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that they have been built, but how?"

"I don't know, Relena. A lot of things happened that are questionable, but at that time we were dealing with the supposed reserrection of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Not to mention the Caamas Document. It was a hard time for the New Republic, and our forces were directed elsewhere. For a time, your system remained nearly neglected and forgotten."

"And during that time we were able to build up our forces at an incredible rate."

"General!"

Wedge turned and watched a harried ensign come to a screeching halt beside him.

"General, urgent message from Fleet Command."

Wedge took the data pad and scrolled through the information. Halfway through he broke out into a pained grin and had to resist the urge to shout out his anger.

Relena watched the emotions rush over his face, curiosity eating at her. "Well, what does it say?"

Handing the data pad back, he dismissed the ensign. "The Lusankya has completed its refit and is now ready for active duty."

"What's the Lusankya?"

"A Super-class Star Destroyer that had been put into drydock and then a mueseum. The New Republic has not seen the need to flash such power around after we had captured the ship from the Imperials. Just recently, with the new ship production taking so long, they felt the need to pull the Destroyer out of dry dock and put her back on active duty."

"That's good. So why the long face."

Wedge sighed and dropped his fork. "As much as it was nice having command of the Lusankya, I really enjoyed command of my starfighter unit, Rogue Squadron."

"Oh, and High Command just put you back in charge of the Lusankya." Relena winced. "That had to hurt."

"I can't see how you would understand." Wedge's grin turned wry. "You quite enjoy your job as Fleet Commander."

Relena's grin was huge. "You are right there."

******************

"What did they say?" Heero asked over the hanger noise.

"They were shocked, but they let me go. Duo kept firing questions at me."

Heero nodded, glad that he had not been ordered to report in to the Preventers. "He was supposed to anyway. As we suspected, Une was watching from the security room."

Trowa nodded. "I don't like deceiving people this way. I thought we left all that behind us when we destroyed our Gundams."

"You've seen it for yourself, Trowa. Things won't ever be the same again." Heero stopped and studied the rows of starfighters. Every design of New Republic starfighter was present, minus the Y-wing. The Katana leaders had deemed the Y-wing too costly and too outdated for the operation.

"Which ones are ours?" Trowa questioned.

Heero pointed to a large gathering of X-wings to his left. "The ones painted in the blue and white are ours."

Trowa studied the fighters from the distance, taking in the smooth lines and new paint on the hulls. They were interesting in design, quite foreign; but that was not uncommon. It seemed that everything was becoming foreign. He just hoped he could handle it.

As if reading his thoughts, Heero questioned Trowa. "Nervous?"

"Yes. You?"

Heero took one more look around the vast expanse of the secondary hanger before turning and heading for a nearby door. "We have to go report in." was his only answer.

******************

Hours later, Heero and Trowa had split up and gone off to do their own thing, only to find themselves back together again. The two were currently in the Intelligence sector of the base, assissting in solving some computer gliches. Commander Phoenicia "Phoenix" Aneirin, New Republic Intelligence, worked alongside them.

They had been working in silence for the past hour, and Phoenix was getting uncomfortable. She opted for a safe avenue of conversation. "May I ask, Generals, how you two came to be a part of this group?"

They gave no noticeable reaction to her question, and she was about to give up when Trowa spoke. "Two years ago, Relena approached me and informed me of the situation. Had it not been for Heero's confirmation, I would not have believed her."

"Knowing there's other life in the galaxy must have been hard to get used to."

Trowa shook his head. "No, that was not all that hard to believe. It was hard to believe that Relena Darlian had started an organization such as this."

Phoenix paused in her work, studying the two men. "Why is it so hard to believe. She seems to be a very copetant leader."

"It's not her leadership skills we questioned." Heero broke in. "It was her idealism and pacifistic ways that made it hard to believe she could have organized a group as large as the Katana Division."

"I have reviewed her record, and she has seemed to change some from what her past actions would indicate." Phoenix finished off the final sequence and leaned back to view her work. "It seems the circumstances have caused her to change for the better."

Heero and Trowa shared a doubting glanced before finishing their own work.

