Dead while Living
Chapter 9
Heero had been more social with Relena, since what happened. He wouldn’t let her touch him though. Relena guessed he was scared if a girl touched him, she would hurt him, because unfortunately that is what happened. Relena understood he didn’t want to be touched and went by the rules. She walked to Heero’s room and knocked on the door. Heero opened the door and she walked in.
"Heero, I have bad news." Relena said looking down.
"What?" He asked calmly.
"There is another ball tonight for the New Year. Would you like to come?" She said looking him the eye. He shrugged and Relena smiled.
"You could be my date." She said and smiled even larger. He nodded and looked her. He didn’t smile; he just looked at her. She closed her eyes and smiled even wider, then ran out of his room. She spinned down the hallway to her room and then ran in her room. She jumped on her bed and grabbed the teddy bear Heero gave her. She planted small kisses all over the bear and a long kiss on the lips. She giggled and opened her eyes.
"I love you." She whispered to herself,
"I love you my Heero." Then she closed her eyes, causing her to fall into a light sleep. When she woke up, it looked kind of dark. She looked at her dresser where her clock was. It was 7:00 and the ball was at 8:00. She jumped out of her bed to get ready.
Heero was already dressed. He decided to just wear suit pants and a white shirt, with a tie. He didn’t feel like wearing a jacket. He had on dark blue suit pants, so he took out a dark blue tie. (A long tie. It made him look so handsome.) He had on black shoes that were shiny and he walked out of his room. He was looking for Relena’s room, because he wanted to tell her that it was 7:30. He saw her run out of her room and looked her shocked. She fell when she saw him and struggled to get up, but the dress was so big. She wore a dark blue dress to match Heero’s suit. Heero walked over to her and put his hand out. She looked at his hand dumbfounded then came to her senses and gently held his hand. She remembered before when they held hands to see Heero’s father, Odin, but she shook her head at the thought.
"Thank you, Heero." Relena said and smiled. She was blushing, because he knew she was clumsy. He turned to look at her lightly and nodded. Relena was happy, because they were getting along. It had been only 2 days from what happened, but there was a little progress. She knew what to do around him and what not to do. They were in the car and then they finally made it. Heero got out first and Relena got out second. Relena had gloves on and her hair was up in a tight bun, with 2 pieces of hair in front. They went inside and everyone was dancing to slow music.
"Heero, do you want to dance?"
"Okay." He said calmly and Relena smiled. They danced and Relena was happy, she loved to dance with him. The song ended and they went to get a drink. Some old delegate came up to her and asked her to dance, she excepted and turned to Heero.
"I’ll be back, Heero. Don’t leave okay." She said nicely. Heero nodded and sat down. Someone taped him and he turned around.
"What are you doing here?" He asked coldly. The girl smiled mischievously.
"I told you I would come back for you, let’s dance." Melody said.
"I don’t want dance with you. Why can’t you just leave me alone?" Heero said coldly.
"Dance or I’ll kill all of these people." Melody whispered. She took a needle and stuck it in Heero’s arm. Heero winced in pain and grabbed his arm. She smirked and pulled him out to the dance floor. She was wearing a velvet black dress, with black dress shoes that had laces on it, and her white hair was down. She was beautiful like Relena, but not beautiful inside. Her eyes were always mischievous and sad. Heero hated her; she always did the bad stuff to him. They were dancing and she had her arms around his neck. Her head was lying on his chest. He held her waist, trying to get her to get off of him. He was weak, because she injected him with drugs. Relena had stopped dancing with the delegate and looked around for Heero. Melody saw Relena look around and put her head up to whisper in Heero’s ear.
"I need to go baby." She smirked and kissed his cheek. Then ran off, out the door. Heero wiped his cheek where she had kissed and walked to Relena.
"Hi, Heero. Where were you?" Relena asked sweetly.
"Nowhere." Heero said coldly.
"Oh, you want to go outside?" Relena asked as the smile faded from her face.
"Okay." Heero said and looked at her. They walked outside and Relena sat on the ground. Heero sat on the bench right in back of her. It was still snowing and Relena put her head down. ‘Heero why won’t you open up to me?’ Relena thought.
"Heero, what are you thinking about?" Relena asked quietly.
"Nothing important." Heero said in his monotone voice.
"Oh. I love the snow, it so beautiful." Relena replied quietly.
"I hate snow." Heero said quietly and looked at his hands. Relena sighed and stood up. She turned around and faced Heero. She sat down on her knees and smiled at him.
"What’s wrong?" Relena asked quietly.
"Nothing." Heero said still looking at his hands. Relena put her hand on his cheek and Heero looked up.
"Heero, I can’t help you if you won’t let me. You need to talk to me." Relena said quietly. Heero looked into Relena’s eyes. ‘He looks so innocent, when he is not giving people a death glare.’ Relena thought and smiled. ‘She’s so beautiful.’ Heero thought. Relena moved her hand from his cheek and kissed him lightly on the lips. It was short and sweet. He didn’t kiss back; he just looked at her. She put her arms around him and hugged him. She looked back in his eyes and whispered,
"You want to go now?" She asked and Heero nodded. He stood up and she did too. They walked side by side and Relena looked down upset. ‘I shouldn’t have kissed him, I should’ve known he wouldn’t kiss back. He probably doesn’t love me. Maybe I should give up and stop trying. If he doesn’t want to live, then I shouldn’t make him.’ She was lost in her thoughts and didn’t even notice she was in a car going home. She was cold and confused.

A/N: I'm getting my chapters out fast. Well I hope you are enjoying this. One person reviewed me and said that the Relena had bad fashion sense. Obviously that person isn't paying attention to the story, because it doesn't matter what she was wearing. So if that is all you care about in the story, don't read it. You know who you are person, I just don't remember. Aha. Well review. I'll get the next chapter out soon.
