Hilde whimpered and huddled closer to
Duo.
"Is she gonna die?!" She whispered. Duo gulped and wrapped his arms
around
her.
"I-I dunno. . ."
They were all sprawled out in the sofa
room watching the Exorcist and all
three Scream movies. The room was pitch
black except for the ominous glow of
the (DUH DUH DUUUH) television and each
couple had a blanket.
It had started out as, everyone had a blanket but some
got laid down on the
floor to lay on so they didn't spill popcorn and green
tea everywhere (what a
combination) Dorothy and Quatre were clinging to each
other on the sofa,
Trowa was sitting and leaning against the sofa arm and
Midii had crawled into
his lap and huddled in his arms. Hilde had also
crawled into Duo's arms on
the beanbag chair. Heero was leaning against the
armchair which Mulan and
Miaki were sharing. Matty was sitting on a blanket
by the popcorn and Leun
was sitting a little ways from Matty. Wufei was
sitting by the door
daydreaming about something (or someone).
Heero
hadn't looked for Relena until she came crawling over.
"H-Heero?," she
whimpered, shivering. He looked up.
"Hn?" His cold eyes stared into her own
but softened a little when he saw how
cold she was.
"I-I'm getting
scared."
After debating with his human self and his soldier self, Heero
wrapped his
arms and the blanket around her, awkwardly holding her. It was
only when she
leaned her head on his shoulder he looked down at her in
surprise.
"Relena, your forehead feels really warm" he whispered, placing a
cool hand
on her forehead. He sighed again.
"You have a fever."
"Nani?" She mumbled weakly, staring up at him with glazed-over eyes. He
picked her up and carried her out of the sofa room, stepping over a now
making-out Duo and Hilde and a sprawled out, eyes-wide Matty. He carried her
down the hall and placed her on her futon, walking over to her dresser. He
pulled out grey sweatpants and a white cotton t-shirt which fit loose around
her.
"Put these on."
Relena nodded again as Heero walked out of her
room, sliding the door closed
behind him. He walked into the kitchen,
getting her a glass of water and then
returning to the doorframe. He was
about to leave the water by the door when
he heard her weak voice.
"Heero. . .?"
He slowly opened the door to see her huddled over the
plastic trash can she
had in her room, one hand gripping the rim with white
knuckles and the other
trying to keep her bra-clad chest covered with the
shirt that she tried to
put on before the nausea hit.
Heero immediatly
felt his cheeks redded slightly and he slowly walked over to
her, setting
the glass down on the nightstand and kneeling beside her.
Careful not to
look *there* he gently guided her hands under the shirt and
helped her pull
it over her head. He reached over and got the glass from the
nightstand.
"Feeling a little better?" He said quietly, handing her the glass.
She
nodded and took a gulp of water, sloshing it around in her mouth before
spitting it into the trash can. She put the glass to her lips and took a
small sip before she set the glass down. Heero put it back on the nightstand
and helped her up, walking her over to her futon and laying her down,
covering her with the blanket.
"Oyasumi nasai." He whispered, standing
up. He had taken ony three steps when
he heard her voice.
"Heero?"
"Hn?" He turned around slightly, looking at her form on the bed.
"A-arigatou. . ."
He only nodded slightly.
"Sleep. Things will be
better when you wake up."
She nodded as he slowly walked out of her room,
closing the door behind him.
It was only a few seconds before darkness fell
around her.
"'Kaachan!!!!"
She blinked again, truding around the
field in her white and blue sundress.
Small feet made tiny imprints in the
grass, walking at different paces and
sometimes stoping so she could look
back and see how far apart her footprints
were.
"'Kaachan!"
It
finally occured to Relena that the girl was calling to her, she wasn't the
girl herself. She smiled and outstretched her arms. She didn't know the
child
yet she looked so familiar. She ran into her arms, her long chocolate
brown
hair flying out behind her as wide, prussian blue eyes glittered up at
her.
"Home? We go home?" The small girl asked in Japanese.
What? What
is she saying, I don't speak-
"Soon, little one." She heard herself
answer in Japanese.
She giggled and hugged her.
"Boku ai wa, 'kaachan!!"
She wrapped her arms around her, and only then did she notice the blood
soaking through the back of the girl's sundress.
Blood? She's dead?
Where did that come from, what's wrong with her?!
She slowly pulled one
hand off of her back, watching the warm red fluid slide
off her hands.
What's going on, someone please get me out of here!
She looked
down at her face, at the look of surprise and half terror forever
frozen in the now-shineless eyes, the quickly-paling face.
"And I love
you. . ."
Stop this, I want to go home!
"Miaki. . ."
The scream that echoed through the Mizurei Temple would not have
given Heero
chills on a regular occasion, but what had bothered him about
this particular
scream was that it sounded like. . .
"Relena?!"
In a
flash he was out of the living room and running down the hall. Duo
blinked
before standing along with everyone else.
"I've never seen him go that fast.
. ."
The rest followed Heero into Relena's room, hearing him pull back the
door.
"Relena? Daijo-" He stopped short at what he saw. She was sitting up
in bed,
her hair a mess and her bangs falling over her hands. Her hands were
covering
her eyes and tears were leaking out from behind them. Her body
wracked with
spasm-like sobs except there was no sound.
"K-korosu wa-"
Heero walked over to her side and rubbed her back, trying to get her to calm
down.
"Daijobu? Doshita no?"
"I k-killed her. . ." Relena's voice
was muffled underneath her hands.
Heero's eyes widened a bit at that but he
kept the soothing tone to his voice.
"It's alright, everything's fine now."
"Iie! K-korosu wa. . ." Another spasm interrupted her and she couldn't
finish
the sentance. Heero asked another question that he wasn't sure he
could take
the answer.
"Dare wa?"
Relena paused another moment
before answering.
"M-Miaki. . ."
