Beautiful Dreams and Nightmares

**Chapter 2**

Relena ran through the dark forest. It was raining hard and too dark to see. The trees were being blown furiously and the branches getting ready to crack in two. She kept on running, not knowing where to go. Her feet hitting the mud to make a splashing sound. Her eyes were blank and as she ran ahead.

"Relena." She heard a voice say, that sounded like Heero. She ran slower looking around blankly. She had on jeans, a shirt and a jacket.

"Heero." She whispered. Tears came down her face as her eyes darted around. The whispering came again. Little voices whispering to her. Scaring her. Telling her things she didn’t want to hear.

"He doesn’t want you. He wants you to be alone, leave him alone." The voices whispered. Tears formed in her eyes and as she held her head. She fell to the floor, making her clothes get dirty in the mud.

"No, No, No." She whispered franticly to herself and held her ears, so she wouldn’t have to hear the vicious whispers. She shook fearcely while she sobbed. No one to hold her or help her. In a forest with no way out.

"Stay away from me, Relena. Please." She heard Heero’s voice say. She sobbed uncontrollably, trying to stand to her feet. She controlled her sobbing and stopped shaking. Then she finally got up; she closed her eyes and started to run again. Voices still whispered to her and she closed her eyes tightly trying to not listen. The pain felt like daggers going through her body.

"Dove of Peace, Dove of Peace. Please help us." The voices whispered harshly. "Please. Don’t run away, help us." Relena stopped and opened her eyes again. Her eyes were completely blank like before.

"Help you." Relena whispered.

"Yes, help us. Help us find our peace." The voices whispered. They sounded like children, angels, lost souls.

"But I can’t." She whispered.

"Yes, you can. Dove of peace. Your beautiful soul can only help us, you can only help us." They said. "Your heart is of pure crystal and unbreakable when touched. But in order to help us, you must stay away from the boy, the soldier, the perfect soldier, Heero Yuy. He will break your heart, he will kill you. Stay away from him, please. He will kill us."

"Heero, will kill you, he will kill me. No, this isn’t true. He wouldn’t." Relena said, holding her head.

"Please help us or we will die and Heero will kill you." The voices said.

"No, I don’t want you to die." She said.

"For peace. If you stay away from Heero you will be our Dove of peace again and everyone will be safe. Everyone will live in peace and there would be no more destruction." The voices whispered fading.

"I will. I will protect you." Relena whispered. The wind blew and the sun shone brightly. "For peace." Tears fell down her cheeks and she wiped them gently.

"No more tears. We will protect your crystal heart." The wind whispered and gently kissed her hair gently.

"No more tears." Relena whispered and closed her eyes. She smiled gently.

Relena opened her eyes slowly. She was laid in her bed. The sun shone from her balcony and she smiled. It was a beautiful day and she was feeling good. She sat up and walked over to the closed balcony doors. It was still windy and the wind hit the balcony doors as if someone was knocking on them. As if, someone was asking to be, let in. She put her hands against the glass doors and smiled. A warm feeling went through her body and she pushed the door open gently. The wind came thrusting in and her hair flew back gently.

"I will help you." She whispered. "I will let you in." Then she turned around and got ready for work.

When Heero got home the night before and had a dreamless night. He woke up, took a shower and got dressed. He walked outside of his apartment building and walked to the park. He had no work today, because Sally said he'd been working too much and gave him some time off. He sat on a bench and leaned his back against it. Little kids played together, having fun, which he never had when he was little. Never able to treasure moments about when he was little. He closed his eyes and put those thoughts aside. He put his head back to feel the gentle breeze blow against him.

"Hey, mister." A little girl said. He shot his eyes open, remembering the girl he met a long time ago. He looked down at the little girl's face and smiled. She had on a cute blue sundress and her light blonde hair was draped on her shoulders. She smiled and her light blue eyes shone, with love and happiness. She had on little blue shoes. (Like Sakura from Cardcaptors. The ones she wears at school and they are black.)

"What are you doing here alone?" The little girl asked.

"I like to be alone." Heero whispered. The little girl pulled herself up on the bench and sat down next to him. She sat on the edge to swing her legs back and forth. She smiled again.

"No you don't. You are lying, no one likes to be alone." She said in a happy tone.

"I'm used to it." He said in his monotone voice.

"Oh, well you're not alone now. I'm here with you." She said and giggled. He nodded and looked ahead of him blankly.

"I love you." She whispered and Heero looked at her from a side-glance.

"How you don't know me?" Heero whispered. She nodded.

"I love all people and all things. It doesn't matter that I don't know them, I just love them all. But mister I love you extra special, because you are very nice." She whispered. He sat there trying to let it all sink in. She stood up on the bench and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek.

"I gotta go. My mama and papa are waiting for me to come back on the other side of the park." She whispered and jumped off the bench. She turned around when she landed and waved at him. He stared at her blankly and mouthed, 'bye.' She smiled even wider and skipped off to the other side of the park. Heero watched her until she left and then touched his check gently. 'Kissed by an angel.' He thought. He got up and walked back to his apartment.