***************

Relena walked into the briefing room and took a seat towards the head of the oblong table. To her left, Wedge took a seat as well, setting down his data pad and a few data cards. The two friends exchanged glances before Relena called the meeting to order.

The majority of personnel gathered were New Republic. The highest rank begin General Wedge Antilles on down to Commander Anernin. Present only for the Katana Division was herself, her second-in-command of Fleet ops, Colonel Midii Une, and a very tense Lucrezia Noin, a Katana Colonel.

"This meeting will be brief. We are here only to make sure everything is up to speed and to update you on the most recent updates. Wedge, would you like to begin?"

Wedge nodded and leaned forward. "By tomorrow the Lusankya should be joining us, as will some delegates from the New Republic. Apparently the Senate feels it is time to try to convince this government to join the New Republic's ranks before those Imperials floating around out there can. And speaking of which, Commander Anernin, I believe you have an update for us on the Imperials."

Phoenix stood. "Yes, sir. The Imperial fleet floating out past the last planet's orbit has been identified as an exploration fleet. This fleet has been out of contact for nearly four years, and we are now trying to get a hold of Admiral Gilad Pallaeon of the Imperial Remnant and let him know that we found some of their missing ships.

"As for Imperial activity on earth, we can't find any. We know they are out there, but they are somehow wiping their tracks clean, making it impossible for us to follow them. Some speculation has been taken that some natives may be helping them."

Relena winced at that bit of information. She knew it was possible, but that didn't mean she wanted it to happen.

Phoenix sat down and the attention of the group shifted back up the table. Relena took that as her cue.

"Starfighter production has reached its goal of 900 fighters compossed of X, A, B, and E wings. Our capital ships are nearly complete, and we expect them to be battle ready within the month. All in all, we are keeping on schdule."

Noin cleared her throat. "What about the Gundams? Are they being rebuilt?"

"No." Relena winced at the sharpness in her voice. "The Gundams are a thing of the past, and great lengths have gone to erase all blueprints, skematics, and plans of the Gundams."

Noin nodded, raising her eyebrows, but was silent.

Chairs scrapped against the floor as the officers stood and collected their things. Conversation was minimal, and what conversation there was heard was cut off from Relena, Wedge, and Midii as the large double, steel doors slid shut with a hiss.

"When will the truth come out?"

Midii sighed and stood to stretch taut muscles. "I don't know, Relena. I hate this deceiving as much as you do. I only wish that this hadn't happened to you and your people. The Earth Sphere should not have to face the perils of the rest of the galaxy. How your solar system was not discovered until now, though, is beyond me."

"You know, you are right about one thing."

Midii's eyebrows rose while Wedge laughed.

"Only one thing?"

Relena smiled weakly. "If our people where to learn of the vast technologies of the galaxy it would set us on a whole new course to a future we never even dreamed of. I wonder how our weak technology could be of any service to the New Republic."

Midii smiled and left the room, leaving Wedge and Relena to change the topic.

"Any word from Admiral Ackbar?"

Wedge shook his head, causing a few brown locks to fall against his forehead. "No, but he is rather busy at the moment with his up coming retirement. Borsk Fey'lya and he never did get along, and with Fey'lya becoming the new leader of the New Republic, Ackbar feels that it is best to leave."

"It is too sad. I really like Ackbar."

Wedge smiled and took a seat closer to Relena. "You know what is really interesting? I remember when I was just a cockpit jockey and Luke ordered me out of the fight. We were at the first Death Star, and he told me that I was no good having taken a few direct hits. I ended up being one of the very few who lived through the first Death Star.

"And then I lived through the second Death Star. Lando and I fired the killing shots at the Death Star's main reactor core, and all of a sudden, the Alliance becomes the New Republic. We were no longer a band of rebels but a legitimate government.

"And then I lived through more than I could have ever dreamed possible. I lived through Thrawn, Isard, Zsinji, and a couple of others that I would rather forget. It was then that we all believed peace had really come to the New Republic. I even got married to Iella.

"Then everything changed. We faced some of our most ruthless enemies. The galaxy was quickly expanding, and we weren't sure if we were going to make it. But the New Republic did." Wedge sighed and shook his head. "I sometimes feel like an old man."

"How old are you?"

"Thirty-seven."

"That is old."

