Falling Apart; Chapter Seven

"Kei you bastard," Heero muttered under his breath. Heero crouched on the branch watching them kiss on the bench. Heero sat there not amused of what Kei was doing. The branch creaked under his weight. The girl broke off the kiss.

"Someone’s here," she growled looking straight at the tree where Heero was. She took out her pistol aiming at the branch. Heero never heard the gun. He fell 10 feet down with a thump, she had a silencer on her gun.

"Yui watch out it’s Heero Yuy!" Kei hollered at Yui who was standing above Heero. She didn’t look as if she heard Kei. Heero winced as she jabbed the pistol at his forehead.

"It’ nice to see you again Odin. How long has it been?" Yui cooed looking at Heero in amusement.

"Too long," Heero affirmed looking away. Yui lifted up the pistol putting it back into her pocket. Heero rolled off his back and stood up.

Yui grinned, "Now you’re toying with a girl’s feeling ne? Heh, I knew you couldn’t admit your feelings openly. After all I was your partner wasn’t I?" Heero flinched at the mention of their partnership.

"You should have left Dr. J, Odin. You know I can still beat you...heh. Wanna play?" Yui teased, smirking.

"You’re not human," Heero stated, "Dr. J told me what you are." Yui’s grin became wider as they took their fighting stance.

"Exactly. Unlike you Heero, I can’t die, heh," Yui agreed glancing at Kei who grinned disappearing into the night. With that done, Heero charged at Yui who easily dodged his punch. Heero threw many speeding punches with pure accuracy, only to be blocked by Yui who was enjoying herself.

"My turn," Yui chirped and landed an uppercut along with a side kick. Heero landed on the ground again with blood leaking from his mouth, he wiped it right away.

"It looks like you’ve gotten slower, Heero," Yui acknowledged as she landed a punch into his face. All Heero could see was black, he probably blackout by now like he always did when they were little. Yui was always the stronger one, accurate, and clever. Heero was just the amateur of her. Heero remembered when they were only ten and practiced. A young Heero pouted after practicing as a young Yui walked over to him.

"No one’s perfect Heero. You just have to do your best and always do what your heart tells you. Never get too absorbed with fighting, remember what you’re fighting for," Yui comforted looking into his eyes. She smiled at him. It was a rare smile, one that only they shared. Yui was always there for him whether to decide or to improve something. Heero was crushed when she abandoned Dr. J and him to find a ‘better life’. He had noticed that the Yui he’d known was acting weird during her last days. She was more quiet and grave. She never said goodbye. After she’d gone Heero had forgotten what she advised and taught him, until Relena came.

"Heh…weakling," Yui muttered as she hoisted the unconscious Heero onto her shoulders. Stupid kid, if only he’d listen to his heart in the first place. Yui placed Heero onto her couch as she sat there watching his sleeping form.

"To think you thought of me as your sister…I guess I failed as one and became your enemy," Yui addressed. She wasn’t human like Heero…she was a fake like Kei is. When the thought of it dawned her, she could not think of anything else except Kei. Why was she so obsessed with him? Whenever she disobeyed Kei’s wishes she always had an painstaking ache in her head.

"You’re not the idiot. I am," Yui admitted to no one. Her platinum hair brushed her pale face as she looked at the ground.

"I’m just a robot with an imitation body," she murmured as tears stained her eyes. Dr. J made her well, everything of her was real, after all she did have a real heart beating inside of her right? Her only flaw was adult emotions, she wasn’t made to be immune to them. Kei was also made just like her…but by whom? He never answered that question. The only reason she left was because of him. She didn’t know a thing about him, except that he hated pacifism. He always said that ‘things’ like us are useless in peace and that we really aren’t talented. We were made to fight wars whereas weaklings couldn’t. Yui sighed. She wondered if she really did love Kei or not. She didn’t understand it. Kei never spoke of his ‘master’. Everything was so simple back then, now it’s become more complex.

"Kei what are you up to?" Yui asked sipping her coffee.

The winds howled as Relena sat by her window wondering about the mysterious ‘Heero’ where almost everyone told her to stay away from. Relena sighed. A thunder cracked nearby as she jumped at the sound of the ringing of the doorbell.

"Who could this be at a time like this?" Relena questioned as she opened the door aghast, it was Kei. He looked unusual, he looked dead unlike those other times when he was always active and upbeat. His brown hair was a mess and his eyes weren’t light, but a darkness seemed to lure around it. Relena shivered at the slight breeze. His clothes were dripping water from the rain.

"Kei? What brings you here?" Relena asked politely closing the door after him. His head was low and he looked away.

"Why, I came here to be with you Relena," Kei chided as he turned around and smiled. Relena a mentle note that he must have had a bad mood swing today. Relena giggled.

"Seems like you’ve been walking in the rain for hours, here let me get you some dry clothes," Relena offered.

Kei hugged her, "Thank you, cutie!" Relena struggled in his arms trying to breathe.

"Oh stop it, you’re getting me wet too!" Relena whimpered. Kei chuckled and let go of her.

Heero groaned as he turned himself around to see Yui sound alseep on the chair. She looked like an innocent child sleeping like that. He wondered what did happen to his little Yui. Yui whimpered as she turned around, something flashed. Heero stealthily got up and looked at her neck. There was a chip there. Strange, he looked at it again, it was a controller…

"Yui," Heero murmured looking at her sternly as he plucked the chip off of her neck, a tear slid from her. He angrily crushed it in his fingers, so small yet so destructive. Heero was about to stomp out to kill Kei, but Yui grabbed him.

"It isn’t his fault. Not everything is what it seems…Heero," Yui claimed letting go of his hand, standing up. Heero growled.

"If it isn’t than why did you have that controller chip on your neck.?!" Heero exclaimed punching wall.

"He’s not the only one," Yui said, "It’s on his neck too." Heero looked at her again and cursed.

"So who IS the controller?!" Heero yelled losing his patience. Yui shrugged her shoulders and touched the place where the chip was. Yui knew exactly that Kei wasn’t out to kill Relena or he would’ve done it earlier. But what was he set out to do?