Relena had a meeting to go to and when that was done, she had tons of paperwork. She sighed and sat in her desk. The door knocked and then opened. Relena looked up and smiled, when she saw who walked in.

"Hello, Milliardo." She said and stood up.

"Hello, Relena." Milliardo said and walked over to her. They hugged.

"What did you come here for? I thought you were working on Mars with Noin." Relena whispered.

"I was, but I wanted to come and see you." Milliardo said.

"Well I have lots of paperwork to do." Relena said releasing Milliardo of the hug.

"I'll do your paperwork for you, you should get some rest." Milliardo said.

"You will. Thank you, so much." Relena said and kissed him on the cheek.

"Okay, go and do something fun. While I do this boring paperwork." Milliardo said and smiled. Relena smiled even wider and nodded.

"Bye." She said. She took her jacket and walked out the door. She decided to walk again. She was still confused about her dream, because she didn't want to stay away from Heero. She looked again to see if Heero on the stoop of the apartment building again, but he wasn't. She walked up to the building and breathed in, then out. She walked up the stairs and into the building. There were kids playing in the hallway, with one teenager watching them.

"Hello." Relena said to the teenager.

"What's up." The girl said.

"Do you know what room, a boy with brown short hair lives? He is a little bit taller than me and he's cute." Relena asked. The teen smiled.

"Yeah, I know where that cute boy lives. Why are you his girlfriend? If you are you are really lucky." She said. She was chewing on some gum and smiled.

"No. I'm a friend." She said and smiled. The girl shrugged.

"Can't win them all. He lives on the next floor, room 18 on the right side." The girl said. Relena nodded and said,

"Thank you." The girl nodded and Relena walked to the stairs. She walked up to the next floor and found the room. She knocked on the door gently. She heard someone move inside and got tense. Heero opened the door slightly and stared at her blankly.

"Relena." He said in a light voice.

"Hello Heero. I know you don't want me here, but I want to talk to you." Relena said. Heero nodded and opened the door wider to let her in. She stood in front of him and smiled.

"Heero, why do you want me to stay away from you?" She whispered.

"I don't want to hurt you." Heero said, giving her a semi death glare.

"You won't hurt me as long as you're with me." Relena said and smiled. Heero shook head and turned around. Voices haunted Relena's head telling her to get away from him or everyone would die, but she shook her head. She started to walk towards him. 'I want to help him too.' She thought. 'One last chance.'

"Please listen to me." Relena whispered.

"No, you are wrong." Heero said coldly but silently. Relena frowned and walked in front of him. He had his arms crossed looking down. (They are the same height.) Relena smiled at how cute he was.

"No. I don't think I'm wrong, I know what I want. If you stay with me, you can never hurt me." Relena whispered gently. Heero still looked down, trying let the words sink in. Relena looked down his body and felt herself losing control. She didn't notice how close she was to him.

"Get away, get away. Before it's too late." The voices whispered to Relena. 'I want to help you, but I love Heero.' She thought.

"No, no, no. Get away, he'll break your delicate heart. Go away before it's too late." The voices screamed and cried. 'No, I love him. I need to save him, too.' Relena thought. Heero still looked down.

"No." Relena whispered out loud. Heero looked up at her questioningly. They locked eyes, drowning in each other's blank eyes. Heero looked down again and then turned around. Relena frowned and sighed. There was silence between the both of them.

"Nooooooooooooooooo." She heard the faint whispers yell.

"Heero, please let me be with you." Relena whispered in a saddened voice, "before it's too late." Heero grunted and walked towards the door. He opened it and looked at Relena, telling her to leave. 'No.' Relena thought. Her heart was racing, aching, breaking. 'No, he couldn't want this. He doesn't, he can't. Why am I fooling myself? He does want this. He doesn't love me, like I love him. It's over, I have to stay away from him now. To, to help the ones that needs me. He doesn't want my help.' She thought and a single tear ran down her face.

"No more tears." She whispered to herself. 'I will not go near him and he won't go near me.' She thought and walked towards the door.

"I'll miss you Heero, goodbye." She whispered and ran out the door. Heero stared at her run out. Relena ran outside passing the teenager. She had her eyes closed tightly fighting back the tears. She ran fast towards her home holding her heart, hoping her heart wouldn't break.

"Yes, get away. Get back to your dreams where we'll save your crystal heart. Where you are safe, out of harm's way. We will love and cherish you forever." The voices whispered into the cold night air. Relena smiled a little. 'Where I will be love and cherished forever.' She thought.

"Forever." She whispered as tears glittered gracefully down her face.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm sorry, Relena." Heero whispered as he closed his eyes to sleep.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A/N: So I'll start the next chapter very soon. Okay for all of you who are enjoying this story. I am sorry if there is a long space below; I'm hope there isn't. Heero was in his room at the end; sorry I didn't clear that up.