Wedge smiled. "Funny. How old are you?"

"Twenty-nine. Pretty old, huh?"

"Yeah, you sure are getting up there." Wedge and Relena shared a good laugh before Wedge continued, "But that's just the thing. When I was that age, I still felt like an old geezer. Sure, I was the ace pilot in all of the New Republic, but I still took a lot of grief about my age."

"Things are different in starfighter than fleet, Wedge. When I go, I am going to be facing the exact opposite. I'll be too young to take command."

"I think you are wrong there, Relena. The memory of our most recent war will be enough to sway them over. You will have nothing to worry about."

"Thanks for the encouragement. I have to get going. I am meeting with the top Katana officers."

"Good luck."

Relena stood and straightened her uniform. "I've known you for six years, Wedge, and I feel a whole lot closer to you and the other New Republic officers than I do to my own people. Is that a bad thing?"

"When you think of all that is about to occur, I would have to say no. It just might be a good thing."

***************

General Relena Peacecraft sat and watched the others pile into the room. Katanas' other generals Heero, Trowa, and Milliardo sat closest to her at the head of the table. Hilde, Noin, and Midii, all of them colonels, sat father down.

Relena was careful to study their movements and actions. Midii acted as if she hadn't a care in the world, but that was to be expected. Trowa, Hilde, and Noin were quite, yet they seemed ready to listen. Milliardo was obviously reserved about the whole situation. Time would have to be plentiful before he fully accepted her decision. Heero's look was a complete mystery.

What are they thinking?

"Thank you all for coming. I know my position must be a shock to you all, but it had to be done. You probably don't believe that I can do it, but I have nothing to prove to you. Time will reveal the truth." Relena inwardly cringed. Way to go Peacecraft. You are too nervous and so you are making demands. Calm down and focus.

Midii looked up to Relena. "General Peacecraft?" Both Peacecrafts looked to her then at each other.

The elder Peacecraft smiled. "Please, we are all friends. No decor, okay?"

Midii smiled, "Relena, then. Listen, I've been with you the longest since this all started, and I know beyond a doubt that you can pull this off."

Relena inclined her head to Midii.

Years ago, Midii had applied for a job with Relena's office. Relena had done a background check of the woman and found that Midii would be quite capable. For a time, though, Midii was skittish around people, and Relena's heart went out the woman. It took some doing, but Relena eventually won the woman's trust and earned her friendship.

Midii had been with Relena upon Relena's first meeting with some New Republic officials. Since then, the two had stuck together, remaining on the ground floor of the entire operation, even going as far as to do things the others were unaware of.

Trowa looked at the woman sitting next to him. It had been a surprise to find out that she was the girl from his childhood, the one that had betrayed him. It had taken a few years for forgiveness to claim his heart towards her, and the two had become close. "If Midii believes in you, that is reason enough for me."

"As Midii says, you can pull this off. I am with you as well."

"Thank you, Noin."

"Same here." Hilde smiled at her commanding officer.

"I still question your judgment in joining, but you can do it. I am with you as well." Relena gave a big smile to her brother. All eyes turned to Heero. "Well, how about it, Heero. Are you with us?"

Heero glared at Zechs for pressuring him for an answer. He didn't like what was going on. The peace that he had sacrificed all for was in jeopardy with their world becoming a whole lot larger, but if he wasn't in with the Katanas, his chance to keep the peace was severely limited.

"Accepted."

Relena inwardly sighed and got down to business. "Great. Katana Division was originally designed to protect this solar system when the New Republic leaves. Our resources and man power are above what was projected, but that is not our main focus at the moment."

Relena inhaled and let her breath out slowly, hesitantly. "The New Republic and I have decided it would be to hard for the citizens to comprehend the situation. Cinq kingdom's leading scientists have come up with machines that will be placed beyond Pluto's orbit. The devices called AIDS, Anti-Intruder Defense System, will be able to block any non-Republic ships without the right code from coming into our system without detection. They will be placed while the attack on the Imperial Fleet occurs. Our job, for now, is to train under the New Republic and become the best."

Noin looked up from some papers. "What will happen when the New Republic leaves?"

