Outerspace

It's lonely here in outerspace

The nearest stars are miles away

But I believe I'm on to something big

"Ouch! Damnit, Heero!" Duo yelled at Heero's back. The words just bouncing off the pilots thick flesh, just as Duo's fists would if he hit him. Duo heard the tears coming from the balcony Heero had just left, "Where the hell do you think you're going?" he called after him.

"Outerspace." was Heero's only reply.

"Outerspace? You just broke her heart in there!" Duo shouted back, in response, Heero just shrugged.

I've only come to not be found

To circle high above the ground

And watch everyone else for a change

"Miss Relena, are you ok?" the pretty young student asked her, Relena looked up from her tears and looked at the young girl, Desi her name was.

"I'll be fine, Desi. I just...I just need some time, that's all." Relena choked out between sobs, "I'll be just fine."

"Do you want to talk about it?" Desi responded, Relena didn't know her well enough to really take her up on the offer, but she just had to tell somebody, as Desi sat down, Relena buried her face in the other girls shoulder and started sobbing, "It's just not fair...it's not. Why does he have to leave again?"

Heero started to walk away again, but Duo wouldn't take it. Not this time, Heero. Duo thought as he spun his friend around and punched him in the jaw. Anyone else might have been sent flying by the hit, Heero was barely stunned. But it didn't take him long to lash back out at his friend. The two men were beating the living hell out of eachother. For Duo, it was a chance to beat out some of the anger and hurt that his friend had left him with, his vengeance for all the, I'm sorry Relena's... He beat them all out of Heero, he beat him until he felt that his emotional stress had been avenged, even though Heero still beat him bloody with his own issues. But even then as Heero walked away from him, Duo knew that he couldn't let Heero leave this time...

"Why does he have to leave, Desi? Why? What did I ever do to deserve this again?" Relena sobbed out, releasing her pain and her heartache into the other girl. "Shhhhh...it'll be ok Miss Relena...he just needs space, I'm sure that's all." Desi crooned into her ear,

"But why? Why can't he just stay? Why? Why can't he just be happy here?" Relena continued sobbing,

"Maybe he's just not built that way, Miss Relena. Maybe he fights out of love for you?" Desi said gently, "but at least he said goodbye this time." she added,

"But I'm just so lonely without him, like I'm not complete."

"Not this time, Heero." Duo whispered to himself before jumping up and tackling his friend to the ground. The two men scuffled for a few more minutes, Duo landing a few well placed blows to his friend, and vice versa. A few years ago, when they were 15, Duo would have been no match for Heero. But this time was different, he'd grown up, and without the stresses of war, Heero had grown a little less powerful. They both ended up sprawled out on the floor of the hallway. "You coward." Duo threw at his friend,

"What are you talking about?" Heero asked, his eyes narrowing into his typical death glare.

"You're leaving...because you're scared." Duo replied. "I know you are, don't bother lying to me. I've known you since we were young."

"I'm not scared." Heero stated.

"I think you are." Duo shot back, "I think you're terrified."

Heero didn't reply.

"Be strong, Miss Relena." Desi said gently, "It won't do anyone any good to see you so hurt, and it might get him killed."

"I suppose you're right." Relena responded, dabbing her eyes lightly, getting rid of the last few traces of tears that haunted them. "I'll be strong, just to show him that he can't destroy me."

"That's the spirit." Desi replied, "you're to good for him, really."

"What do you mean?" Relena asked, intrigued.

"Well, you're beautiful, you're a pacifist, you're the Vice Foreign Minister, you're the former queen of the world, you're perfect. He's just a Gundam pilot. It would be political suicide for you to have anything to do with him." Desi said sweetly, stating the facts.

"No, you can't be right. He's...everything." Relena said, standing up and walking towards the door.

I've arrived I'm doing well

Heero and Duo stood up, glaring at eachother, "Heero, I..." Duo began...

Quite a view from the top

Relena and Desi walked out into the hallway, their eyes met the bloodied pair in front of them.

Though it is cold as hell

The gasps of the two girls quickly caught the attention of both Heero and Duo, who simultaneously turned to look at them.

I've arrived

Relena's eyes met Heero's and they locked eyes for just a moment, but it seemed like an eternity,

And it's hard to tell

"Hello, Heero." Relena said, her voice carrying a power and authority that betrayed her heartache.

The bright lights from the starlights

"Relena, I..." Heero began, looking around at Desi and Duo before continuing, "I'm..."

And the canyons from the hills

"Yes, Heero?" Relena pressed, before Heero turned finally finished his sentance...