"That is where the Cinq Kingdom steps in. We will just happen to suddenly come up with a few new gadgets that will quickly speed us up with the rest of the universe. We will then introduce the idea of other life in the galaxy. Without warning, facts to prove those theories will arise. Then a whole new future will be opened to them."

Heero looked over and eyed Relena warily, "It seems a little risky to me."

"Well, Heero, what do you recommend we do?" Relena questioned as she leaned back.

"Wouldn't it be a better idea to just introduce the system to the galaxy now and get it over with? People are smart."

"A person is smart, but people are dumb, panicky, and dangerous. It would create a public hysteria. They don't want to think about the fact that they aren't the only people in the universe. They are happy in there own little world."

The others nodded in agreement.

"Relena? How many years are we looking at here?"

"Good question, Midii. We are looking at the possibility of ten years, minimum." Relena sighed. There was much she wanted to talk to them about, but they were not being very cooperative at the moment. "Look, it is late. Let's get some sleep. There is a general meeting tomorrow after lunch. Let's meet at 0900 hours and get ourselves organized. Agreed?" Everyone agreed.

"Good, you are dismissed."

The others stood, unsure whether to salute Relena or not.

And that fact was not lost on Relena. She rose from her chair and laid it on the line in simple terms. "If you don't respect me, then don't salute. I won't take offence."

The others, with the exception of her brother and Heero, rose their hands to their brows in salute.

Relena returned the salute and watched the entire group walk out. She felt annoyed with herself for feeling pain over her brother and Heero's rejection, but she had opened the door for it, knowing fully well what she was doing.

A shadow neared, and Relena looked up to see that not all had left. "Do you have something more to say, Heero?"

"Where do you get off thinking that you can lead this whole division? Or are you just being disillusioned by the New Republic so that they will have a symbol for everyone to rally behind?"

"I am sorry you feel that way, Heero, but as I said earlier, I have nothing to prove. You will see in time that I can handle it."

Heero turned and left the room, shutting the door behind him with a resounding click. 'I know you can do it, Relena. I just don't want you to.'

Back inside the room, Relena was picking up her stuff when there was a rap on the door.

Wedge entered. "I just saw everyone leave. How did it go?"

"About as well as expected."

Wedge smiled and took Milliardo's seat, indicating for Relena to sit as well. "I take it some of them still don't see you as fit for this position?"

"No, and I didn't help it either," Relena stated as she collapsed into the chair. "I was forceful, telling them that if they had a problem with my command, then deal with it."

"You told them that?"

"Basically. I didn't mean to, but, oh, I don't know." Relena rubbed her eyes, trying to get the grainy feeling out. "I sometimes hope that they will end up hating me now, so that when I leave, it will be easier."

"You may feel like doing that, but it is not a good idea. You are going to have to be who you are." Wedge smiled. "Face it, you were never cut out for intelligence work due to your poor acting."

"That's just it!" Relena howled in frustration, startling Wedge. "I entered politics thinking that my innocent ideals would win the people over. They did, but then things began to change. New politicians were entering the scene, and I had no choice but to grow a tough skin. My way of doing things began to change and for a time I wondered if I was corrupted by the political system.

"Guilt began to settle in, and I turned to drinking to see if it would really drown my sorrows." Relena smiled ruefully. "I found out the hard way that it only gave nasty hangovers."

She got up out of her chair and began to pace the room. "Public opinion of me began to drop, and I was faced with the facts: lose my position and leave the only world I had ever known, or change my political style. I chose the latter one. My political style changed drastically in a matter of months, and I changed because of it. I forced myself to find ways to lose my innocence. I forced myself to change." Relena stopped and stared at Wedge. "I changed."

"Change can be a good thing, Relena. If you were still the person you were ten years ago, would you be where you are today?"

Bitterness sealed itself over her heart as she answered. "No, I would be trying to take control of everything while being idealistic and naïve. People would be talking behind my back because I would be missing the hard facts of what is really going on."

"You sound like a person who is not happy with the life they have made here. Do you wish to get away and start all over again?"

"I wish to get away, taking the knowledge I have with me, and expanding my horizons."

Wedge smiled, "Then isn't it a good thing that your wish will be answered?"

Her voice was barely above a whisper. "I hope so."
